• It suited all my needs. The bed was warm and comfortable.
• The indoor swimming pool location is unsatisfactory. Very loud and noisy. Even after 8 pm.

“I would think twice about staying at this particular hotel again. The location of the indoor pool in the atrium is unsatisfactory. It is loud and noisy. I had trouble sleeping and there were younger guests making noise in the atrium area at 1 am. Not a great place to stay if you are not young and partying.”

• It was quiet.
• The interior space housing the pool, and into which the interior rooms opened was incredibly hot, humid and smelled horribly of mildew and chlorine.

“Adequate, basic rooms. Although somewhat updated in the common areas of the hotel, the beds were old and somewhat lumpy and the bathroom fixtures were at least 20 years old and showing it. The tub drained very slowly and the water was ankle deep by the end of a shower. Room air conditioning units for interior rooms vented into the central pool area causing it to be stiflingly hot. The strong smell in that area was a combination of mildew and chlorine. We only slept at the hotel, so we braved the smell long enough to get to our room and shut the door. I wouldn't have wanted to sit out in that area or swim in the pool for that reason.”

• It met my expectations as a Holiday Inn.
• Housekeeping needs improvement and the grounds are littered with cigarette butts.

“It's an old but refurbished Holiday Inn: a 3' star for Indiana; not luxury, but probably the best in town. There's a serviceable restaurant, bar, and indoor pool. Halliburton oil/gas workers dominate the guest list. The staff is friendly and helpful.”

• The swimming pool was warm and very enjoyable, there was also a pool table to enjoy.
• I thought the beds should be queen size rather than doubles.

“The front desk clerk, went out of his way to assist me and accommodate my family and myself, from giving me directions to giving me one of his own pencils when we discovered my daughter had lost hers and her homework had to be completed in pencil.”

“We enjoyed this hotel for the convenience, comfortable beds, pillows, nice decor, indoor pool. However, they really have to take care of the odor in the pool, banquet area from the dogs urinating indoors.”

• Too much noise at night. Do too much partying near by rooms. Could not sleep well.

• No elevator, access to 2nd floor on outside up stairs.

“Our room was on the 2nd floor above the indoor pool. Children were screaming until 11 PM and it sounded like they were in the room.”

• The hotel was well located.
• The room smelled weird, previous occupant's hair in shower, food on floor.

“The hotel is well located. I don't believe they ever cleaned around the outside of the hotel. People smoke and throw their butts all over and they were still there the next day. The room smelled like stale smoke, even though it was a non-smoking room. There was hair all over the shower wall from the previous people and we found peanuts on the floor under the bed skirt. Cleaning people cleaned room and left no towels in the morning, brought them at 4:00 pm unexpectedly. The beds were harder than bricks. I was hoping for better.”

• Dining room very slow in morning.

“I liked the hotel very much. Five of us were traveling for a college graduation and we had perfect, adjoining rooms; spent time in the atrium and had a good overnight stay. The only drawback we had was the morning service in the restaurant was just terrible. We received our meals over an hour after we arrived-it was mid-morning on a Sunday-and some of the food was tepid. Plus the waitstaff was completely inattentive. This is the only fault we found with the hotel. It was very nice otherwise.”

• Curtain arrangement lets too much light in.

• Jelly bean small uncomfortable pillows! I literally bought new pillows!

“Holiday Inn lobby is gorgeous, has the old heating and AC window systems, you park outside around the rooms like a Motel environment. Coffee, and paper in the lobby, great location to IUP! Pillows are jelly bean size, even in a king! I went and bought new ones just to sleep! Restaurant said on Friday it was 1 hour wait! Snow fell and some called out, have been handled better waitress was stressed with 5 tables max! Pool was full of cannonball kids under 13, no laps here for adults. Very very small work out area. Nice inner catering area adjacent to pool near restaurant. Accepts dogs!”

• It was clean quiet and the glass wall in the room was nice.
• The hallway had a funny smell.

“This was a great hotel to stay in! The bed was comfortable the pillows were great. You could even order different pillows for free. It was quiet and the area was quiet. Checking out was a breeze. I just signed the paper they left under my door, put it on the desk and left. Awesome stay.”

• Hotel staff was very accommodating.
• Did not get the rooms we needed; only king beds and some were smoking rooms which we needed nonsmoking.

“We had two good nights until the loud talking and banging on the walls from the people in the other rooms. Had to call the desk to quiet the people down at 2:30 am. We were in town for a funeral and did not appreciate the sleepless night.”

• The hotel rooms were very clean and comfortable.
• Understaffed and those staffed seemed under trained.

“The hotel was clean and comfortable, but seemed somewhat of a "ghost town". After several attempts at ordering room service, we had to go to the bar where the staff still seemed unsure of how to provide food (this was at 3 pm). As soon as my kids went into the pool, a staff member came in and added chemicals, forcing everyone out of the pool. The pool had been empty for over and hour and then as soon as we got in they decided to add chemicals.”

• It had a decent restaurant.
• TV malfunctioned, lacked sufficient hot water.

“It was a cold night when we arrived, but we were placed on the outside of the building's set of rooms (as opposed to the ones facing the "dome" inside) - even though the hotel was not nearly full. The hot water didn't work unless we ran the shower on full hot for 10 minutes. Also, there was no remote for the TV, which kept switching off for no reason. Overall, this was pretty disappointing for the price.”

• The location and service was good.
• They were remodeling things so there were many areas unavailable.

“The hotel was remodeling and many of the reasons we choose this hotel were unavailable to us. If we would have known this we would have not have stayed. When traveling with kids its easier if they have something to do at the hotel. I would not stay there again due do the fact the reasons we choose this one weren't there and the hotel offered no refund or adjustments for this. They should let you know that there is remodeling going on. When I called to check on reservations nobody mentioned this either.”

“They had us stay in rooms that were under construction, we couldn't get in the first room they tried to give us b/c there was dry wall stacked against the door. There were boards, buckets, drywall, tools and stuff everywhere. There was a sign on the wall that said danger does not enter: construction area. If the place is that torn up for construction they shouldn't have people staying there.”

“I was very disappointed at this property. They had the pool drained for repairs. I was charged for local calls as long distance ones. I believe my credit card was billed for my stay even though it had already been paid. Not a very good experience.”

• Old tired facility- in need of updating.

“Lobby is nice, the staff is great, the rooms are fine but the hallway to the rooms has worn out carpets, missing screens to the outside with open windows and the room air conditioning exhaust exits into the hallway. This holidome plan needs to be redesigned and remodeled.”
