- Staff treated us as second rate. Also they did not clean our room 2nd night. Valet parking was too expensive for level of service provided.
“The hotel is nice in appearance, but staff was not as friendly as I would expect of a so called 3 star upscale hotel. They did not clean our room or restock towels etc. on our second day. The room's air conditioner smelled of mold and made us sick when we wakeup the next morning. Hotel management said 'nothing is wrong with it'. You are forced to use their lots at $18 per day for weekend and $20 per weekday for parking and the valet service was poor. Room service food was very good, although prices were high. Gratuity was automatically included, but server scoffed that we did not tip her on top of the $10 we were forced to tip her (not including the $3 service fee) to bring the food up the elevator to the room door. The room was small, and I felt like we were stuffed in the back corner of the hotel. They were very underbooked, but I felt like we got the worst room in the hotel.”

- It's clean, it's close by everything, & the staff is great.
- The pool closes to early.
“My daughter is attending school in Pittsburgh, so I will be traveling there a lot. I have now stayed at a couple of hotels and doubletree is by far the nicest that we have stayed at. The staff is wonderful, the rooms are spotless, and the location can not be beat. Will recommend this hotel to everyone.”

- My wife and I liked the cleanliness, security and location of the hotel.
- It was difficult for friends of ours to find a parking space on the street.
“From check-in to check-out the experience was excellent. The room was incredibly clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The view from the 19th floor was superior. The staff was driven to go "above and beyond" so as to make our entire stay a very positive one!”

- This hotel had the friendliest staff I've ever experienced.
- The parking was a bit pricy but the overall experience made it worth it.
“The Doubletree Hotel Pittsburgh City Center was the absolute best experience to my recollection I've experienced in quite some time. The staff was the greatest and went above and beyond to attend to it's patrons needs. The parking was a bit pricy, but the location, the cleanliness of the hotel, combined with the greatest staff I've experienced made it all worth it. My birthday was a couple of days earlier and this was the perfect stay to end off the week. It was truly the candle on the cake.”

- The fitness center.
- Charging for overnight parking. This was extremely exorbitant.
“I will not stay at this hotel again, due to the extremely high fee for parking in the garage. I would have parked on the street, but the neighborhood is unsafe at night. As I had my two children with me, I had no choice but to park in the garage. Parking should be provided as part of the hotel's regular services. Next time I will find a hotel that doesn't try to gouge me.”

- They had fresh cookies every afternoon.
- A/C in my room was broke and they couldn't fix it.
“The A/C in my room was broken. They sent a maintenance man to fix it, he could not fix it. They told me that they did not have another room available for me. So I was stuck in a room that I couldn't breath in because it smelled like an ashtray and was 85 degrees the entire weekend I thought it was handled poorly I asked to speak with a manager and was told there was not one available and he be in contact with me but that was the last I heard about it. This is the first bad experience I have had. I just felt like I was treated like a 2nd class citizen.”

- Paying for parking when you have already paid for hotel is terrible. $23.00 to park on top of room? Geez. Not staying there again.

- TV was bad, Monday morning noisy due to hotel repairs also tub in need of refurbishing, mattress not comfortable needs updating.
“Hotel common areas very attractive, room decor ok, but bed/mattress was not very comfortable. Bathroom bathtub needs replaced. Shower rod was normal not the bowed type and bathroom lighting was too dim. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Hotel restaurant was rated 4 stars but menu was quite limited so we did not eat there. Would be nice to have a cafe' or some other food option inside the hotel beside the attached 7 11 shop.”

“There was a horrible odor in the hallway that was absolutely nauseating everytime we walked by it to get to our room. (There was a sign on one of the doors that said trash. I assume that's where the odor was coming from.) The floor we were on was empty, and they put a woman right next door to us who coughed constantly and kept us awake all night long. I was actually tempted to knock on her door and tell her to go to the ER for a breathing treatment. I complained to the front desk and all they said was sorry about that. I would not stay at this hotel again. Also, the bed was very uncomfortable and parking costs a fortune. There is nowhere to park without it costing a ridiculous amount of money. ($40.00 for two days) Not a good review for a Hilton Hotel.”

- Parking was more expensive than my car rental.
“The Doubletree in downtown Pittsburgh is a very nice hotel in a great location, walking distance to the business and cultural districts with easy access to the major freeways. It's also across the street from Steel Plaza subway station. Parking, however, was $20/day for garage valet, and this exceeded the cost of my rental car. My only significant complaint about the accommodations is that I was at first placed in smoking room despite having requested non-smoking weeks ago. However the 2nd day of my stay they moved me without incident. Room service was fast, but I felt the on-site restaurant was over-priced. Other amenities worth mentioning include the wonderful full-service gym, which featured an indoor swimming pool. I also appreciated the impressively fast high-speed internet in my room. I was able to print from my room to the hotel printer, which is great for a business traveler. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, but would advise against bringing a car. If you have a laptop to look up bus routes, public transportation/walking will save you a lot of money.”

- The location in Downtown Pittsburgh was very convenient.
- I was surprised to find out that valet parking was the only parking option.
“My family visited this hotel for a one day stay while visiting the Carnegie Science Center. After having some trouble figuring out how to get into the parking garage I was surprised when the attendant told me it was valet-only. Parking was $18/night which is steep. Aside from that, the hotel was extremely nice. The staff was friendly except for the fitness club desk attendant who was a little stuffy about our use of the pool.”

“Hotel was fairly nice overall, and convenient to Downtown Pittsburgh, however the rooms were not sound proof at all. Both nights of my stay I was awakened by other guests returning to room. The second night the other guests decided to throw a party with plenty of people and singing with guitars. It sounded like it might have been fun if I had not been trying to sleep.”

- The warm choc chip cookies at check-in! The shuttle service.
- We didn't get the best directions from valet - it's easy to get lost in Pittsburgh.

- Beds were extremely comfortable, friendly staff, they went out of their way to help us with transportation needs.
- Only one restaurant to choose from. We were looking for something a little faster.

- Clean and friendly. Always give cookies to welcome you!
- Layout of the room made moving from bedroom to bathroom a little difficult.
“I would highly recommend this hotel. It is comfortable and near the Downtown area. It was clean and had a shuttle available until 10:30. This hotel welcomes you with warm cookies upon registering. This seemed to be a nice way of making you feel at home.”

- Forced to valet car for an extra $20/night.

- The staff was nice, great location, the room was nice too.
- Bathroom was too small, no exhaust fan, walkway between parking and hotel did not represent the nice quality level that this hotel was.
“The Doubletree is in a great location, the cookies at check in are always yummy and the room was nice except that the bathroom is very small. It would not have been good for more than one person needing to get ready at the same time and no exhaust fan to keep the mirror from fogging up. The staff was very nice and helpful too. The parking costs were very high ($20 weekdays, $18 weekends) and the walkway from the garage to the hotel could be cleaned up, work finished there to provide a better feeling when entering the hotel as the hotel is much nicer than what it appears walking in. The workout facility and pool was top notch! My biggest complaint was the traffic noise on both the 10th and 15th floors. I'd recommend staying up as high as possible.”
