“This hotel is in a nice private setting off the road a couple miles.” Nov 28, 2009 by

“Very nice hotel. Great for golfers.” Sep 5, 2009 by
Danielle from Ennis,TX
“Love, love, love this place. This was our second time staying here through Priceline. Hope to be back.” Aug 29, 2009 by
Therese Black from Philippi,WV
“very acomadating , very respectful staff and friendly very intuned with their patrons needs and I could see them go above even this if needed. Very clean and this hotel /spa / golf-course was in very upkept condition even all the landscape ect....” Aug 21, 2009 by
Lee Ann from Washington,NC
“Lakeview is in a beautiful setting. The facilities are showing their age, and could use an update. The one thing I noticed is that there were dishes from room service on the floor in the hall, and remained their for my entire visit. I did check in one evening and out late the next morning. I know that house keeping was on the floor during the night, so I would think that they would have picked up the dishes.” Aug 20, 2009 by
Mandy from Caldwell,OH
“The hotel seemed very nice until we entered our room. It was clean, but not at all what we had expected. We were both exhausted the next day because the bed was so uncomfortable and the sheets felt like sandpaper. Also, the hotel is called Lakeview Resort and Spa,however, the only time I saw the lake was on the destination there from the interstate.” Aug 10, 2009 by
John from New Martinsville,WV
“The motel was built in the 50's but has been well maintained and updated. Room was very clean and nicely decorated. Maintenance was good-bathroom and facilities Were good - no leaks or concerns. General condition of building and grounds was exceptional. Quiet setting. Beds comfortable.” Jul 24, 2009 by
Jennifer from Bloomington,IN
“We typed in the address to the hotel in our GPS and it led us to the next exit to the back of a trailer park! It was not easy to find in the dark and it's not right off the highway. It has an older feel to it and it didn't feel exceptionally clean, at least not for 3.5 stars. We were not looking to golf so that didn't impress us. The bathroom was so small and the room not very big either. Our room was in a very high traffic area so noisy in the morning.” Jul 10, 2009 by
Jacqueline from Elkins,WV “I have stayed here before. They were very nice in the Winter and let me check in very early. I have attended conferences there and they do a very nice job. There are a couple restaurants and one has a beautiful view of the lake.” Jun 23, 2009 by
Alice from Erie,PA
“I would recommend this hotel as a nice place to stay. No complaints. Rooms, halls and pools were all well kept.” Jun 20, 2009 by
Jean-Luc from Germantown,MD
“The hotel is clean and the food is not expensive.” Jun 4, 2009 by
CJ from Chicago,IL
“Hotel was very clean and has amenities of golf and swimming. Not as close to some attractions as hotel says. Older hotel but clean rooms and friendly staff.” May 26, 2009 by
Ken from Lexington,OH
“We very much enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and comfortable. The AC unit was only barely adequate. For sleeping we would have preferred cooler. Staff was very friendly, check in/check out was quick. The sports bar had great sandwiches and looks out over the golf course.” May 8, 2009 by
Shannon from Jacksonville,FL
“It is not a 3.5 star hotel. It was okay, but nothing great. The was were extremely thin. Any door that closed on the hall, you could hear it. The alarm went off in the next room and I thought it was mine; I could hear the words of the song on the radio alarm. If you are wanting to stay in Morgantown proper, don't stay here because it is too far from town. Oh, and it claims that it is a hotel with a view, couldn't be further from the truth. I did, however, have a nice view of the parking lot.” May 4, 2009 by
Judy from Parkersburg,WV
“It is a wonderful place to visit if you are a golfer or a quiet place to rest if traveling on business. The staff is fabulous - from the front desk to the restaurant. Everyone is caring, respectful and welcoming. The fitness center is amazing! I have stayed at the Lake view Resort on several occasions and always love returning there.” Mar 25, 2009 by
Stu from Mt Lake Park,MD
“This hotel has been remodeled recently and recent poor reviews should be ignored. Elevator has been installed and rooms are beautiful, clean and spacious. Staff is friendly and helpful. Restaurant has poor food and misleading prices and unfortunately there isn't much else nearby.” Mar 15, 2009 by
Michael from Wheeling,WV
“When I travel to Morgantown, I always stay at lake view. Excellent value for the dollar, and if you like to golf, this is the spot to stay.” Jan 10, 2009 by
Vickie from Hampton, NJ
“Overall, we had a good stay at Lakeview Resort. It could do with a makeover. I would not want to stay there when they have a football game in town. We were there in January. It was quiet. Word has it that the team stays there when it is football season.” Oct 11, 2008 by
Amy
“Lakeview is primarily a golf resort, but worked well for my purposes. Had to dodge many golfers while trying to leave the next morning.” Oct 4, 2008 by
Beth from Maryland
“This was by far the worst hotel experience we have ever had on almost every single level, from room cleanliness to customer service. I would strongly suggest that you stay at the Holiday Inn Express which has large new rooms, a hot breakfast bar including omelets, waffles, coffee pastries, etc. A nice indoor pool for a little. The Lakeview Golf Resort must make most of their profits on golfing packages, otherwise I have no idea how else they could manage to stay in business.” Sep 9, 2008 by
Stacy
“This hotel was fine. The staff was nice.” Aug 26, 2008 by
Gareth from Washington, DC
“This was great for what we wanted - somewhere to sleep while driving from DC to Ohio. Room was comfortable enough. Nice setting (golf course looks good) but I don't think the hotel makes the most of it with the rooms - they all seem to look out on the car park. As we were just in and out we didn't use any of the hotel facilities. We had a look at Morgantown on our way through and were glad we ended up out by the lake!” Aug 18, 2008 by
Mike from Lewisberry, PA
“This is my 2nd time coming to the resort and I would love to come back. The rooms are great and very clean. My son really enjoyed his stay as well.” Aug 18, 2008 by
Shawn from Old Saybrook, CT
“Nice spot with all the bells and whistles. Needs to concentrate on cleaning and help at the restaurant (slow).” Aug 17, 2008 by
Tom from Waynesboro, PA
“Great place for the golfer.” Aug 14, 2008 by
Matt from Washington, DC
“The hotel wisely decided to renovate rooms before hallways. The room was fairly nice with a new bed and sheets. Everything was clean, though some of the other furniture could probably use replacement soon as well. It was still functional but obviously long in the tooth. The front desk was fairly polite. I have no major complaints.” Aug 12, 2008 by
Greg from Biddeford, ME
“This hotel was in a very nice setting with a good restaurant that took advantage of the golf course setting. A lot of the public areas had were in need of new carpeting and updated paint. The Wi-Fi did not reach the wing that my room was in and the front office was not helpful to resolve this issue. I was traveling on business so an internet connection in my room was expected and necessary instead I was stuck connecting to the internet in a public space.” Aug 12, 2008 by
Linda from Vermilion, OH
“We had a restful evening in a clean room and the staff from the laundry, maintenance and front desk were friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed our visit and will come back again.” Aug 8, 2008 by
Janice from Mishawaka, IN
“They placed us in the old section. I would not give this a 3 star rating. Everyone in this large building was complaining of the lack of an elevator and having to carry heavy luggage up to the 3rd floor.” Aug 7, 2008 by
Mark from Evanston, IL
“I knew what to expect because I've been there before. Went for a wedding held there, overall the experience was great. I asked for a quiet room and the clerk put me in the quietest room in the house. The place is really geared to the golfer as the hotel is in the middle of a golf course. Nearby natural areas like Cheat Lake and hiking trails at Cooper's Rock are a plus for others.” Jul 30, 2008 by
Metta from Preston, MD
“Excellent accommodations.” Jul 28, 2008 by
Jason from Leonardtown, MD
“Would have liked my stay if not for the bad smell in the room coming from the shower curtain. Very nice, scenic location.” Jul 21, 2008 by
Cedric from Charleston, WV
“I am very fortunate. This is a fabulous place to stay and I enjoy it each time I visit.” Jul 17, 2008 by
Tizzy from Harrisburg, NC
“We got 2 rooms for my wife and me and when we got there at 2 AM, there were no adjoin rooms. Infect we were on different sides of the hotel. I then had to wait until we found out that the rooms were clean. (The night manager did not know). Then I had to accept 2 smoking rooms not connected. Second, internet access was totally non-existent. The server was either overloaded or down all day. I ended up having to leave my room to use the computer next to the check in area. The food was good, but there were huge and I mean huge roaches in the evening around the outdoor bar. Once crawled right next to my wifes drink, on the table. I told the bartender and there was not a lot of concern. The outdoor pool is nice and well staffed, water was very clean and there was a lot of room to pay, swim or sun. The golf course ate too many golf balls. But that is MY fault.” Jul 15, 2008 by
Tina from Hampton, VA
“This is a beautiful resort with condos and hotel rooms. It is very spread out with different wings of hotel rooms. Be prepared to carry your luggage quite a distance. I also did not see any elevators or signs for elevators, so I ended up having to get my luggage up 2 flights of stairs. Other than that, it was a very pleasant stay. Nice view, relaxing rooms and excellent room service!” Jul 15, 2008 by
Ray from Oak Ridge, NC
“Close to the interstate, easy check in/ out, not as nice as expected for the price.” Jul 3, 2008 by
Dharm from Arlington, VA
“This hotel is a nice place but a little far out of town. It's also dated and some cosmetic upgrades don't hide the air conditioning/heating unit in rooms that sounds like a truck. Also, the hotel charges a $1.00 a night safe warranty fee and sneakily doesn't offer a printout of your charges until after you have paid.” Jul 2, 2008 by
Elaine from Springfield, VA
“It was a nice resort hotel. The facilities they provided were great. We didn't like the Sunday morning brunch hours - they ended at 10:00 a.m. Should have been offered until at least 11:00 or noon. We enjoyed our stay though. The grounds were beautiful in spite of the rain. Thank you.” Jun 15, 2008 by
Peter from Columbia, MD
“I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and service at this hotel. I'm guessing that the renovations have made a big difference. This was my first visit, but I can recommend this hotel without hesitation.” Jun 8, 2008 by
Jon from Bear, DE
“The site was beautiful but a little off the i-68 path and in construction area made somewhat confusing to find. Staff ok, but room 1/2 mile drives away. Entered building and was about knocked over from cigarette smell. Ice & vending machines looked like they were from the 70's. Entered room, it was fine. Very clean but dated with small TV and few channels. Room was quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was good but a bit pricey ($13 a person). It served purpose, but doubt I would stay there again.” Jun 7, 2008 by
Shawn from Old Saybrook, CT
“The hotel was clean & very organized for a businessman to use.” May 22, 2008 by
Roberta from Winston-Salem, NC
“Recommended for golf trip or business trip. Rooms are clean, but not up to 3* quality.” May 19, 2008 by
Aram from Seattle, WA
“Quiet neighborhood in a spectacular golf course with friendly staff.” May 18, 2008 by
Ronni from Buffalo, NY
“This is a clean and beautiful hotel with spacious resort grounds. All the staff are helpful and professional. The spa amenities are quite nice and reasonably priced. An excellent value.” May 18, 2008 by
Jason from Beaver, WV
“If you want to go somewhere to have a few beers and snacks after a round of golf, this is your place. Just don't expect it to live up to the resort standard, you are accustomed to elsewhere.” May 15, 2008 by
Carol from Cincinnati, OH
“The hotel is excellent for golfers or those who wish to utilize the spa. The rooms are adequate with amenities. Although it is called lakeside, there is no view of the lake.” May 14, 2008 by
Raja from Alexandria, VA
“It was pretty nice but was little far from Morgantown. Other than that, it was a really nice place with the golf and pools etc. clean rooms. Decent hotels staff. They have vending machines on every floor + the indoor pool and Jacuzzi. Definitely recommend it to someone not too keen on going to M'towm often.” May 12, 2008 by
Prakash from Painted Post, NY
“Great place to stay. Excellent golf courses. Would like to have more power outlets in the room and also a wash basin outside the bathroom.” May 10, 2008 by
Kristi from Dover, PA
“Okay, if you're hard up for a room, which I was not.”
