• The hotel staff was nice.
• Hotel should be demolished and rebuilt! everything is outdated from the lobby to room to elevators!

“I will not stay at this hotel again. The hotel is extremely outdated and in need of remodeling. The halls, rooms, and lobby are dark, gloomy, scary and depressing. I have never been afraid to sleep in a hotel until this one. There is no security the hotel is accessible 24 hours with no restrictions. I felt unsafe in the room alone. I had to clean the bathroom floor because it smelled. The staff did the best they could with what they had.”

• It was in a good area and very friendly.
• Pet friendly hotel but did not have any walking areas.

• The price.
• The maintenance and upkeep was lacking, the breakfast was lacking the necessary staffing and was costly.

“The overall staff was very nice and tried to be accommodating. The bathroom was not cleaned very well. Long black hairs lined the tub. The breakfast was good, but expensive and only one waitress was available to serve upwards of a dozen or more tables.”

• Perfect size and comfort for a business traveler. However be careful about the smoking rooms avoid at all costs.
  

“I enjoyed staying at the Clarion, and plan to continue staying at this hotel when I travel weekly for business. Many competitors in the area that will charge you for internet, providing uncomfortable beds, small rooms, with double the cost. The Clarion is by no means the kind of place that you use to impress your significant other, however, if you’re looking for value look no further. Do take my advice on one thing while staying at this hotel; avoid rooms that are close to the elevator, and avoid the smoking rooms if a good nights sleep is what you are after.
”

• Good location, easy access to main highways.
• The hotel staff wasn't interested in fixing the above problem, just make excuses for why the room wasn't cleaned.

“Good location, easy access to the shopping areas and close to a gas station. The pool was closed. The staff needs to understand that we are the customer, and not just sit around talking to each other.”

• Friendly staff at the front desk.
• Located just behind a Gentelmens club.

“While the staff was friendly and our stay there was managable, I did not approve of the location. The rooms were outdated and not in great shape. In our bathroom the toiletpaper holder was falling out of the wall and there was a hole in the wall that was stuffed with paper, I'm assuming that was their way of a temporary repair. I would not recomend this hotel.”

• We had to change rooms because of saggy bed and they switched us no questions asked.
• They said their was breakfast included but it was extra when we got there.

“The first room was not clean and the bed sagged. They did switch us easily for the second night. The breakfast was not included.”

• Friendly Staff.
• Rooms need to be updated.

“The hotel staff was friendly and responsive to our needs. Our room had the standard set up (bed, desk, drawers, and TV) and was clean. However, there was only one set of bath towels when we arrived. The lounge was well stocked but the draught beer was too warm. According to other patrons this was a continuing problem. The outdoor pool was clean and sizeable. Overall this was a basic hotel nothing bad, nothing great.”

“The room was smoky. I did end up enjoying my stay. Now that I know I can upgrade to a room with a microwave and fridge, I wouldn't mind staying there again.”

• The rooms didn't appear clean. Noisy AC, noisy businesses next door.

“I have yet to have an enjoyable stay at this hotel (4th time staying, hopefully the last time). Breakfast is not offered as complimentary, however, there is nothing stating this fact. The staff is not professional nor friendly to customers.”

“The hotel was ok. I would expect free breakfast from a 2.5 to 3.0 star hotel. I travel a lot going to basketball tournaments and normally breakfast is one of the perks. Besides not liking the location I probably wouldn't stay there again.”

• Easy to get to.
• No attention to detail especially maintenance and cleaning.

“It was apparent that management was not paying attention to the details. There was toothpaste from the previous occupant on the faucet in the bathroom. The phone at the desk did not work and the outlets at the desk were unplugged because there were not enough receptacles available. The coffee mugs were not sanitized properly and the chair at the desk was not adjustable to a height that anyone less than 6'6" could use. I am 6' and I was still excessively low even at the tallest chair adjustment. Maintenance brought a new chair but it was the same. Worst of all they forgot my wakeup call. Not recommended based on my experience.”

“After the front desk, everything about this hotel was dismal. Sink very slow to drain, toilet slow to flush, no desk or plug available for computer, calls to housekeeping not answered, lock on door didn't work (even after repair ) furniture very dark. I assume to hide the dirty fabric. A dismal experience. Thankful it was only one night.”

• The hotel quality and staff performance do not meet my expectations for 2-1/2 star.

“This is the second time in 6 months I've stayed at the hotel and the second time that the electronic keys I received did not work. In fact on this one, the replacement keys I was provided did not work and had to have the room changed due to an inapt door lock mechanism. The pool area, while clean, has old lounge chairs and the pool water was cloudy.”

“Overall I had a very pleasant stay. The only real problems I had were that the furnishings in the room were obviously old with many spots that were worn. The hotel also had a very odd smell in the hallways and elevator.”

• The bed.
• Poor service and old facilities.

“The weight room said state of the art and it was a complete joke with outdated and broken equipment. The bathroom was horrible. The tub was nasty and dripping, they put wall paper over the old nasty bathroom walls. The ceiling had brown spots also. However, to make the visit worst - we asked for a king size bed and they tried to put us in a room with twin beds - the receptionist told us to push the beds together! Are you serious! Never again.”

• The initial greeting was great.
• Noise and our clothes were ruined.

“I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. There was a large group of kids there and they were not quiet and the hotel tried once to quiet them and that was it. We left numerous complaints and it was not justified. Their air conditioning unit leaked all over the floor and our belongings were not compensated.”

“I chose this hotel for its proximity to Guildford College. That is its main attraction. It's clean and the bed was comfortable. Not bad for a night or two, but not memorable either.”

“We were put in a room next to the entrance and elevator. Very loud noises throughout the night until 2 a.m., people walking in and out laughing and screaming. WiFi drops off every other minute due to weak signals, TV remote doesn't work, carpet looks like not being vacuumed for ages.”

• Pretty run down and not as clean as it should be.

“We were only there for 5 hours so didn't see most of the facilities. What I didn't like is they had a sign suggesting a breakfast that would be free with a coupon for staying there. We ate breakfast (which wasn't very good) then went to get the coupons and were told it didn't apply to our room I had to pay $17.00 for a crap breakfast.”

“The hotel staff were friendly, however the room did not meet my expectation. I asked for a room for two travelers, the room had one full sized bed. The toilet was stopped up with waste from a previous guest. Campers were running through the halls all hours of the night. There were a pair of soiled panties in the hallway.”

• Room size and room furnishings, comfortable bed.
• Common areas were thread bare.

“This location is convenient to I-40 and I-85 and the airport. It also has good access to western Greensboro. The room was very spacious and it was furnished well. There is a restaurant on-site; for fast food or other choices there is nothing within walking distance but there are several options within a 10 minute drive. The common areas and halls of the hotel are a little dark and threadbare but the room was fine.”

• Mailed earrings to me that wife forgot.
• The bath tub was stopped up and I didnt fin out till 1am. They didnt fix it while I was there.

“The hotel was great! The only problem I has was that after going to a concert and coming back to my room at 1am, I had to take a shower with a stopped up tub. I was standing in 6inches of water by the time that I was done.”
