• I loved the locaton and friendly staff; The rooms were comfortable.
• There was no safety bar in the bathroom shower. My mom is handicapped.

• The room was very nice and comfortable.
• The entry door doesn't automatically open after a certain hour in the evening.

“We had a short stay but the room was very nice, and the bed was much more comfortable than I am use to in a hotel. The continental breakfast was much better than the standard and the staff was very friendly.”

• This hotel feels like a resort with spacious suite rooms.
• It is about 15 minutes from The Waterfront and other Pittsburgh attractions.

• Great hot breakfast with REAL oatmeal. Very nice staff.
• Our fridge did not work, but it was fixed immediately!

“My husband and I stayed at the Springhill Suites for 5 nights in December, 2008. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful and the hotel lobby is inviting. The hot breakfast was just what we needed each morning. We thought the location was just fine because we were visiting our son, daughter-in-law, and grandkids that live nearby. If you are planning to visit Pittsburgh, I think it's a little out of the way. Although our room was not large, it was very comfortable and clean. We used the exercise room and were impressed with the machines. Each has its own TV screen. There is also an indoor pool but we did not use it. We will definitely return to this hotel.”

• Lovely rooms, clean, well equipped. Fantastic breakfast included. Just perfect!

“This hotel was awesome! It is attractive, has clean, lovely rooms, and they are well equipped. The beds were comfortable. It was a perfect experience for us. We can't say anything negative. The free breakfast was beyond anything we expected. The staff was so nice. All hotels should be this wonderful! It had a great workout room and a nice, inside pool!”

• I liked that a hot breakfast was included in the price, no charge for parking & shopping close by.
• The horrible pool - stank like chlorine and paint peeling at bottom of pool.

“It has been renovated, but the rooms are still small and dark (no overhead lights). We asked to move rooms to get away from the elevators. Once to lay out the sofa bed there is absolutely no room to move around.”

• There were rooms located between the elevators - I'd hate to stay in those rooms!

• Loved indoor heated pool/whirlpool.
• No complaint!

“This hotel was the best by far, Springhill Suites by Marriott West Mifflin that have used for some time! Suites were large with an additional pull-out sofa bed if needed, small refrigerator, microwave, lovely large bathroom area and very clean and hotel was completely non-smoking! The indoor heated pool/whirlpool was wonderful!”

“The location is great, the hotel is clean, but there were some issues. We didn't arrive until 3 hours after designated check-in time of 3pm, but the room still wasn't read yet. When we did get a room it was a handicapped room (just thought that was strange), and they told us it was on the 3rd floor, when it was actually on the 4th floor. The check-in person swiped my credit card for the wrong screen and temporarily double-charged my credit card for the room. All minor stuff, really, but after a day of travel it was fairly annoying.”

“The staff was friendly. The breakfast buffet was an appreciated addition with enough options for any taste. The room was large enough for our family of 5 to sleep comfortably. It had a small living area and two separate TVs. The decor was lovely and the beds were comfortable. Fantastic place to stay for Kenny wood.”

• Checked in late 10:00pm after fighting highway construction, room was not ready.

“Night staff was most accommodating. Front desk helped to ready our room. Seemed to not be so concerned that we could not get our car started and needed a jump. We found some one on our own to help us. Hotel seemed clean in every area. Room was one of the nicest we had seen. Unique layout. Pool, hot tub and exercise room was great. Breakfast was wonderful.”

• Room by the elevator disturbed our sleep, internet was extremely slow.

“Hotel was clean, bed comfortable, slightly crowded with furniture, breakfast had an assortment of items and breakfast person was attentive. A major road behind hotel can disturb sleep plus room next to elevator is not advisable, so request a room on the front side of the hotel and away from the elevators. The hotel is totally smoke free which is a plus but there was a cigarette burn on the sink top. We did not use the pool but it appeared clean. All in all it met my expectations for a 2.5 hotel.”

• The hotel was very clean and the rooms were very nice and clean also. The continental breakfast was perfect for the younger kids and for adults.
• The only thing that I had a problem with was the chlorine content in the pool area. Both myself and my husbands eyes burned like never before.

• Trash bin and dirty clothes bin in hallway each day. Had to walk around 3'x4' bin.

“Other than the issue of having to walk around this trash bin in the hallway, we loved every minute of our stay. Food was great and wait staff in lobby were fast and efficient in keeping eating area clean and stocked.”

“Very clean hotel. The hotel never seemed too crowded except at breakfast. The breakfast setup was not done to service, a large number of people but every morning there were a lot of people waiting in line. The pool was nice. Did not get to the workout facilities. There is a great little shop in the hotel and the prices are reasonable. Close to everything we were there for.”

• Only one shuttle bus. Long wait to use it.

“We enjoyed the experience because our son and his family were also at the hotel at the same time. It was kid friendly without being overly so. Staff tried hard to please. Only drawback was not being able to use the shuttle when you needed it. They only have one, at the present time.”

• My room was disgusting. Dirty bandages on the floor and the bathroom was dirty.

“I liked the idea of this hotel. Big spacious rooms, micro fridge and separate lounging area. I did not like the fact that my room did not look like it had been cleaned since the last guest. The bathroom was dirty. The floor, tub, mirror and toilet were not clean. There was dirty bandages on the floor and stains on the walls.”

• Spa was not working, surrounded by traffic, couldn't walk to anywhere.

“The room was very nice. We enjoyed the pool. Being that we don't have kids, I always think after 8 should be adults only time in the pool. Even though when we went in around 1:00 in the afternoon we had it to ourselves. It was disappointing that the spa was unavailable. The breakfast was fantastic. It was much better than a lot of the usual continental breakfasts. The whole hotel and price-line experience was definitely a 10 and I would recommend it to anyone as long as you don't have a specific location in mind where you need to be. we wanted a hotel about 5 - 10 miles away but ended up with this one. We wanted to stay where we could walk to places, this hotel was surrounded by busy streets and you had to drive everywhere.”

• The cleanliness and style and colors of the fixtures and furniture. The bed was very comfortable.
• The directions on the hotel were awful.

“I enjoyed my brief stay here. It was convenient to downtown Pittsburgh. The furnishings were stylish and contemporary. The hotel common areas and the room seemed spotless. My one complaint, the directions to the hotel on the website were inadequate. The front desk person (night clerk) could not find a map of the local area. The day clerk was able to provide the necessary map. It was a good visit. Thank you.”

• Newly remodeled/updated facility; room had nice large bathroom.
• Rooms are small and crowded; TV in room was old and in awkward location; lots of kids in the pool and exercise room so day and night.

“Nice hotel with recent updates, surrounded by restaurants and fast food. Beware of heavy, slow traffic patterns; plan ahead if you have a schedule to keep! Overnight rooms are crowded with furniture but OK for one or two people.”

• Not easy to get to from any freeway, but that's just Pittsburgh in general.

“Hotel is GREAT. Staff was so helpful. My job has to be done at night so I am getting off of work at 8am and sleep till about 2pm, the receptionist let me check in early and also let me check out late so I could get some sleep. That is great customer service. More hotels need to learn from this one and accommodate the 3rd shift worker.”

“The directions to the hotel were a little difficult: however, it was because of the layout of Pittsburgh. The breakfast was wonderful. The staff for the most part was friendly. The rooms were huge! This is a great hotel for meeting friends and going shopping (as long as you can read a map).”

• Amazing hotel room, outstanding staff.
• Breakfast seemed a little cheap for the hotels grandeur.

“Overall, the hotel was great. It was far better than any of the other alternatives in the area. The rooms were very spacious and the beds were extremely comfortable. I never sleep in, but on these beds I had to be woken up to get out of bed. Normally Im the first one up. The staff was great, very helpful and courteous, always giving you a greeting.”

“The hotel is smoke free, which I love. It has wonderful staff. Internet access was out during my entire stay. A huge inconvenience. The nearest place for internet access was a Kinkos a few blocks away. But their hours of operation were not always convenient.”
