- The staff at the desk, bar, Shula's, housekeeping, were ALL so attentive, helpful, and friendly!
“The decor was rich, and every person on staff was wonderful. The pool looked nice, but we couldn't use it because of inclement weather. The workout facility was fabulous. I would love to stay there again!”

- Chapel Hill is beautiful in the spring.
- Hotel is under renovation and not currently fit for habitation.

- Convenient to our destination.
- No exercise facility, no pool, ongoing construction, small bathroom, no parking.
“This hotel will be better once construction is complete, but it is not comfortable and overall was a major disappointment. No exercise facility on site - you drive to a strip shopping mall and use a pretty run down gym in a strip mall.”

- Updated room decor.
- Lobby area under construction.
“Initially put in a double next to the elevator and exit, which was very loud. Asked to be moved within a few minutes and was put in a room with a king sized bed as there were no other double rooms available in the hotel. Luckily my daughter didn't mind! Lobby was still under construction and we had to use staff computer as the business center wasn't set up. Breakfast was not included. Updated room decor was nice and I imagine the other facilities will be also when completed.”

“Hotel did not even have the front entrance open. Had to enter through rear non-ADA accessible entrance. Floor we stayed on had smoke detector taped over, missing base board, carpet that was not attached securely and was trip hazard. None of the amenities were available on site including pool, fitness center, business center, no refrigerator in room.”

- Room was clean and comfortable and front desk clerk friendly and helpful.
- They should have closed the hotel during renovation.
“Hotel will probably be very nice all together once renovation is complete. Front lobby is closed, you are re-routed to the back of the hotel to check-in in a very small back entry which looks like a construction zone. Hallways and elevators reflect work in progress. Room itself was clean and comfortable, but all together we didn't get the right impression of the hotel.”

- Vending machine.
- Construction noise, bathtub stopper broken.
“They are in the middle of a remodel. Nothing was terribly bad about this hotel, but nothing particularly notable. Our room had a balcony which was nice, but the view was mediocre and the balcony wasn't really big enough to sit on comfortably. Lobby was being completely redone which made entering and exiting the hotel at the back entrance problematic as they only had stairs (no ramp).”

They require a $50 fee for incidentals which is charged upon check in. It was very inconvenient, to say the least. They promised the charge would be removed when we checked out, however, we waited almost an entire week before the charge was returned to our account.

- Friendly/helpful staff, very clean comfortable rooms.

- The room was nice with very comfortable beds and complimentary coffee.
- We were woken up before checkout, by staff wanted to check what furniture items we had in our room. There were also hotel construction noises.

- The free shuttle into town was a wonderful amenity to have.
“I found this hotel to be very comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful and the complimentary shuttle into downtown Chapel Hill made it possible to stay here without a rental car. The drivers were all incredibly accommodating and friendly. The rooms were smaller, but clean and comfortable and the free internet was great. I didn't care for the room service fare, but otherwise, I would highly recommend this hotel for business and pleasure.”

- It was quiet.
- It took very long for things we asked for to be delivered, even though the hotel was practically empty.
“It's definitely not a 3.5 star hotel. I'd maybe give it 2.5 stars. The food was overpriced and horrible (cold by the time it reached our room). The staff seemed put out by the request for extra pillows. The balcony was covered in spider webs and the chairs were dirty, so enjoying a morning cup of coffee on the patio was out of the question. I did enjoy the size of the toiletries though, I have long hair so the extra shampoo and conditioner were actually the right size for what I needed.”

“When the Chapel Hill Sheraton finishes its renovations, I'm sure it will be a more pleasant place to stay. Meanwhile, it is part motel part construction site. Views included train-car scale dumpsters. We were disappointed that a hotel with this rating did not have a complimentary breakfast or refrigerators in the rooms. On the other hand, the bedding was very comfortable.”

- Location, design, functionality.
- Ongoing renovations curtailed some features.
“With three of us traveling together (Husband, wife and adult-sized child) the original room assignment of two double beds was constraining. Management quickly and cheerfully changed us to a King bed with a rollaway, which was a much better solution. We were amused to find in room coffee had Maxwell House packets but paper cups which stated "proudly serving starbucks". Property is in middle of a retrofit, so there were minor inconveniences, but it is a well maintained, clean property.”

- Modern feel to the rooms, several papers to choose from in the lobby, room balcony, free parking.
- Clock radio wasn't on when I came into the room.
“Recently remodeled rooms make this an outstanding place to stay. Free parking, free coffee & tea in the lobby, plus a choice of three free newspapers, and a free business center are all unusual for an upscale hotel such as this one. The rooms offer a balcony, and bathrooms are spacious. Feel is a four star hotel, much better than expected for the three star rating.”

- Hotel under noisy construction- should have been noted. Also wanted to give lesser room.
“This hotel was under major construction. That made these hours (from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily) very unpleasant. This construction looks lengthy and slow. The other rooms on the lower floor were circa 1975- dirty, moldy and unacceptable at the star level. When the renovation is completed- the rating level would be accurate. All in all- the stay was good. Staff was very pleasant. The room service menu was actually fairly tasty and very fast. Remember to request the new rooms- but bring earplugs.”

- Slept very well on the comfortable bed, very quiet.
- Room needed renovations, dingy wallpaper, small bathroom.
“Although the hotel staff in the evening was not helpful, the morning staff were very courteous. We slept like a rock, the room was clean and we had hot water. They granted us our request for a king bed and the rate couldn't be beaten in Chapel Hill. Our room was very small, not much room except for the king bed. We were on the 2nd floor which is in line for renovations. They have already renovated the 3rd floor which I took at look at and is much nicer. The 2nd floor is dark, and our bathroom was very small. In 6 months or a year, depending on how fast they do renovations, all rooms should look like new. The exercise facility was in poor condition but they gave us a free pass to a local health club.”

- The beds are the most comfortable of any hotel we have stayed in.
- The room was older and furniture was nicked, bathroom sink was cracked etc. (hadn't been remodeled yet)
“This hotel was in the process of remodeling, and we had one of the rooms that hadn't been remodeled yet. The room was older and had some signs of wear. It was however, still very nice looking, comfortable and clean. The staff were all so friendly at all times. We really enjoyed our stay and would come back.”
