- Very clean and the housekeeping did not knock on the door early in the morning. She watched for us to leave.

- They were very accomodating. We arrived early and they found rooms close together.
“The staff were wonderful. We were in town for a swim meet and needed to check in very early so our swimmers could rest between sessions. They were very accomodating, finding rooms that were available and close together!”

- The beds were very comfortable! The lady in the bar/restaurant was nice.
- The lady in the Starbucks was very unkind and had no customer service. Did not even give me any creamer. I had to ask the janitor to get me some.

- Free shuttle service around town.
- Non-smoking hotel and room, but room was smoked in the night before without a doubt. It reeked.
“The hotel was nice. The staff was friendly, but a little too friendly. I had to wait at the front desk for ten minutes in order to check out while the receptionist was joking around with another guest talking about weaves and getting their hair did until the subject was exhausted and the receptionist had time to check me out. That was very annoying.”

- Friendly, helpful staff and wonderful bed and bedding!
- Buzzing from a bed ballast in a fluorescent fixture right outside our room.

- I liked the comfortable bedding and the bathroom amenities.
- I wish they had continental breakfast. Also, the heat made a big squeak every time it came on.

- The beds & pillows were awesome, so was the lounge chair.
- Coffee was $2 in the lobby, crack in bathroom sink.
“Very nice, recently upgraded business hotel. Comfy beds, a good desk and reading chair. WiFi is now free which isn't the case in a lot of business hotels. Hotel restaurant food and coffee are over priced, but Cracker Barrel is right next door. The staff was friendly, attentive, and helpful.”

- Problems with TV, ridiculously loud AC, football team on floor being awakened by coaches pounding on doors at 6 am.
“In a pinch, I'd flop just about anywhere. If I really wanted to sleep or relax, this would not be the place. Staff was great, friendly & courteous. But the room-the TV was broken & the AC unit sounded like an electric garage door opening and closing all night. I couldn't wait to drive several hours home just to get some sleep.”

- Rooms were average, pull out couch, very cheap model.

I did not have a good night sleep on a sofa bed. The hotel was almost empty when I checked in and I felt like they just didn't want to give me the correct room, A notch down from the Millennium.”

- We had homeless come up to us in the parking lot asking for money.

- The bed and all the pillows were very comfortable.
- The hotel bar closed too early at 11 pm.
“Normally I prefer hotel that have free wireless, but like most hotels (including this one) you have to pay for it. Instead of the chair and ottoman I would've preferred having a microwave and mini-fridge. After a long day out and coming back to the hotel ~11pm, it would be nice to enjoy a nightcap in the bar. However is closed early so I never did get a chance to enjoy it. Having said that, I didn't check-out the swimming pool either. The fitness center was very nice. Each treadmill had its own TV/headphones, had weighted balls and free weights, nice! Overall it met my expectations.”

- The hotel staff was very accommodating. They called us as soon as we got in the room to see if there was anything that we needed.
- The air conditioner. We had to call the front desk that sent maintenance at 11:30 to fix our "clicking sound" in the AC unit.
“It is very accommodating for the business traveler and higher end expense traveler but was not very accommodating for people that like complimentary breakfast (for the family). It was very nice, but too expensive for the family to eat dinner or breakfast. I was Very disappointed with the AC unit. I will go back to the Hyatt Place when I visit this location again.”

- High quality soaps and toiletries added a touch of class to the room.
- Block out curtains didn't pull across the windows, so only mesh curtains which meant you couldn't block out daylight.
“This hotel was great for what we wanted - a base for day trips around North Carolina. It had easy and convenient self-parking, a spacious room, comfortable bed, free high speed internet and was a short drive to supermarkets, food outlets and CVS. Added to this it was close to the main freeways in and out of the area.”

- The bed was quite comfortable.
- Room was not made up on day 2 of our stay.
“The Duke Hilton resides in a strip mall style area on the outskirts of Durham. Though the quality of many of the amenities was acceptable, our A/C only worked intermittently at night and our windows did not open. On the second night of our stay we returned to a room that had not been cleaned. The finishes in our room would have been unacceptable for a one star motel (e.g. the bathroom door did not close all the way, wallpaper was not cut properly, A/C unit was loud and not installed level with the ceiling). I would not recommend this hotel to others.”

“Had a very positive experience here. The staff was very helpful in finding a crib for my 2-month old son. Room was clean and very comfortable. Location is ideal if you are traveling in Durham. If you plan to eat, you may want to eat off-site, since the prices are very high. You would easily spend $25 on breakfast alone, so unless you want to shell out those bucks, go to a nearby restaurant to eat.”

- The inefficiency of the night staff person, the broken fridge, a room already occupied.
“The hotel was fine but, it took me an hour to get to my room at (3 am to 4am) because of the inability of the night staff top process a key for my reservation. He gave me a room with someone in there (who became irate at my entry, of course). The security guard and I became friends since he accompanied me to my new room with the master key since a room key could not be made for me. He had to keep the key and I could no longer leave the room until the later shift made a key. A supervisor was called, but I finally went to sleep at 5 am. The fridge that was brought up by the security guard had a broken detached door which had to be propped closed by another object. Luckily they gave me a late checkout and the day manager was very apologetic and offered me a refund. I believe they fired the night staff person, as that he said "so and so" will not be working night shifts anymore. (this was not his first flub up said the security guard). The hotel itself was fine, comfortable, but a person wants to trust after driving a long way that check in in the middle of the night will go smoothly, especially since a reservation was made ahead of time.”

“Yet they gave us a room with only a king size bed. 3 in 1 bed--no thanks. Hall was musty w/o air conditioning on the first day. Sink drain was clogged and a lamp was very wobbly. Not our best hotel or Hilton experience!”
