• Hotel was shabby, looked very worn. Toilet flushed randomly in our room.

“Centrally located, easy to access public transport. Staff was very helpful, also, use the visitors center 1 1/2 blocks away on Main Street very informative!”

“The lobby is very nice, and the front desk staff was very friendly and courteous. The carpeting on our floor was old and stained, but otherwise the hallways were clean. The room itself was very big, but empty. There was just the bed, a desk, and a table with the TV on it. There is next to nowhere to eat around the hotel. However, all in all it was a good experience, and I would stay again.”

• Nothing to do in the area-no pool or hot tub.

“The hotel itself was OK but if you are on holiday and wanting to be in an area wear there are restaurants or shopping or anything to do you are in the wrong place here. It had nothing to do in or out of the hotel-parking was across the road and you had to pay for it so add that on to your costs.”

• Good location in central Downtown and excellent room quality.
• No parking on-site had to use private parking on outside lot which was not safe.

“Excellent quality of hotel and staff, although Hyatt parking lot or valet would have been easier and safer i.e. car next to me was broken into. Their own health club on-site would have been nice too, for a Hyatt Downtown they should have these facilities on-site but otherwise a great stay.”

• Flexibility with changing king bed to 2 doubles.

“I asked for one king size bed, but a few hours before check-in, found out that we were expecting some friends to crash with us. Tried to get 2 double beds instead but every room was booked up. Got a single cot sent up for free.”

“Hyatt regency was supposed to be high end hotel. Whereas the Hyatt Regency in Buffalo was like a 2 Star hotel. The lobby that led to the room was dingy. The Room itself was not very impressive.”

• Great city and lake views, beautiful lobby area.
• Rooms not updated to Hyatt expectations (yet still comfortable).

“Easy and fast automatic check-in at front desk. Front desk staff available for assistance but a little up pity and rushed even though it was not busy. Beautiful glass lobby atrium with piano and water feature. Very chic feeling. Rooms were comfortable and spacious. Bed and pillows were plush. Everything was clean but the rooms have not been updated in some time and do not match the renovation of the lobby. Also, parking is across the street at a public garage at $8 per day. No validation at hotel and very little car room in front of hotel for check in. You almost must use the valet unless you just have one small piece of luggage else you will be rolling luggage across busy city crosswalks.”

• Cleanliness of bathroom upon arrival ( hairs on floor and in tub) and no telephone book in room.

• Most comfortable beds ever. Very friendly staff.
• A bit run down.

“Great stay here at the Hyatt Buffalo. The staff was very nice right from the beginning, they asked us if we would like a king size room or 2 double beds. Parking is across the street and cost $10.50 for the night with in and out privileges. The room was big, the beds were the most comfortable I've ever slept on. They also had a little workout room. Down side was that the halls were a bit run down looking and people were kind of noisy in the morning. No continental breakfast either.”

• Loved the location and proximity to the Niagara Falls area. Provided a decent value.
• The bathroom was moderately clean; the accessories were good. But the staff needs to put in some work to make sure the bathroom stays spic 'n span.

• Room was directly below treadmills/exercise room.

“Hotel staff was very nice but check-in clerk failed to mention possible noise from exercise room directly above room. I correctly guessed at the loud 5:30 am-1100 am noise source, was not charged for the internet charge and got 2 free full breakfasts. Check in clerk did give us 2 $10 off coupons for EB Greens - #5 Steakhouse in North America. Excellent restaurant suggestion. People in Buffalo were the friendliest I've ever met.”

• We liked the lobby and the bed was very comfortable.
• It was very loud! We didn't get any sleep! We were right next to the elevator, ice maker, and people were coming into the hotel at all hours.

“The walls were very thin in the hotel, because we were wakened numerous time throughout the night. The decor of the hotel was poor and needs updated.”

• Location was nice, hotel lobby was okay, staff was responsive, no hotel parking. We parked our cars in paid parking lots around the hotel.
• Room carpet was poor, ventilation was bad and overall, I was expecting better experience from Hyatt.

“Best thing about the hotel is location, Buffalo Downtown, even though there isn't much there see or do, hotel corridors and rooms need some upgrade, the room carpet was in bad shape with lot of stains, ventilation was poor in my room, it was just good enough to spend night.”

• Everything except location.

“The hotel has really bad maintenance. When we went to the assigned room the linens were dirty and room was not cleaned. When they changed our rooms the linens were not crisp and seemed not to have been washed.”

• Attractive, clean. Spacious.
• Even on the 9th floor I heard the bar music outside until 4 am.

“Would be a 4 star hotel and welcome for anyone but the nightlife in Buffalo blares music until 4 am and it can be heard in the 9th floor rooms. Not very suitable for families or business people trying to get some sleep!”

• The hotel was close to the Theater I was going to and the food in the restaurant was great.
• The room left something to be desired; no bed skirt on the bed, things left from previous guests.

“The hotel lobby was beautiful and the restaurant (E.B. Greens) was delicious, though a bit expensive. The rooms were less than great. The stark white bedding, the bed with no bed skirt and things left from previous guests made the room seem less quality than the rest of the hotel. The hallways were loud, but the biggest plus for the hotel was that it was within walking distance of the Sheas Theatre where we were seeing a show.”

• The rooms are extremely outdated, carpets unclean, shower just old.

“The Hyatt Regency in Buffalo, NY is in an excellent location, from the outside it is beautiful. Once you get in the elevator it is a different story. The hallways smelled funky, the room had old, stained carpet. The wallpaper was peeling off the walls, the bathroom shower curtain was in awful condition, the water pressure was not good. The bed linens were clean but I could tell they were very worn out. This hotel does not deserve a 3 star rating. I'd rather stay at the Hampton Inn down the street.”

• The hallway carpets on our floor were filthy.

“We like this hotel. We have stayed there on a prior occasion. The bed was very comfortable. The overall indoor appearance is cool and clean. Didn't get to try the restaurants this trip. The proximity to Chippewa Street is a big plus as well.”

“We requested in advanced a microwave and a refrigerator for our baby. We arrived to the hotel close to 10 pm very tired, my baby was more than ready for his warm bottle of milk. The microwave was not in the room, we called the front desk and requested they said they would take it upstairs immediately, it didn't happen. After several calls form my husband and myself a very old refrigerator and a microwave with the glass of the door broken arrived. Because of the emergency situation we tried to use it and didn't warm! We also thought it wouldn't be safe to turn it on because of the propagation of the electromagnetic waves. We had to give the baby the bottle almost cold and returned the microwave next day. Terrible experience. Also the area where the hotel is doesn't look safe, they don't have valet parking, so my husband had to go walking with the security guy to a parking to park the car late at night.”

• Everything was extra costed. Including $5 for a bottle of water!

“The place was clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly. One day they didn't get to cleaning our room until late in the afternoon, but overall it was a very comfortable place to stay. Everything extra costed a lot though! All hotel services, including on demand movies to bottled water had majority over inflated prices!”

“Clean and convenient to Downtown Buffalo. Many attractions are within walking distance of the hotel. Parking was not free, and the hotel wanted to charge us 14 dollars per day. The clerk at the hotel did not know that on the weekend, most times are free or at a set $3.00 - 5.00 charge.”

“It was just ok neither good nor bad. This was my first experience with Hyatt and I thought it would be an upscale hotel but actually it was not. Its name sounds you very fancy but there is nothing very fancy in it. They charge for internet. Even a roadside economy hotel provides free internet. No complimentary breakfast. This is very bad. I didnt expect that from such a big name. Plus side is that bed was comfortable. So if you have to spend most of your time outside the hotel then it could be a choice.”
