• Very convenient walking distance to eateries, coffee, hospitals.
• Room was less than perfect.

“Hotel very close to attractions, most in walking distance (5 blocks or less). Room was so so; broken tiles in bathroom near floor (from door jam on bottom of door) looked like it has been that way for awhile. Staff was OK, not overly friendly or courteous just there doing there job seemed like.”

• Great location. My daughter goes to University of Pittsburgh. I was visiting her.
• Don't like the parking. Have to pay $18 a day.

“I felt it was very comfortable and convenient for me. I just don't like paying for parking. However, that is not uncommon for three star or higher hotels located in cities.”

“I would not recommend anyone to stay at that particular Holiday Inn. I was never a fan of that brand of hotels to begin with, and remain convinced that they are nothing but a common stay hotel. Location was convenient, close to the hospital and downtown area. However, the front desk staff make you feel unwelcome. They weren't willing to offer me a double room even though I had requested it in advance and was confirmed that it would be provided. There was a clear lack of proactive and willingness to please.”

• Not a single thing.
• The poor quality of their linens, beds and towels.

“Although the hotel location was a plus, the service I experienced was among the worst that I have ever had. I do travel often and often stay at Holiday Inn locations, but their staff at the Pittsburgh Location was rude, inattentive and simply unprofessional. The hotel manager acted in a very unwelcome manner to the point that I was ready to leave and go to the next available hotel near by. She was so rude and luckily I was only staying there for one night.”

• The hotel was very conveniently located in Oakland near Shady Side. I was able to walk to nearby restaurants. The room was spacious & well appointed.
• The gym was a bit small and sparse.

• Very clean, proximity to the U of Pittsburgh.
• Paying $18.00 for parking.

“Great location for a visit to see the U of Pittsburgh. The hotel is situated just behind the Alumni Building which is where the admissions office is located. We ate breakfast at the hotel. Very nice restaurant - enjoyed the food and had prompt service.”

• Great service staff, really impressive.
• Shoddy in places, things were broken, unnecessarily cheap in some services.

“This is a fine hotel for business travelers as there is a cabled broadband connection, though slow, and probably good for families, particularly of students enrolled at the nearby universities. It's clean, the staff is very professional and helpful, and the service level is above par.”

• Front desk service was excellent.

“The hotel was great overall we had to switch rooms because the first one smelled heavily of smoke (and was a non-smoking room), but they quickly got us a new room which was perfect. The staff was very friendly and helpful.”

• I liked the room.
• Parking.

“Parking was $17/day, we were not aware of this. The parking garage ticket to get in and out didn't work most of the time. When we were trying to leave to catch our flight we could not get out and the parking attendant was not there. The hotel clerk could not help us. We finally drove over some cones and used the entrance lane to get out. Came close to missing our flight. Very frustrating considering we had to pay $17/day to use the garage, the hotel clerk didn't seem to care at all.”

• Bathroom leaked water all over the floor.

“When I got out of the shower, somewhere the water leaked all over the floor, got my bag all wet, and most of my clothes were in the bag. Wasn't very happy about that. Restaurant food was horrible.”

• Parking should not be charged to hotel room when there is a quest.

“A excellent hotel to be near the Golden Triangle for activities on the North or South shores. Also, located within walking distances of eateries near University Pitt. The staff made excellent recommendations for food & travel tips. This experience exceeded my expectations. Highly recommended.”

• Executive breakfast, non smoking hotel.
• The Elevator. Parking is $17.

“This hotel is located right by the University at the medical center. Though we didn't hear any ambulances we had to slow down for patients and taxi cabs with people entering and exiting the medical facility as the entrance to the hotel is kind of shared. The parking was $17 but we were able to find off street parking right outside the hotel. When we went there they were out of all rooms with 2 beds, so after some haggling they gave us free rollaway bed to executive floor with executive breakfast room, which was pretty cool. Overall, my only issue was 2 bed. I'd rate my experience as 3.5/5.”

• I received a nasty note from housekeeping after my first day because I did not want housekeeping my first day.

“Other than my nasty note from housekeeping, the elevator did not work and check-in took a little long. Otherwise, it was adequate and clean but did not seem like a 3 star hotel.”

• I really liked the rooms. They were large and roomy. I loved the king sized bed too.
• I did not like the breakfast buffet. I think that you can have better potatoes and sausages.

“This is a very nice hotel. I was very shocked to have to pay a separate charge for parking and it not be in the charge of the room. They charge $17.00 per night which I feel is a bit much.”

• Parking is not included in the price and really added a lot to the bill.

“Everything about this hotel met our expectations, with the exception of the parking. Parking was an added expense and cost us $17 a day. The hotel is clean and the landscaping is very nice.”

• The room felt famp for the entire week. The parking was $17.

• Pittsburgh is easy to travel with a cab; this hotel is centrally located.
• Air conditioning noise level was too high.

“For the business traveler this hotel offered more than excellent value. Centrally located on the campus of the University of Pittsburgh it allowed easy access to the city by cabs, which are inexpensive.”
