• The food was excellent in the restaurant and lounge.
• When checking in for day 2, I was treated very poorly.

“Poor parking options, no available bellmen, room was not completely clean and the lady at the front desk upon my second check in (made me check in twice during my 2 day stay) was extremely rude and demanding. She acted as if I was a pain and not a guest.”

• Friendly, helpful staff, restaurant and bar on site.
• Parking lot expensive, hard to navigate.

“This hotel met my overall expectations and exceeded it with the friendly front desk staff and bar/restaurant personnel. The free in room high speed internet, bottled water and newspaper at door were nice touches. The bed was comfortable and the food/drink available although expensive was appreciated.”

• The hotel was directly across the street from Mellon Arena.
• There was construction around the hotel and it was best to valet car.

“The hotel room was average at best with no refrigerator or microwave. The hotel does offer several sports channels (ESPN, ESPN 2, ESPN classic, and golf channel). The parking accommodations were to my expectation since there was no re-entry for parking in the garage at $16/night so it was best to valet your car at $24/night. The hotel offers rides to the Ballpark, Football Stadium, the strip, airport and many other areas at no extra cost to guests.”

• I liked the access to Downtown areas of interest.
• The waitress at the hotel bar was very unfriendly!

• Excellent accommodations. Complimentary fresh made cookies, apples, and beverages in lobby were wonderful.
• Nothing.

“Would definitely stay here again. My daughter is a student at Univ. of Pitt. Due to time constraints I was not able to fully enjoy all that the hotel had to offer.”

• The beds were comfortable but a little soft for my back.

“This was a very clean and friendly hotel and I would definitely and already have recommended it to friends and family. The staff was tremendously helpful and the pool and fitness center was a plus.”

• Nice, clean facility - as nice as any other Downtown Pittsburgh hotel.
• A bit distant from the rest of Downtown (except Mellon Arena).

“This is a very nice business oriented hotel in the arena district, right across from Mellon Arena and perfect if you're going to an arena function or in town to watch the Pens. Not the hotel's fault, but more a function of poor Downtown planning, it is not in the center of the rest of the Downtown action, but still an easy walk to everything else in the Downtown area. This 3* hotel is as nice as the 4* rated Downtown hotels which I have also stayed at.”

• A lot of traffic around the area.

“The rooms are great, bathrooms somewhat on the small side, but very clean. There is no outside noise. Traffic in the area makes it difficult to get into the hotel itself. The restaurant onsite is great.”

“A nice hotel in a reasonably convenient area with expensive in-house dining, and expensive parking. Near a lot of attractions, etc., and good less expensive food, etc., can be found with a few minutes of looking. Bed was reasonably comfortable, bathroom was ok.”

• The water in the shower wasn't hot enough for my taste.

“The staff was helpful and pleasant and the room was comfortable (especially the bed). Everything was very clean. I ate in the hotel restaurant, something I rarely do and the food was quite good.”

• The staff were very friendly and accommodating. I have food allergies and they did a great job of assisting me.
• There was construction going on at or near the hotel and it was a bit noisy.

• Parking was $23. Too expensive!

“The hotel was nice, centrally located, and clean. But the additional charges to stay there were quite high. Parking is $23 alone. And, I as charged for local calling which was not explained until checking out.”

• Old style TV, space could be conserved with a flat screen.

• No bathrobes, only made bed, did not clean up all room.

“Too much money for the quality. The pool had so much chlorine it made me itch, there were supposed to be bathrobes and were none, a lot of construction going on outside on sidewalks, valet were somewhat unfriendly. Good things: quiet, good service in restaurant.”

• I liked the free shuttle. I also liked the rate that I paid.
• Paying to park.

“I am from Phoenix and, Easter weekend, I was visiting my sister who lives on the outskirts of Pittsburgh. We had tickets for a play at the Heinz theater for Friday night and then also tickets for a show at the Benedum Theater for Saturday afternoon. An overnight stay downtown was just the way to go. We thought the location was fine (we did use the free shuttle both to and from the play Friday night) and found the hotel with out any problems. The hotel staff was nice. No glitches during the stay. Also, on the night we were there and where our room was, it was very quiet. Loved the rate.”

• No wireless internet!

“Check in was easy, parking was convenient; the room was perfect in every way except no Wi-Fi. They still had high speed internet, but I really prefer wireless. The bed had lots of soft pillows, the mattress was extremely comfortable and the comforter was down. I loved staying at this hotel.”

“Room exceptionally clean and quiet. Staff friendly and helpful. However, if I was a business traveler the missed wakeup call could have been disastrous. Staff made up for it by picking up my bar bill.”

• Hotel had a nice dining facility on site and was very convenient to downtown. It also had a shuttle to popular sites around town.
• The hotel would not take room requests until arrival. They offered room service until 2am (wow!), but failed to complete our order correctly.
