• The beds were good.
• The coffee pots in the bath room, the place needed a paint job.

• Tthe staff was great.

“I enjoyed the location of the hotel. It is in between all of the attractions and close to everything we wanted to see and do. The gentleman that checked us in was very helpful. The room was decent and the place was quiet with an OK view. the cleaning staff was also friendly.”

• Close to the beach.
• Elevator was very small and smelled because of the trash chute beside it.

“Bedding was clean, pool was brown, shower head was wonderful with great water pressure but don't take a bath, everything below eye level in the shower was covered in mold. Short walk to family kingdom a plus.”

• The size of our room was inadequate; our car was broken into in the parking lot.

“The staff at the hotel was, in general, rude and unwelcoming. There were days that our room was not cleaned and our bed went unmade, which I find unacceptable when you are paying to stay somewhere that vows to make you comfortable. One night our car was broken into and several items of value were stolen. The staff helped in notifying the police, however their security cameras were turned off at the time and proved no help. They didn't have anything that could be used to clean the glass out of the car and were overall apathetic about the situation. Overall, I was very disappointed with my stay in this hotel.”

• Great location (across the beach), affordable, spacious, friendly and helpful staff.
• The pool need a little maintenance.

“This hotel is a great place to stay for families on a budget. The amenities includes a medium size fridge and a microwave so its possible to store drinks, take out etc. The staff is very friendly and eager to help us with directions. It is across the street from the beach and 10 minutes away from the amusement park. My family had a comfortable stay at this hotel.”

• The indoor pool was a nice touch but very small.
• I didn't like that many of the rooms were outdated and hotel needed to be renovated. Holes in the wall and unfriendly staff.

“This hotel is in desperate need of renovations. I checked in and my room was not cleaned. The maintenance man came and cleaned it; then I discovered the bathroom would not look the balcony door would not open (kept jumping off track) and it was hard to modify the water temperature. Also I was unable to get internet connection and the hotel manager would not provide me with any assistance. The maintenance man tried to help but he did not know much about internet services. I had two rooms and the other room had a large hole in the wall and room service did not come until the 2nd day of our stay. The pots and pans provided by the hotel were greasy and broken.”

• Thankfully my son enjoyed the pool (although not for its quality).
• The extremely short shower head in the shower.

“This hotel was in dire need of a makeover. It, along with the elevator, had a 'funky' smell. If I were 18 again, and on spring break, I suppose it would suffice. But as for a family vacation, not the best.”

• Honestly the pillows were the only good thing and the AC.
• Well in the bathroom the molding was coming loose. The store handle hanging down and torn off.

“The hotel was fine for the time I stayed there. When we got there the lady at the front desk was not helpful or friendly at all. That put a bad taste in my mouth then. The elevator had fruit loops in the bottom of it. Needed to be cleaned. Terrible experience. There was a $25.00 charge if there was a dirty fork left any where which did not make any since to me. Had to bend over just to wash my hair when I should have had to stand up and enjoy a nice showering. Overall I would not spend my stay there again.”

“We moved into across the street for the ocean front room. But, that's not saying much. Do not stay at the Ocean Plaza, dump. Sleazy obnoxious people. We complained about the noise from the pool at midnight. They did nothing.”

• Bad smell in the room.

“What more can you expect from a cheap hotel in Myrtle beach? It smelled like drunk college kids were partying way too hard. I had to hold my breath on the ride up. But it served our purposes as a rest stop dividing up a really long drive, and was easy to walk to the family kingdom park. At least we could see the ocean from our room and had a balcony. Like I said, you can't expect much more at myrtle beach.”

• It was close to the beach.
• The elevator broke.

“The hotel was right on the quiet end of ocean BLVD, which was nice for sleeping. not far away from Family Kingdom. All in all I enjoyed the hotel.”

• The elevator smelled horrible, room layout was strange and it was hard to get the room cool because of the AC location, very noisy.

“For the price, the room could have been better. There were many other cheaper hotels that were actually oceanfront.”

• Inexpensive, and close to the beach.
• Room smelled old, breakfast was limited, old elevator was scary.

“Across the street, and with a view of, the ocean, if you just need a cheap room to sleep in, this is the hotel for you. The elevator was old and hard to find, the breakfast was. Limited at best. The office worker was professional and friendly and helped me find the hotel when I called.”

• Open walkways and hallways, somewhat insufficient parking.

“The location is great being right across the street from the beach and right in the middle of the city. Parking isn't great, but the hotel layout is easy to get in and out of quickly.”

• Everything, not clean, parked me right in front of the parking for biker week.

“This hotel was dirty, no remote was provided for TV. We were not told that it was biker week in myrtle beach, (thousands of bikes!) And just happened to be parked where they were parking the bikers. Not happy! Paid a pretty penny for what?”

• Free breakfast.
• Rundown, broken door knobs, walls thin you can hear everything from your neighbors room, elevators didn't work.

“My husband, small children & I were just staying one night. I got locked in the bathroom because the door knob was broken, there was mold on the bathroom ceiling, at 3am we smelled smoke & when I called the office no one bothered to answer (tried 3 times with no answer), 45 min later some type of alarm went off on the 3rd floor & yet again when I tried to phone the office no one was there to answer the phone & one bothered to phone us to tell us what we were to do. The lobby of the hotel was way to small to hold a breakfast. The entire experience was a wash out & I will never stay there again. The nice lady that was working the front office when we checked in needs to work at a nicer hotel, she was to sweet to work in that dump!”

• I loved the balcony overlooking Ocean Blvd annd views of the ocean/breakfast was great.
• Rooms are outdated.No linen provided for the pull out couch.

“It was too noisey!!! There was a thunderstorm and the sliding glass door was shaking...I thought it was going to break. It was along the main drag...and there were a lot of NOISE!!!! Kept waking us up. ”
