• The helpfulness of the staff and location to the event we were attending.
• The water pressure was low and made it hard to shower.

“This was a great stop for an overnight stay. The staff was wonderful, and the hotel was clean. I'd definitely stay there again if in the area.”

• Convenient location and proximity to restaurants, gas stations and the expressway.
• Wish it had a refrigerator.

• Great place to stay for the money.

“Conveniently located and a great room. Housekeeping could have been a bit more attentive, they failed to clean the coffee maker, leave coffee and the bed was haphazardly made.”

• It was near to good restaurants and accessible to interstate highway.
• The sheets were too small for the bed and would not stay in place.

“Although the quality of the bed itself was good, the sleeping experience was less than acceptable due to the small sheet size. This makes the experience of staying at this motel not as pleasant as I expected. I would think twice about staying there again.”

• Fairly cheap.
• Shower faucet did not work. We were barely able to take a shower.

“I guess it served its purpose for a quick stop to get a few hours of sleep, but that would be the only reason to stay here again. Our shower faucet was broken and would not fully engage the shower head. It was very difficult trying to take a shower. Housekeeping should at least inspect the rooms functionality before moving on to the next room.”

• Clean, close to town, quiet, safe location.
• Beds were very lumpy and soft.

“We had a nice stay for the price. We met other travelers who had a similar room for much more. We would definitely stay here when we are in the Cumberland area in the future. This is a great place to stay if you want the basics for a reasonable cost. Hotel was rather empty on the weekend we stayed, which contributed to the quiet atmosphere.”

• Good location and easy access to the area.
• Poor beds needed to be thrown away.

“It was a clean place in good location, but the beds were very bad. The floor were uneven under the carpets, like some of the padding was missing. and the wall covering in the shower area was loose.”

• The staff was friendly!
• Recliner chair didn't remain in the reclined position, broken.

“This place was great as a rest stop during a longer trip. We were only there long enough to sleep and shower before continuing on our journey. The room was very clean, but the shower floor looked as though it had been painted, and that coating was coming off. We came to check-out just as the staff was starting to put away the breakfast items. When we asked if it was too late to eat, they brought out the things they had already put away so we could have breakfast! Great and personable staff! There were no frills here, but it served its purpose well!”

• Friendly desk people, rooms in back, elevator.
• Thin ceiling: walking noises from room above for two very late hours.

• The bed was comfortable.
• Room was dirty and musty. Lobby smelled like sewage.

“I spent $50/night to stay at this hotel. While this is seems to be a good value for the area, the condition of the room was not worth the money. I've stayed at the Red Roof Inn in LaVale for $70/night, and was more than happy. In retrospect, I should have spent the extra $20 and stayed some place decent. I will never stay at the Super 8 in LaVale, or any place else again.”

• Great location right off I-68 for westbound traveler.
• Proximity to traffic light precipitated a windows-closed stay.

“The Super 8 lived up to its name. Great rate, great room. However, if you want to sleep with the window open, request a room facing away from Alt-40. Too many loud car exhaust systems pulling fast away from the traffic light means no night air with the window open. Certainly not the fault of Super 8; it's our "look-at-me-I-need-attention" society.”

• Unfitted bottom sheets: very annoying.
