• Like a small apartment.
• Plastic bag over the smoke detector.

“Nice hotel and convenient to the ocean (across the street). Street side rooms were a little noisy due to late night traffic.”

• The hotel staff was very friendly. Always there to answer questions and even printing off directions for things in the area.
• The room needed a different air freshener. Also new sheets and more pillows on the bed.

“The hotel staff amazing. The pools were great. The lazy river was awesome. Just a walk across the road to the beach. I would and probably will stay in this hotel again. Def a good deal for the money. If you aren't looking for five star. Would rather save your money for other things but still feel safe and clean. This is your place.”

• Loved the free breakfasts and the large room with ocean view from the balcony.
• Bed mattresses were too stiff.

“Good for the price. The pools were "almost" too cold to use at all. They were supposed to be heated but they didn't feel like it. The free continental breakfast was good.”

• Dark rooms, to crowd in the room.

“It is what I expected, nice cheap place to stay for the weekend getaway. Nothing more than a place to sleep. I would stay again for a getaway.”

• It was great location. Friendly staff, it was great.
• The cont breast area was too small for this size hotel.

“My mom and I arrived on Friday afternoon for a short stay the staff was so friendly and helpful with finding our way around myrtle. The rooms very clean I had accidentally booked a smoking room and you couldn¿t even smell old smoke in the room it was an awesome place to stay will most definitely stay here again.”

• Nothing special about hotel, but clean. Staff prompt to resolve problems.
• Chair in room was broken on arrival. No hot water in morning, due to main pilot for hotel going out overnight.

“A couple of issues during our stay were promptly attended to when staff were notified by us. Chair in room was broken, but was taken away & being fixed within minutes. No hot water to rooms reported by us very early. I guess since that was attended to before most people awoke, the water had heated up before they need to use. Everything else no complaints.”

• Close to airport.
• Bathroom very small and cramped / no coffee at 6 am in lobby / morning desk person was a little cranky.

“Only needed a room for the night in order to be close to the airport for an early morning flight. Even though it was 32 degrees outside, and the ac had a warm / heat setting, there was only one regular bed sheet in addition to the bedspread. Would have liked to have the additional blanket in between. Two small bath towels was barely enough. Thank goodness I pack my own beach towel to use. Wake up call was a few minutes late, but the cab was right on time, if not 15 minutes early. Coffee in the lobby was not ready, which I can understand for a 6 am checkout, but the coffee provided in the hotel room was awful.”

• I liked most of this hotel is the sound of the ocean while I was sleeping!
• The construction but best western could not help that.

• The location was close to the beach with good amenities.
• Room 1118 is near the storage room and the staff is a little noisy because you are so close.

“Overall I had a great experience staying at this hotel. All the basic amenities were up to par and just a walk across the street to the beach. The small sun deck on the second floor was a good place to view the ocean and could be better with different railing.”

• Price, location, and cleanliness.
• Bathrooms we too small.

“Overall experience was very pleasant. The hotel is in a great location on the south end of the grand strand. Was quiet at night. The rooms were clean and the price was great. The only dislike was that the bathrooms were very small!”

• Very clean with great breakfast bar.
• Small rooms and little table space for breakfast.

“Older motel with small rooms that is very clean and nicely maintained. It is located right in the middle of old myrtle beach with the newer part of the motel (and indoor pool) on the Oceanside of the road. However, most of the motel is on the other side. Nice variety on continental breakfast bar but they have little table space to eat it. Overall, a solid two-star property.”

• Waffles! For their free continental breakfast they had free waffles.
• Couldn't find thermostat in the room.

“Overall, good place to stay, across the street from the ocean. You can make a waffle for breakfast with free continental breakfast. Clean room. But be sure and ask where the thermostat is in the room, I never did find mine. If you have a laptop set up for wireless or wifi internet, it's free here. I didn't take mine. Overall nice clean place to stay!”

• Directly across the street from the ocean, plenty of parking, and kids loved the lazy river.
• Daily cleaning of the rooms could have been better. Also, seemed to be a linen shortage.

• Nothing bath tub overflowed and we were over charged.
• My bathing suit was ruined by to much chlorine in the pool and I had an allergic reaction resulting in a Dr's visit.

• We were able to get a two room suite at a pretty good price. It had a nice size pool and a lazy river.
• The overall appearance of the hotel seemed to be clean, however, after the door to the bathroom was closed a dirty washcloth was found on the floor.

“Overall our stay was OK. After complaining about a dirty washcloth and soap on the bathroom floor, the clerk apologized and brought warm fresh towels and sheets to help me feel better about our stay. I'm still not convinced the hotel ensures the housekeeping staff does a thorough job of cleaning the rooms. The location was across the main street to the beach and was difficult to cross with children. We enjoyed the pool and the continental breakfast, but I wouldn't stay there again.”

• They tried to charge us more than expected.

“Desk services are poor and unpleasant, not welcome. Breakfast room is so small. Bathroom is dirty. I booked for 4adults and 2 kids, they said there are only 2 adults and 2 kids . ”

• Although, I was assigned to a non-smoking room, there was evidence of previous smokers.

“Overall, the hotel was a good value. I was disappointed that the room I stayed in had previously had smokers/ ( I have severe allergies.) The hotel staff was friendly and helpful.”

• Friendly customer service always makes us feel at home. The location is convenient to most local attractions.
• The first floor rooms are noisy because they are adjacent to the street.

“The hotel is a great value for the buck. The rooms were updated in 2005. Since the hotel is on the opposite side of the street from the ocean, I do not recommend it for summer month lodging for travelers with small children due to crossing the main street to get to the ocean.”
