- We were upgraded to a suite which gave us extra room.
- The pool was not available on Sunday evening.
“The place was great. Our suite was very nice, the location was convenient to downtown shopping and restaurants, and the shuttle service was very wonderful in taking us to places beyond walking distance. Great experience!”

“The hotel's location is excellent, within an easy walk of much to see. The room itself was small, but clean. We did not have time to use the pool or other facilities. The cookies at check-in were a nice touch and staff was very friendly and helpful.”

- The location and shuttle service was wonderful.
- Parking cost was very expensive.
“We were so delighted to find that the hotel was within walking distance of all the places we wanted to see in Pittsburgh. They also provided a shuttle service free of charge to any place downtown that we wanted to see. The rooms were very comfortable. We did not hear anything at all. We loved the small office area for computer WiFi service. All in all, we were very pleased and have recommended to many of our friends.”

- I felt comfortable as soon as I walked into the lobby.
- My room was laid out a little weird but it was ok.
“The hotel was comfortable and tastefully decorated. The common areas were clean and comfortable. I did not have much time in the hotel on this trip so I did not get to check out the fitness center or restaurants but I will definitely stay there again if I return to Pittsburgh.”

- The service was excellent and it was very clean and nice.
- Had to use valet and bell boy.
“Overall we loved this hotel. We have never stayed anywhere with valet and bell boys before, so that was strange for us. Also the free shuttle was late and we ended up not being able to use it. Overall this was a great experience though!”

- Location was perfect-room size was perfect (we upgraded to "suite")- treated like we were important.
- Pool/club people did not like kids- very smart/short/rude with kids-made us feel uncomfortable.
“We wanted downtown appeal for shopping/atmosphere/sight seeing/baseball/etc. This hotel has close proximity to all including tram system which was able to take us anywhere in city we wanted. Weather wasn't great, so being close to tram entrance station was great. Hotel shuttle also was a big plus. Try to walk by a staff member without them saying hello or have a great day. It won't happen.”

“Lovely hotel. Quite a few errors, however, during my short stay - charges on my bill that were not mine, bringing the wrong order in the restaurant, wake up call 15 minutes late and then not by phone but by someone banging on the door. (totally inappropriate).”

- $20 per night for parking. Expected for downtown though.
“The hotel was in a very appealing location. Close to hotspots, and easy to navigate from the hotel. The rooms were clean and attractive, and the view of the city as nice. - The staff for the most part was very friendly & helpful with most of are needs.
- The last day of our stay I noticed ants in our room & also the bath room, I let them know also.
“After traveling 7 hours with 2 kids, check in was great, staff was very nice. To say the least I was not very tire & needed a little TLC not attitude. We were happy to see he was still there the next day, he acted as if he remembered us from our last visit. People like him are far and too few now a days. Anyway the stay was fine, the parking was quick and easy in the garage. Location was fantastic we could get anywhere in and around the city very quickly, other than rush hour of course. The pool and workout area were very nice and well kept. The hotel itself was spotless, we did not order room service this time, but last time we stayed it was always speedy and hot when it arrived.”

- The location next to the Subway system was wonderful.
- The entrance/exit to the hotel parking garage was inconveniently located.
“With the hotel being located just a block away from the Subway system, getting to the other end of downtown was a snap. The room was fantastic as was the service. The only problem we had was trying to get into the parking garage during rush hour traffic.”

- Staff treated us as second rate. Also they did not clean our room 2nd night. Valet parking was too expensive for level of service provided.
“The hotel is nice in appearance, but staff was not as friendly as I would expect of a so called 3 star upscale hotel. They did not clean our room or restock towels etc. on our second day. The room's air conditioner smelled of mold and made us sick when we wakeup the next morning. Hotel management said 'nothing is wrong with it'. You are forced to use their lots at $18 per day for weekend and $20 per weekday for parking and the valet service was poor. Room service food was very good, although prices were high. Gratuity was automatically included, but server scoffed that we did not tip her on top of the $10 we were forced to tip her (not including the $3 service fee) to bring the food up the elevator to the room door. The room was small, and I felt like we were stuffed in the back corner of the hotel. They were very underbooked, but I felt like we got the worst room in the hotel.”

- My wife and I liked the cleanliness, security and location of the hotel.
- It was difficult for friends of ours to find a parking space on the street.
“From check-in to check-out the experience was excellent. The room was incredibly clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The view from the 19th floor was superior. The staff was driven to go "above and beyond" so as to make our entire stay a very positive one!”

- This hotel had the friendliest staff I've ever experienced.
- The parking was a bit pricy but the overall experience made it worth it.
“The Doubletree Hotel Pittsburgh City Center was the absolute best experience to my recollection I've experienced in quite some time. The staff was the greatest and went above and beyond to attend to it's patrons needs. The parking was a bit pricy, but the location, the cleanliness of the hotel, combined with the greatest staff I've experienced made it all worth it. My birthday was a couple of days earlier and this was the perfect stay to end off the week. It was truly the candle on the cake.”

- The fitness center.
- Charging for overnight parking. This was extremely exorbitant.
“I will not stay at this hotel again, due to the extremely high fee for parking in the garage. I would have parked on the street, but the neighborhood is unsafe at night. As I had my two children with me, I had no choice but to park in the garage. Parking should be provided as part of the hotel's regular services. Next time I will find a hotel that doesn't try to gouge me.”

- They had fresh cookies every afternoon.
- A/C in my room was broke and they couldn't fix it.
“The A/C in my room was broken. They sent a maintenance man to fix it, he could not fix it. They told me that they did not have another room available for me. So I was stuck in a room that I couldn't breath in because it smelled like an ashtray and was 85 degrees the entire weekend I thought it was handled poorly I asked to speak with a manager and was told there was not one available and he be in contact with me but that was the last I heard about it. This is the first bad experience I have had. I just felt like I was treated like a 2nd class citizen.”

“Convenient to everything and friendly staff. Guests should be reminded that they will be ask to leave if they disturb. The view of Mellon arena was great and the city looks great all light up at night.”

- Most comfortable bed and pillows I have ever slept on. Staff was very friendly and service was good. Not a long wait for shuttle.
- Paying for parking when you have already paid for hotel is terrible. $23.00 to park on top of room? Geez. Not staying there again.
“Hotel was nice. Nothing to write home about. Just ok. Paying for parking when the hotel does not have parking is enough for me not to stay there again. Everything was ok except for the parking issue.”

- Great staff, great location, bed's and toiletries were excellent. Hope I get the same hotel next time.

- Convenient, clean, friendly.
- Room was too hot; air was set at 60 deg and didnt work.
“This hotel over-all was a great stay for our family trip. It offered shuttles to most places in Downtown so we didnt have to drive and search for parking. It was easy to find. The staff was very pleasant and friendly. When complained about the heat/air problems at check-out, the hotel staff was eager to compensate and fix the problem.”

- Toilet spaced a bit cramped.

- Staff was helpful and friendly.
- TV was bad, Monday morning noisy due to hotel repairs also tub in need of refurbishing, mattress not comfortable needs updating.
“Hotel common areas very attractive, room decor ok, but bed/mattress was not very comfortable. Bathroom bathtub needs replaced. Shower rod was normal not the bowed type and bathroom lighting was too dim. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Hotel restaurant was rated 4 stars but menu was quite limited so we did not eat there. Would be nice to have a cafe' or some other food option inside the hotel beside the attached 7 11 shop.”

- Nice restaurant.
- Smell, person in room next to us.
“There was a horrible odor in the hallway that was absolutely nauseating everytime we walked by it to get to our room. (There was a sign on one of the doors that said trash. I assume that's where the odor was coming from.) The floor we were on was empty, and they put a woman right next door to us who coughed constantly and kept us awake all night long. I was actually tempted to knock on her door and tell her to go to the ER for a breathing treatment. I complained to the front desk and all they said was sorry about that. I would not stay at this hotel again. Also, the bed was very uncomfortable and parking costs a fortune. There is nowhere to park without it costing a ridiculous amount of money. ($40.00 for two days) Not a good review for a Hilton Hotel.”
