• The prices are fair and everything fit our needs perfectly.
• None.

“We have stayed here multiple times with great success. The location is very accessible to downtown, with a great restaurant (California Dreaming) within walking distance. The suites are very accommodating and spacious for both the one an two bedroom options. The two bedroom offers great privacy for 4 persons, with separate bathrooms and TV's. The evening social hour and AM breakfast are very suitable, with good selections. The staff help was excellent in all areas, including small directional map handouts for various scenic and tour locations. We will return!”

• Clean, friendly, roomy and good free breakfast.
• Not right down town.

“My family recently took our summer vacation to the beach and the house was terrible. We were able to get our money back, but everything was full and on top of it, we had our dog with us! We were we pleased at the hotels cleanliness and wonderful staff! They really saved our vacation! I would definitely stay there again, plus it is only about two miles from downtown Charleston. Wonderful! Free breakfast buffet and regular 6:00 meals and happy hour. Nice to see in this day and age.”

• Friendly staff, clean room, eager to help and answere any questions.
• The deodorizer wasn't pleasant, had to buy lysol to cover smell.

“Hotel very clean, enjoyed no smoking. The room was clean, room service was good. Morning breakfast was very convenient, also internet access was an added plus. Odor in room was only complaint.”

• Nice sized rooms/suites.
• Air conditioning was not working well.

“One night stay in Charleston. Hotel was clean and well decorated. Breakfast was good. Only complaint was that the staff seemed unprepared to deal with a large group of children with families for a local athletic event. The kids were loud (running through the halls) and left food and drinks on the elevator floor. I asked for a different room when I was placed next to a packed pool. The air conditioning in my new room was not working properly.”

• It took them a while to clean the rooms each day.

“We enjoyed our stay. It was a great place for the kids. The breakfast was always good. The only problem was they need more room in the dining area. The staff was friendly and helpful.”

• Maids entering room without knocking.

“For the price, this has to be the best deal in Charleston, which is a pricey locale during tourist times. Only complaint and you can't blame the residence Inn for this is that a maid entered the room without knocking first.”

• Clean, great service and convenient to downtown and other sites
• Difficult to find the hotel.

“Very nice property, good service and very clean. Less than 10 minutes to historic downtown district and conveniently located to other tourist sites. Great value compared to much higher prices downtown hotels.”

• The proximity to downtown was great.
• Rooms were not as clean as I would like. Not enough extra linens.

“The rooms were roomy, but it wasn't that clean. The bed was uncomfortable and the noise level inside the room was rather high.”

• Nothing, it was great.

“This hotel exceeded my expectations! The staff was nice, the hotel was clean and the room was well equipped with everything we needed. The breakfast was outstanding. I would definitely stay here again. I could not find another hotel as great as this one.”

• Large room that included a full size fridge and microwave.
• The hotel allows pets and in the room next door someone had locked their dog in the room and it howled until 3 in the morning.

“The hotel was nice, but by permitting pets and doing nothing about the dog that howled in the next room I would not recommend the hotel. Travelers should not lock their dogs in an unfamiliar room and leave for hours into the early AM, but hotels should not permit one room to destroy all adjacent rooms night sleep and possibly their entire vacation. They do have a responsibility to all guest.”

• Great room and location. Best complementary breakfast.
• Balcony view was ugly.

“We wanted a nice place to stay while we visited Charleston. We were very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the chain and even happier at the quality of the hotel. It really sells the chain. Also, the breakfast was far better than at other similar hotels.”

• I liked the secure entries, large rooms, balconies, and wonderful full breakfast buffet was the best!!
• Not enough parking, and none close to our room. Our room the first night had broken A/C

“Everything seemed to meet or exceed our expectations. The hotel was very nice for the price and they gladly helped us extend our stay. I liked the express checkout, too. It's in a good location to go to the beach or downtown. I would choose this hotel again and again.”

• Its a $12-15 cab ride to downtown Charleston.

“The large room was great. It had a nice kitchen, fridge, & good sofa bed. Great pool area. The free breakfast in the morning was excellent. Its a short drive to Folly Beach. It was a short cab ride to downtown Charleston, but was a lot cheaper than the hotels in downtown.”

• Great value -- including full breakfast
• Even though it was rated two and a half stars, I felt that it was a very typical Marriot.

“Typical Marriot-style (no closet doors, small rooms) but clean and convenient. Full breakfast helped.Little confusing: I "bid" on a hotel and was given this hotel based upon geographic request. It came up as the Renaissance Hotel by Marriot, so we were confused when we pulled up and it was a Residence. Assumed we were in the wrong place, and it was 1AM!”

• The staff at the front desk was very friendly and helpful with directions and parking problems.
• LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION, very difficult to get in and out of.

• The location is very convenient to historic Charleston and the islands. We really enjoyed the free breakfast. The staff was very helpful.
• The directions on the hotel website need to be updated.

“The Residence Inn is conveniently located to historic Charleston, restaurants, and museums. The room was comfortable and clean. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast is a good value. The view isn't great because of the construction sites around the hotel locale, but we weren't affected because we did not spend our days in our room. It was serenely quiet at night. We will definitely return and I highly recommend this hotel.”

“I really enjoyed the stay at the Residence Inn. We had a great weekend and I liked that we could be in downtown Charleston in 5 minutes. You can actually see downtown from the hotel. They had a wonderful breakfast with lots to choose from.”

“We enjoyed our stay at the Residence Inn in Charleston. The rooms were exactly what we needed for this particular trip. My wife and I were in a class all day long for 3 straight days. This hotel had a kitchen set up so that our daughters could stay in and fix their own food for lunch while we were gone. Since they are not quite old enough to drive this was very convenient as we did not have time to be running back and forth between the two places.”
