• Location, staff, cookies, over all good hotel.
• Charge per day for internet and parking.

“Nice hotel. GREAT location. Fairly rated. Friendly/helpful staff. Comfy beds. Fantastic cookies. We would certainly stay here again. What we didn't like they charge $9.95 per day for internet access. We thought this was absurd. Also, there is no parking so you have to pay $19 per day for valet parking plus tip. Still, we liked the hotel and would stay here again.”

• Nice common areas, close to downtown.
• Rooms dated, expensive parking.

“This hotel was right smack bang in the center of the action of downtown Charles town so is the perfect location if you want to just stroll to the market or the restaurants. The lobby is lovely beautiful areas to sit in if you are in a crowd. Staff very helpful and we were upgraded when we learned that there we not two beds in our room. However, rooms do need to be updated, the bathrooms are tiny and the non smoking rooms smell of smoke. Grand for a night but would not like to be staying there for more than one day.”

• Very friendly staff, great location, liked the suite.
• The valet took forever.

“Warm big cookies on arrival, great room. Had my husband and two teenagers. Suite was big enough for all of us. No pool but not to worry. Lots to do right outside the door.”

• One of, if not, best bed that I have slept in. Great location in historic district - next to market.
• Did not like paying $20 daily for valet parking. Might have been able to use parking across street, if I'd known in advance. Location was good.

“Overall the hotel was an excellent selection. Location for sightseeing, shopping and eating couldn't be beat. Will certainly try to stay here again when I return to Charleston.”

• Great location and
  beautiful hotel.
• Parking. $20 was a little much for valet.

“This hotel is beautiful, clean and located in the heart of downtown Charleston. I was't overly happy with the $20+ for valet parking, but didn't have much of a choice. Sure wasn't enough to change my mind about what a great hotel this is.”

“This hotel was all we were looking for. It was located in the historic district close to everything we wanted to do. The room was perfect a loft so we had two living areas. Our room was very clean and manicured looking. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We will stay there again.”

“We had a great time for our anniversary. It was in incredible location. I would recommend this place, as staff was more than helpful. The second valet made us feel awkward until he had a good enough tip in his mind. It was amazing other than that.”

• Had to go through outside courtyard to get from entrance/desk to room (several roaches in courtyard at night & rain in pm).

“Beautiful & comfortable accommodations located in the heart of Downtown Charleston. Very pleased with cleanliness of room as well. Some staff overwhelmingly more service oriented than others. The gentleman checking in beside me received a much warmer welcome & was more helpful than the clerk. Experienced several problems accessing complimentary wireless internet. Unfriendly, unhelpful front desk supervisor at checkout needs to be demoted back to bellhop.”

• Parking. Garage next door is expensive and does not allow in/out service.

“The accommodations exceeded my expectations. Location was great & within walking distance of restaurants and attractions within the historic area. All staff members I came in with whom I came in contact were friendly, courteous & extremely helpful. I truly enjoyed my stay in Charleston & would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to friends who may plan to visit the area.”

“This hotel has an excellent location in downtown Charleston. However, the room was small and did not have a coffeemaker. Housekeeping did not replace our used glasses or empty the ice bucket. We also found a nail polish bottle under the bed. The newspaper was not delivered the second day, but the gentleman at the front desk was able to find us a copy. The staff was friendly.”

“Staff was excellent, and rooms were large though odd shaped. From the time of arrival, staff offered friendly greetings and any level of assistance required. Front desk was very knowledgeable and informative of local attractions, and were willing to take care of any request as if they were a free concierge service! Very comfortable beds, and clean / organized rooms, hallways and common areas. One really nice touch was the two private, and one shared courtyards which were very relaxing and great to take a drink.”

• Location. Plus the bed was very comfortable.
• The bathroom was small and the vanity/sink is located in the bedroom.

“You can not be the location of this hotel. It was within walking distance to most of the attractions downtown and had several good restaurants. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying downtown to see the sites.”

• The room we were in had a sitting room down and a loft upstairs. Great.
• They served breakfast, but no room service or other meals. And, no bar.

“Loved this hotel. When we first walked in I didn't see any beds, only a sitting room. Then, we went up these stairs and there were two very comfortable beds in a loft. It was great!”

• The atmosphere in this hotel is very nice, the room was tastefully decorated, and the bed & pillows were comfortable and towels were so soft.
• It would be nice to have the access to computers in a more private space and with seating included.

“I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again, and would highly recommend it to my friends, the rooms are nicely decorated the beds & pillows(down)are very comfortable, the towels are even soft and smell good, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful, you also get a warm cookie when you check in, Nice touch! Great location, thanks for the memories!”

“This is a great hotel. At check in, they give kids a backpack and cookie. The location cannot be beat. The staff is friendly-they will upgrade you if they can. We have stayed in all types of rooms and they are great.”

• Bellboy terribly rude.

“We got off to a very bad start when the bellboy watched us carry all our bags from the car to the front of the hotel, about 50 feet, and then asked us if we could carry them into the hotel while he spoke with a friend. We asked him to put them on a trolley and when he grudgingly complied we tipped him and received not only no thank you but he refused to make eye contact or even speak to us. A very bad start.”

• Historic downtown location, within walking distance to many attractions.
• Loft bedroom with living area on 1st floor with small staircase to loft.

“Great staff and the location was excellent, historic downtown with all kinds of shopping and great restaurants. Penninsula Restaurant 4 star right next door great dining, parking garage 1 block away. Room needed some updating but was clean and comfortable.”

• The suite was on two levels. So one can watch TV on 1 level ; sleep on another.
• I found the A/C did not circulate well to the upper level which made the room a little stuffy for sleeping.

“This hotel is located in the historic district and close to many nice restaurants that you can easily walk to. If you have a car with you, parking is $19.00/night. The breakfast buffet is $12.99.”
