- Loft bedroom with living area on 1st floor with small staircase to loft.

- The suite was on two levels. So one can watch TV on 1 level ; sleep on another.
- I found the A/C did not circulate well to the upper level which made the room a little stuffy for sleeping.
“This hotel is located in the historic district and close to many nice restaurants that you can easily walk to. If you have a car with you, parking is $19.00/night. The breakfast buffet is $12.99.”

“My husband and I enjoyed our stay-couldn't beat the location! Note to other travelers considering this hotel-parking isn't free! The hotel will charge you $19 a day for valet parking, or there's a public lot across the street for $12 a day. The valet parking is worth every penny, though parking is at a premium in Downtown Charleston and we were happy to pay in order not to have to worry about it.”

“Clean, but dated interiors, place needs a facelift. Very inconvenient parking, in fact, there isn't any, you have to use the valet. This was an annoyance. Layout of hotel room strange, "suite" style that makes the room feel small, dark, and cramped. Bed was awesome. Best thing about it is the location, but your better off going to one of the smaller, more quaint hotels nearby.”

- We liked the separate living room next to the bedroom.
- The breakfast did not meet our expectations at all. The breakfast room did not have a nice atmosphere and it was too expensive.

- Could have used a bit more coffee/cream in room.
“The hotel itself was wonderful, but to stay there parking became a problem. A public lot across the street was about $12.00 for a day; but if you left your car overnight, it had to be moved by midnight and faced additional charges. That left only valet service which was $19.00. Added to that a tip and the daily room rate rose considerably. A lower valet/parking rate might entice more travelers. I realize that in the historic area, parking might be at a premium; however, I would have liked to factor that in prior to my visit. Hidden cost make for perturbed travelers and no one wants to start a vacation a bit disgruntled.”

- I loved the historic look/architecture and having a living room downstairs and bedroom upstairs.
- The bathroom was small and the noise of the horseshoes woke us up very early in the morning.
“You can't ask for a better location! It's beautiful and the beds are so comfortable. The only downside of the charming suites is the small bathroom and make sure you don't stay on the side that's across from the carriage company - it's great to watch the horses start their day, but the noise of them getting their shoes put on can wake you up.”

“Super location. Right in the middle of the market, with tons of restaurants and shops. Our room was bi-level, so not good for those with physical disabilities, but we saw some on all one level. Our room was okay, but could use a bathroom renovation. Be aware that valet parking is $19.00/night. You can park in the garage (steps around the corner) for much less.”

- The room was a junior suite with refrigerator & microwave, two story rooms; really nice! Staff was exceptional!
- The streets outside smelled from the horse carriage rides, they were kept clean but still an odor.
“The front desk staff was superior, I ended up doing more business than planned and they exceptional helpful. The room was a suite, which was a great surprise and it was located right in the heart of town, across from Market Streets. A nice walk to the battery and the marina too!”

- The doubletree had everything I needed: wireless internet, a fitness center, a central location, laundry facilities, and comfort.
- The only downsides were expensive parking and a charge for wireless internet in the rooms (it was free in the lobby).
“I very much enjoyed my two nights at the doubletree. The staff was kind enough to let me check in three hours early and all the amenities were top-notch. After a week on the road, I had to do laundry, which was easily and affordably accomplished; I was desperate for a good night's sleep and I got two (I want that bed). The fitness room is small but has everything I need, while the location right off market street was conveniently central. I loved the suite, and only wish Id thought ahead to make use of the fridge and microwave.”

“It was a very nice, clean hotel, and the staff was very nice. The 5th floor had a strong paint odor however, and the parking was rather pricey. I also had a lot of trouble finding the hotel, because there was very little signage, and it blended in with the rest of the city block. This may have been intentional since it was in historic downtown; however, it made finding the hotel difficult. I would definitely stay there again.”

- I didnt like that I was not informed when booking the reservation that parking was an additional charge. The hotel's carpet looked much worn out.

- Great location, the beds were very comfortable.
- No parking except valet or pay lot.

- The price that I got it for.
- Some of the staffs friendliness.
“This was a pretty nice Hotel for the price that I paid. I wasn't exactly impressed with the friendliness of the Hotel staff. I believe that part of the problem is in most tourist towns people are ready for battle with the many unfriendly visitors that they receive each day and this is problem the reason for the unfriendliness. The Hotel overall was a pretty nice experience.”

- The decor and service was wonderful.
- We couldn't get a third day.
“Double Tree hotel was wonderful. The North Charleston Inn had black mold on the walls.”

- Honestly. I have no complaints.
“It's rare that a hotel pleasantly surprises you, but this is one of those instances. Beautiful loft suites, excellent front desk + valet staff, outstanding location, hassle-free as can be.”
