Amy from Woodbridge
“We came out to see the Shenandoah Valley with our kids so we were looking for family friendly and affordable, but clean. I can say we did get that. The place was clean, decent sized room, fridge and microwave in room. It's not spectacular but if you're not super picky, it's a good deal for the money. The continental breakfast was nice. The staff is friendly and it seemed like a pretty safe place. One bad thing is that it is located right off the highway so that when you're standing outside of the hotel the highway is right beside you and you hear trucks zooming by all hours. It's kind of loud. The other drawback for us was the contractors staying there, hanging out, drinking beer, partying, etc. It's not real conducive to a family atmosphere. Luckily they weren't up past 2 am. so they didn't keep me awake. (I'm a night owl) However, they were a bit loud. The breakfast buffet was decent offering yogurt, fruit, bagels, waffles, etc. The only bad thing about it was the lady tending it was apparently sick and kept coughing all around the food. I set my waffle down and carried something to my table and she came out coughing all near it so I had to throw it out. She shouldn't have been tending the buffet. Hopefully no one got sick. My other complaint is that the pool turned my hair green. I dye my hair light blond so if the chemicals aren't right in the pool that can happen. I've never had it happen before but have since found out that can happen if there is too much copper added to the water. Sometimes the pool person puts in too much chlorine and then adds extra copper to combat the chlorine. This will turn real light hair green. My hair was not recently dyed, by the way. I told the front desk person about this. I was told they monitor the chemicals and test them. I never heard anything else about it before we left. (no one checked in with me) After returning home and my hair was still green, I called the hotel. I asked them to find out what was going on with the chemicals so I'd know how to fix my hair. I was told they'd call me the next day. I never did hear from them. I did some research online and did manage to fix my hair. If your hair turns green from high copper content in a pool, soak it in tomato juice. It absorbs the copper. My husbands boxer shorts were totally bleached out after being in the pool also. The hotel itself is decent and a good value. However, when I go to Harrisonburg again I will stay somewhere else if I want to swim. It was inconvenient and irritating to have green hair and have to figure out how to fix it. What was more irritating to me though was the lack of concern on the hotel's part. If I ran a hotel, or any business I would make some effort to make sure my guests were taken care of if there was a problem. That's just basic customer service. If you go above and beyond, a guest will come back even after a bad experience usually. They will also be more likely to give you a good review.” Aug 30, 2008 by

“This hotel was okay for the night.” Aug 11, 2008 by
Susie from St. Louis, MO
“This is a total no frills hotel. a motel. It was fairly quiet, but you could hear people talking outside. It seemed old and run down.” Jul 28, 2008 by
Tanya from Carbondale, PA
“Very nice, and clean place.” Jul 17, 2008 by
Sandra from Providence Forge, VA
“Hotel was nice, unfortunately I had a personal bad experience.” Jun 24, 2008 by

“This is a clean, convenient hotel. All rooms open directly to the outside (not an inside hallway). The hotel is also located next to a major highway. If you want a safe, quiet room, insist on a room that is facing the swimming pool.” Mar 18, 2008 by
Terri from Glassboro, NJ
“Overall the hotel was very clean, staff friendly and accommodating, however, the outside environment was very noisy with vehicles starting, guests banging their feet as they exit on the stairs. They really had no consideration for others.” Feb 25, 2008 by
Dawn from Stone Ridge, VA
“The hotel is comfortable but aged, with exterior corridors and somewhat drafty doors. The only complaint I had was the noise - it's located near a few truck stops and so traffic was an issue all night. Otherwise, the facility is clean and comfortable, though nothing special.” Feb 21, 2008 by
Nate from Woodbridge, VA
“Good place to bunk down for the night when driving down 81. Clean room, friendly staff and convenient to the highway. May lack dining options but has good continental breakfast. I would stay there again if ever traveling though Harrisonburg.” Nov 28, 2007 by
Tara from Kill Devil Hills, NC
“Very satisfied with price and quality. Was well worth my stay. Family friendly and included free breakfast. Would stay here again.” Oct 26, 2007 by

“Good location, good price, but needs remodeling / upgrading; which they are in the process of doing.” Sep 6, 2007 by
Lois from Philadelphia, PA
“The lobby and breakfast area of the hotel were nice. The room was ok but that is all. The border around the room was ugly. The dark green bedspread and carpet made me wonder what dirt I couldn't see.” Sep 6, 2007 by
Tammy from Mechanicsburg, PA
“Not at this time.” Aug 18, 2007 by
Kevin from Lexington, SC
“Room was clean with no smells. The pillows were very thin and the fitted sheets kept pulling off which made for uncomfortable sleeping. Breakfast was very basic.” Jul 31, 2007 by
Joe from Powhatan, VA
“The hotel served my needs but it is not up to the standard expected of a Ramada. The continental breakfast was very good and well organized.” Jul 12, 2007 by
Rhonda from Monroe, CT
“Our family would highly recommend the Ramada Limited hotel for any kind of travel. Everyone on the staff was friendly and quite accommodating. We are not fancy in our expectations, but felt, overall all things were great and very clean. That is most important to our family!” Jul 4, 2007 by
Shirley from Lima, OH
“Not horrible, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. The room wasn't very clean, the bed not very comfortable, and the key cards didn't work the second day; they had to be reactivated, which was annoying.” Jun 23, 2007 by
Aaron from Knoxville, TN
“Convenient, but bare-bones accommodations. Some members of staff not overly friendly and room needed some small upkeep. Did appreciate the continental breakfast and free newspaper. Seems to be one of Harrisonburg's better motels.” Jun 12, 2007 by
Andrea from Paris, TX
“Overall, I was very happy with this hotel.” Feb 7, 2007 by
David from Kinsale, VA
“Enjoyable stay, friendly staff, great cont. breakfast.” Dec 26, 2006 by
Tom from Jarvisburg, NC
“Don't expect too much. I don't remember being offered a no-smoking room maybe they don't segregate? But, my room stank of stale smoke.” Dec 20, 2006 by
John from Woodbridge, VA
“Ok for truckers, but not a 2 star hotel.” Dec 19, 2006 by
Robert from Dracut, MA
“Access off the interstate was good but that is the only thing I can compliment. The hotel didn't impress me one bit. I actually switched to another hotel (sleep inn) once my time was up at the Ramada. I won't go back. I will however go back to the sleep inn I was very impressed with everything.” Dec 6, 2006 by
Harry from Wilton, CT
“A utilitarian motel that gets the job done with the basic amenities.” Nov 21, 2006 by
Anthony from Andover, NJ
“With these savings next time I will book the hotel of my choice at full price.” Oct 18, 2006 by
Rajen from Edison, NJ
“The hotel was good, room were clean and nice. Staff was helpful and the hotel is at great location. Locations, I wanted to go and everybody want to go...” Oct 3, 2006 by
Josh from Warrenton, VA
“The location doesn't seem particularly safe, the exterior appearance is incredibly sub-par, and the interiors are passable. The front desk staff is helpful, but they don't have much to work with. There are many better hotels in Harrisonburg for quick stop-over. This one isn't worth more than $40 a night, so pass it by if you can't get that price.” Sep 27, 2006 by
Lenny from Summerville, SC
“N/a” Aug 28, 2006 by
Suzanne from Pottstown, PA
“Clean room, good amenities, coffee pot, iron and board, great water pressure in shower.” Aug 2, 2006 by
Alan from Selinsgrove, PA
“Though an older Motel, rooms were clean and recently remodeled. Bed was very hard, and fitted sheets would not stay on bed. We did not rest well. Amenities were as stated. Front desk Staff seemed to be unfriendly, unwelcoming, and even confrontational with guests and other staff in the presence of guests on several occasions. Checkout took 15 min., because of lack of help at front desk.” Jul 23, 2006 by
Karen from Kennett Square, PA
“Clean, well-maintained. Friendly staff. Great free breakfast that included fruit, bagels, muffins, waffles, French toast, donuts, juice, coffee and hot/cold cereals. I have stayed here twice and both times (on check out day) a maid entered my room prior to 8 AM while I slept. I don't know why the maids don't wait until you check-out. Other than that, It is a very nice two star hotel.” Feb 22, 2006 by
Rebekah from Columbia, MD
“We enjoyed our stay. The hotel is clean and well kept. The front desk staff is friendly and a pleasure to do business with. The continental breakfast was fresh, it also included waffles and French toast.”
