• Comfort of bed & cleanliness of entire site.
• Lots of mall traffic at entrance of site.

“My wife and I have been staying in Roanoke for 30 years at least 3 times a year & we are very excited about the Hyatt Place. Very friendly & professional staff. Comfortable and clean room. The bed was very comfortable. Nice, fresh breakfast & Starbucks coffee!”

• Everyone was very friendly and the room was more than I ever expected. very nice hotel. I would recommend it to anyone going to the Roanoke, VA area.
• I thought it was a little hard to find, but it was also my first trip to Roanoke and I didn't know the area at all.

“The hotel was awesome. It had a 42 inch flat screen LG TV. It had a wrap around couch in the room and very nice comfortable beds. My girlfriend went with me and was overly impressed as well. I also had a friend come down to stay with us and he really enjoyed his stay. Overall I would recommend this hotel to anyone going to Roanoke, VA. It was close to several restaurants and the Mall was right down the road. Loved it!”

• I really enjoyed the large spacious rooms.
• The staff was rather informal.

“The Hyatt Place Roanoke is a wonderful, newly renovated facility. The rooms have comfortable bedding and the location is convenient to the airport, Valley View area, and Downtown. The staff, like many hotels in Roanoke was rather informal.”

• Cutting edge, room design, check in/out, good breakfast.
• We didn't stay long enough!

“This is one of the new Hyatt Place inns, which is an upscale answer to the people who want nice accommodations (and technology) without giving up ease and accessibility. They provide quick touch screen check in and out (it hands you the key coming in and the receipt on the way out!), decent breakfast, and all-around pleasantness. Of special note, Hyatt has made a breakaway from traditional room design. While the actual amount of space, may be the same as a ordinary room, they have basically designed a "mini-suite", virtually four separate areas! A very comfortable bed with night stands, a complete bathroom area, a couch and sitting area, and even a small bar setup with a fridge and bar sink! A simple "why hasn't someone thought of this?" Large panel HDTV which swivels to be seen in the sitting area or the bed area. (And has easy and accessible hook-ups for computers to game systems!) Hyatt has raised the bar for this hotel category.”

• Location cleanliness staff.
• Bed was poor, linens even less.

“The hotel would have been a three star for amenities and quality of service but the double bedded room had below quality bed comfort with linen that was too small and often left the mattress. Next time should ask for king bed which may have been more comfortable.”

• Very attractive design and the facility were clean as well.
• The beds were not comfortable at all - my wife and I both slept terribly.

“This particular hotel has a pretty good location, being right outside of a mall in Roanoke. The outside of the building is also very pleasing to the traveler. To be honest, the only problem I had with my stay was how incredibly uncomfortable the beds were. The springs were very stiff and there was no give in the mattress whatsoever. So I suppose if you like a hard mattress, this hotel will be great. If not, I might venture to look elsewhere.”

• We liked the hotel very much but got put into a smoking room which wasn't a very good experience.
• The room turned out to be a smoking room so the odor was very significant in the bed.

“The hotel was very nice and comfortable but recommend you make sure the room is non smoking. The bed had a smoking odor to it. Other than that is was very nice and would highly recommend it.”

• I liked the fact it zetas a suite the room was a very nice is.
• My room had a very cheap king size mattress and I got very little sleep that is not worth saving money.

• It was a very spacious suite.
• I was not expecting to be given a double bed.

“The hotel is just about everything you'd expect, however one word of warning, do not stay there near any major holiday shopping season! I was there during Christmas and with the layout of the area, you may be stuck in traffic for up to an hour just trying to get out of there and onto a freeway.”

“Very clean. Not the most convenient from interstate, but very nice. Rooms were spacious and clean. Friendly staff except for the breakfast lady. Difficult to find the entrance though from the interstate. Good experience.”

• Clean rooms, friendly staff in both housekeeping and front desk.
• "Fitness center" lacks basic equipment - i.e. Free weights, bike and treadmill.

“I spoke with both the front desk and 5th floor housekeeping staff, all of whom were helpful and generally delightful. The rooms near the elevators (as mine was) are a bit oddly arranged, with the television crammed in the walkway between the suite and bedroom. Otherwise, everything is excellent, save the aforementioned fitness center that is lacking in basic equipment. A great stay at a great price!”

“I requested a nonsmoking room which was not provided. Bed linens, beds, rug, curtains and couch were shabby. Hotel needs redo - or at least my floor (6th) does. Room was quiet and spacious. Unable to use bathroom light without very loud fan at same time. Air quality poor. I will avoid staying with them again if possible.”

• House keeping staff were friendly.
• Check in staff were NOT friendly. Never looked up. Three on desk only one was actually assisting guests.

• The mattress in the room was uncomfortable (some springs poking through).

“This hotel is in a great location. Close to shopping and plenty of restaurants. The room and lobby were clean and the continental breakfast was good. The only drawback was the mattress in the room was old and uncomfortable.”

• Very family friendly wonderful pool and great free breakfast buffet.
• The sofa bed was uncomfortable for an adult and refrigerator was not cold enough.

“This is a great hotel to stay at with young children. The pool was clean and kept at a nice temperature, as well as reasonable hours for early risers and late travelers. The lobby is nice and the staff very helpful. Breakfast buffet is free and has plenty of variety. Beds are comfortable and the rooms are spacious. Overall a great experience for my family. We have been at this hotel at the past and will return again. It is our favorite in the Roanoke area.”

• Loved the room.
• Room not very well cleaned and not restocked either day I was there.

“Great location, great amenities. Housekeeping and condition of the exercise room equipment left a little to be desired. Employees were friendly once you got their attention, which was sometimes difficult, not bad overall.”

• Hot waffles at breakfast, the mini frig and close to the mall.
• To use high speed connection a $10 charge and data port was a .50 cents charge.

“It was clean, had a good selection for breakfast. The room was nice with dishes and a frig and microwave. It didn't have a Jacuzzi and a charge to use a data port or higher for high speed connection. They had a policy for linen and sheets for using more than one day but didn't always follow it. The same for soap and shampoo.”
