• Suite was very roomy.
• Our room was too warm.

“The air conditioner did not work properly. Our room was too warm and never cooled down. There was a ceiling fan which suggested they knew the room would not cool down.”

• Staff was very friendly and helpful.
• it was not the hotel we asked for.

“This review is for the Cofmort Suites next to Homestead. While it is an average hotel, the staff was friendly and helpful. The lobby area was much too small for the groups of sports kids that were there and you could not hear the desk clerk because of all the people in the small lobby. The Tuesday night BBQ looked good, but was mostly gone by 6:30.”

• It had two separate rooms with nice amenities.
• Some of the furniture was shabby.

“Very comfortable. It was great having a kitchen and the separate sleeping and living areas. The furniture in the living room was a bit worn, but the overall hotel experience was very good.”

• I liked having a suite. 2 rooms 2 TV'S.
• Having to ask for more towels.

“Was very nice, clean, the suite had 2 double beds and a sofa bed, but only towels for 3. They should give you towels for at least 4.”

• The room is the size of a small apartment.
• There is an unpleasant odor in the corridors. I suspect a chemical to conceal the tobacco smoke.

“Except for the lingering smell of tobacco smoke; or the chemicals used to clean or conceal it, this hotel offers very nice accommodations. It is currently (Aug, 2008) being renovated; yet, I saw guests smoking outside their rooms. The area where breakfast and dinner is served is a two storey space with a fireplace and large screen TV. It reminded me of a mountain lodge.”

• Furniture a little uncomfortable and worn in sitting room area.

• Location was great. Just right off the highway and close to shopping center. Very clean and has a feel of a home environment.

• Located in a next to all shopping amenities.
• It was so great a comment would be just petty.

“This hotel is in a shopping area next to everything needed for an extended stay (Starbucks, Panera's, Kroger and restaurants). The hotel is between highways I40 and I85. Do not fret this is a great choice for the business, family or solo travelers.”

• Pool area, kitchenette, comfy bed, 2 flat-screen TVs, location.
• Mold in bath, breakfast choices, wallpaper peeling.

“Very good value for price. Suites are in process of being renovated, I think, so that accounts for wallpaper peeling. Very comfortable bed, very convenient for a weeklong stay for 1 or two people. Seemed to be very popular for young families on weekend getaway.”

• Room was a little scruffy and someone had been smoking in it. Also, down pillows make us sneeze!

“We enjoyed the convenience of this hotel. The room was a little disappointing, worn furniture, mold in the bathroom grouting, and not-so-faint smell of cigarette smoke. Also, breakfast was over early, before we even got up, and the down pillows in the room had us sneezing all night. Still, that said, it was spacious and convenient. Not bad, but not top of the line either.”

• Currently being renovated. Pretty small fitness area.

“The hotel was in a good location, less than 10 minutes from downtown Chapel Hill and located near a retail area with big box retailers. The hotel is under renovation. The lobby and dining area looks great but when you go upstairs, the hallways are completely trashed. The rooms were in great shape, fairly attractive and clean but starting to look a little dated. They haven't been renovated yet. Flat panel TVs. We stayed on a weekend and until Monday morning and there was no issue with construction noise. We got stuck on a smoking floor but had no smoke smell in the room. The windows open fully, so that was a plus. The staff were very friendly. I'd stay here again.”

• The suite was comfortable and nice, and meal services were extremely complete.
• We were first assigned to a room still in use, and construction was taking place. Hall walls were stripped for wall papering.

“Overall, our stay was extremely pleasant. We loved our king suite. It was well equipped with 2 flat screen TVs, a full kitchen, very comfortable bed. We enjoyed having hot breakfasts and dinners provided by the hotel, it saved us the hassle of going out for two meals a day. Most service was very friendly and accommodating. There was some jack hammering going on in the lobby near the bathrooms which was irritating, and the hallways were pre-wallpapering, so they were stripped and had plaster littering the carpets.”

• I like the versatility of the rooms with a large group.
• Because we stayed 2 nights the maid service was not great for 2nd day.

“I have stayed at this hotel before and really like it. It is very centrally located to what I wanted to do and overall very clean. I didn't feel like the maid service was the best when remaking the room for 2nd day. Staff very friendly and accomodating, dinner and breakfast very good, and very easy check-in/out.”

• The staff was accommodating and friendly. I could not believe the complimentary breakfast and welcome home meal that was served. Excellent.
• That there was only one vanity area and no other mirror to get ready in the a.m.

“Excellent. The service was above and beyond. They serve you two delicious complimentary meals (breakfast and dinner) and do not even ask for gratuities; unbelievable. Definitely the best value in town and worth more than a 2 & 1/2 star rating.”

• It was close to a lot of my friends and places where I had meetings scheduled.
• Not much, but they were working on some wallpaper. But the staff was nice and apologized for the mess.

• One of the best free, hot breakfasts I've ever had at a hotel--good variety, taste, etc.
• Handicapped-accessible room is not really that accessible.

“The hotel far exceeded my expectations. Among the nice surprises: (1) it provides one of the best free, hot breakfasts I've ever had at a hotel--especially when it comes to variety (e.g., the available choices varied every morning I was there); (2) the room had a full-size refrigerator, as well as a counter/table designed so as to be useful for eating, working, or both. Also, everyone on staff showed a willingness to go out of their way to help with anything I needed. Highly recommended!”

“This is one of the better hotels that I have stayed in. The staff was courteous and helpful, and if I did have any issues (if I wanted to change rooms, etc.) they were resolved immediately. They even had complimentary dinner and beer in the evening! It is definitely a family place, but also good for the business traveler. And close to both Duke and UNC. I would definitely stay here again.”

• I had to look on the floor for something, I dropped in the bathroom and it was not clean under the sink.

“Off the road but close to everything, the Homewood Suites is a great home away from home. The small sitting room and kitchen were convenient and the beds were comfortable. It was nice to have the working space separate from the sleeping space.”

• Excellent hotel way beyond expectations.
• There really wasn't anything I didn't like about the hotel except they could have had more of the specialty tea out in the lobby.

“The room was great. I liked the separate bedroom. There were two LCD screen televisions. It was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The kitchenette was great with a full fridge and ice maker and all the necessities to cook on the stove top. I was really impressed.”

“Generally this hotel met my expectations. There was some trouble with little things; light switches didn't turn on lights; the water never heated up in the sink; the wake up call rang in the phone in the kitchen rather than the bedroom; the room was all the way at the end of the hallway and there was no convenient exit to use to get in and out of that space had to basically go through the main door and walk all the way there. The staff was very accommodating and friendly though. I would stay here again.”

• A picture was hung behind the TV in the living room.

“The purpose of my trip was neither business nor leisure but to be a bone narrow donor at UNC hospital. Between the physical and my return for the procedure I broke my ankle. I can't say enough about how the staff took care of me sometimes you need more that a hotel. The breakfast and dinner (Monday-Thursday) buffets were terrific with choices for healthy dining. The courtesy van took me to and from the hospital. The van goes within a five mile radius of the hotel. The room was well designed, attractive and neat. The hotel is near the interstate but I was not bothered by traffic noise. The hotel is in the process of a redo. The furniture looked like it had just been recovered, or was new. I was not inconvenienced by any construction.”
