• Convenience to my meeting at Chatham University.
• The room felt famp for the entire week. The parking was $17.

“I liked my stay at this hotel the location for my interest was perfect. The room was very clean and had plenty of towels air condition worked well. My room was available earlier than expected. The staff at the front desk was friendly and helpful.”

• Pittsburgh is easy to travel with a cab; this hotel is centrally located.
• Air conditioning noise level was too high.

“For the business traveler this hotel offered more than excellent value. Centrally located on the campus of the University of Pittsburgh it allowed easy access to the city by cabs, which are inexpensive.”

• $17 fee for parking, no on street parking available.

“We knew parking in the area was limited and didn't want to pay $17 a night to park in their lot, so parked further away and had their local shuttle pick us up. The shuttle drivers were friendly and willing to please - without excessive tipping required. The lobby was crowded with people waiting for rooms that weren't ready at 4 PM, but we were able to check right in. The room was nice and cool coming in from a 90 degree day. The bed and linens were extremely comfortable. 4 pillows on the bed (as opposed to having to search or ask for extra) is always a bonus! The TV sleep timer was easy to figure out. We didn't use any of the amenities but the indoor pool area looked nice, with a portion under sky lights letting in the sunshine.”

“Very nice and convenient to the University we were touring. The shuttle brought us right to the University and picked us up when called so we did not have to drive through construction.”

• We were visiting the University of Pittsburgh and this hotel was in the perfect location, right at the campus.
• Hallways were very hot, almost stifling.

“Very pleasant and accommodating. Parking was costly but they let me keep my car in the ramp all day, even past the expiration time. This was very convenient since I was visiting the University of Pittsburgh, and the hotel was located right on campus.”

• To have a refrigerator in the room costs $15 a day.

• The hotel was very nice and clean. It was in a great location.
• I had to pay a parking fee(17$).

“It is in a great location close to U Pitt and ground transportation. I did not like the unexpected parking fee and the holding fee.”

“Two Night stay. Room was not made up first night even after I reported it. Nearly impossible to get a cab in the morning. Very indifferent hotel staff. Failed to even offer an apology for poor service on the room. Hotel manager very understanding and promised to address my issues with his staff.”

• The restaurant is the hotel's best quality.
• The check-in line went out the door& the MOD did nothing.

“The hotel is poorly managed. The soft goods have been upgraded, the bathroom toilet and counter is abnormally short. Check -in process took a long time since the lines went out the door. Poor staffing and phones were always ringing off the hook. The M.O.D. did nothing to assist the desk staff. The Middle elevator did not stop on our floor and another elevator was not working properly either.”

• The room and bathroom were larger than expected.
• They served me French fries on top of my salad. Room service food arrived cold.

“The front desk staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The accommodations were roomy and comfortable. The only drawback was that the hotel restaurant food was sub-par and expensive. In a section of Pittsburgh where the nearest restaurant is a 4-5 block walk, it would have been much better to have a high-quality restaurant at an affordable price. (I don't care whether Pittsburgh fries are a local specialty, French fries on top of a salad completely ruin it!).”

“Overall a nice experience. Very comfortable rooms, nice staff and location can't be beat. Parking and food were very high priced, however, and the fitness room is tiny - the one treadmill was broken. The kids loved the pool and the movies available.”

• Parking is $ 17.00 extra. Taxes on the hotel are high in Pittsburgh.

“It's a no surprise Holiday Inn. No surprise on the upside, no surprise on the downside. They had a marvelous home made soup at lunch which they delivered to the room outside of room service hours. I've stayed there many times and will stay there again.”

• You have to pay for parking w/ that price it should be included.

“In town for Steelers game; 24 miles to hotel from airport. Roads confusing but hotel staff helped with directions and maps. Notice shuttle close to destinations offered for others also; wish we had more time for site see. $17 a day extra for parking at hotel; they should offer pick up return to airport. Cab $43 one way/ overall a b.”

“The room may not have been worth it if I had spent the original price, which was double. The room was comfortable; I expected the bathroom to be nicer, the shower head was not mounted to the wall correctly. But overall the room was nice, good bed, nice view, big TV. It did the job.”

• Pillow selection; bottled water provided.
• We had to pin the drapes closed to block the light from the parking lot.

“Good for a short stay. Make sure you notice the pillow choices and select one for your comfort. The shower is nice. Double sinks would have been nice along with a magnifying mirror. Bring a nightlight from home. The bathroom lights are dreadfully bright!”

“I have always wanted to stay at the Holiday Inn Select Pittsburgh at University Center, but never thought that it was within my price range. I was familiar with the hotel but had never stayed there, and it met every one of my expectations, a spacious, comfortable room with a large bathroom - everything immaculately clean, and not smelling of cleaning products. The staff was friendly, but I used their services only very minimally. My daughter and I had a drink at the bar, which was also a nice feature of this hotel. Location was a plus; it is in the center of Oakland, very close to the University of Pittsburgh.”

• There was dark mold on the bathroom ceiling and the shower curtain did not seem to fit and was difficult to move across the rod.
