“This hotel was so so I wouldn't stay here again.” Apr 22, 2009 by
Dorothy from Selma,NC
“Over all the total place needed a paint job and the place was surround with loud people and music to all hours of the night.” Apr 18, 2009 by
Tina from Henderson,NC
“I enjoyed the location of the hotel. It is in between all of the attractions and close to everything we wanted to see and do. The gentleman that checked us in was very helpful. The room was decent and the place was quiet with an OK view. the cleaning staff was also friendly.” Sep 4, 2008 by
Cari from Sumter, SC
“Overall for the price it was well worth it. It was right across the street from the beach. In a good location and lots of things to do around it with in walking distance.” Sep 3, 2008 by
John from Greenwood, SC
“Not safe, rooms are dirty, there are people living at hotel.” Aug 21, 2008 by
Carrie from Richburg, SC
“Bedding was clean, pool was brown, shower head was wonderful with great water pressure but don't take a bath, everything below eye level in the shower was covered in mold. Short walk to family kingdom a plus.” Aug 11, 2008 by
C.J from Nitro, WV
“Good location to visit the beach and the staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean but not very spacious.” Aug 11, 2008 by
Gary from Middlefield, OH
“3 star never, ocean view impossible, dirty unclean room, electrical wires exposed laying on the beds where my kids were going to sleep.” Aug 11, 2008 by
Laura
“The staff at the hotel was, in general, rude and unwelcoming. There were days that our room was not cleaned and our bed went unmade, which I find unacceptable when you are paying to stay somewhere that vows to make you comfortable. One night our car was broken into and several items of value were stolen. The staff helped in notifying the police, however their security cameras were turned off at the time and proved no help. They didn't have anything that could be used to clean the glass out of the car and were overall apathetic about the situation. Overall, I was very disappointed with my stay in this hotel.” Aug 7, 2008 by
Cherry from Hewitt, NJ
“This hotel is a great place to stay for families on a budget. The amenities includes a medium size fridge and a microwave so its possible to store drinks, take out etc. The staff is very friendly and eager to help us with directions. It is across the street from the beach and 10 minutes away from the amusement park. My family had a comfortable stay at this hotel.” Aug 2, 2008 by
Nesa M. from Kingstree, SC
“This hotel is in desperate need of renovations. I checked in and my room was not cleaned. The maintenance man came and cleaned it; then I discovered the bathroom would not look the balcony door would not open (kept jumping off track) and it was hard to modify the water temperature. Also I was unable to get internet connection and the hotel manager would not provide me with any assistance. The maintenance man tried to help but he did not know much about internet services. I had two rooms and the other room had a large hole in the wall and room service did not come until the 2nd day of our stay. The pots and pans provided by the hotel were greasy and broken.” Jul 23, 2008 by
Andrea from Spruce Pine, NC
“This hotel was in dire need of a makeover. It, along with the elevator, had a 'funky' smell. If I were 18 again, and on spring break, I suppose it would suffice. But as for a family vacation, not the best.” Jul 18, 2008 by
Leah from West End, NC
“Good value for $. Liked the full-size refrigerator and stove in room, beds were very comfy.” Jul 18, 2008 by
Steven from Fayetteville, NC
“The hotel was fine for the time I stayed there. When we got there the lady at the front desk was not helpful or friendly at all. That put a bad taste in my mouth then. The elevator had fruit loops in the bottom of it. Needed to be cleaned. Terrible experience. There was a $25.00 charge if there was a dirty fork left any where which did not make any since to me. Had to bend over just to wash my hair when I should have had to stand up and enjoy a nice showering. Overall I would not spend my stay there again.” Jul 17, 2008 by
Mark from Williamsburg, IN
“We moved into across the street for the ocean front room. But, that's not saying much. Do not stay at the Ocean Plaza, dump. Sleazy obnoxious people. We complained about the noise from the pool at midnight. They did nothing.” Jul 15, 2008 by
Susan from Kannapolis, NC
“The hotel was comfortable.” Jul 3, 2008 by
Unknown from Fredericksburg, VA
“What more can you expect from a cheap hotel in Myrtle beach? It smelled like drunk college kids were partying way too hard. I had to hold my breath on the ride up. But it served our purposes as a rest stop dividing up a really long drive, and was easy to walk to the family kingdom park. At least we could see the ocean from our room and had a balcony. Like I said, you can't expect much more at myrtle beach.” Jul 3, 2008 by
Erin from West End, NC
“Overall a pleasant experience.” Jun 25, 2008 by
Erik
“The hotel was right on the quiet end of ocean BLVD, which was nice for sleeping. not far away from Family Kingdom. All in all I enjoyed the hotel.” Jun 16, 2008 by
Jessi from Caldwell, OH
“For the price, the room could have been better. There were many other cheaper hotels that were actually oceanfront.” May 24, 2008 by
Angela from Columbia, SC
“Across the street, and with a view of, the ocean, if you just need a cheap room to sleep in, this is the hotel for you. The elevator was old and hard to find, the breakfast was. Limited at best. The office worker was professional and friendly and helped me find the hotel when I called.” May 22, 2008 by
Cheryl from Pembroke, NC
“Enjoyed staying and the beds were comfortable.” May 21, 2008 by
Sabrina from Oak Harbor, WA
“The location is great being right across the street from the beach and right in the middle of the city. Parking isn't great, but the hotel layout is easy to get in and out of quickly.” May 19, 2008 by
Amber from Summerville, SC
“Great location and many pools and two lazy rivers at the hotel. It has at least two restaurants, and the hotel staff was a pleasure!” May 13, 2008 by
Christopher from Charleston, SC
“This hotel was dirty, no remote was provided for TV. We were not told that it was biker week in myrtle beach, (thousands of bikes!) And just happened to be parked where they were parking the bikers. Not happy! Paid a pretty penny for what?” Jun 30, 2007 by
Jamie
“My husband, small children & I were just staying one night. I got locked in the bathroom because the door knob was broken, there was mold on the bathroom ceiling, at 3am we smelled smoke & when I called the office no one bothered to answer (tried 3 times with no answer), 45 min later some type of alarm went off on the 3rd floor & yet again when I tried to phone the office no one was there to answer the phone & one bothered to phone us to tell us what we were to do. The lobby of the hotel was way to small to hold a breakfast. The entire experience was a wash out & I will never stay there again. The nice lady that was working the front office when we checked in needs to work at a nicer hotel, she was to sweet to work in that dump!” Jun 25, 2007 by
Brad
“No TV in living room, only TV in bedroom, sheet on bed had stains on them. Did have an enclosed pool, but was not open late. No elevator to upper floors.” May 29, 2005 by
