• The health club was very nice and they offered cold water.
• The lobby is a bit small.

“The rooms were comfortable, the health club had good equipment and a nice pool and the staff was friendly and efficient. The cookies at check in were a plus.”

• The value for the stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. Great view of the city. Feah baked cookies was a nice touch. Apples in the morning. Newspaper.
• The parking cost was not included. The TV reception could have been better with more channels.

“Overall 9 out of 10. We felt welcomed and not pressured to tip everyone. Especially the valet but we did anyway. The location was great but the cost of parking really added up which I was not expecting. I have already recommended this hotel to my friends and family. It was a great experience.”

• Beds were small and so was the bathroom.

“My family and I stayed at the Marriott Pittsburgh for a weekend getaway. The staff could not be friendlier and their was a Starbucks attached so my wife was happy. The only complaint was the size of the room and the view of the roof outside my window. I would stay there again though just based on how the staff treated us.”

• The linens and amenities were luxurious.
• A very loud room in a high traffic area when the hotel was no where near full.

“Hotel is lovely and the rooms are beyond comfortable. The parking is adequate, although having to pay for parking is a hassle. Room service was late and we were still charged even though they offer on time or it is free.”

• The hotel was beautiful on the outside and lobby area.
• Our room was dirty and very dusty, the only thing that appeared clean was the bed.

“I loved the city of Pittsburgh, so to say anything negative about anything there is hard, but this is a upscale hotel, and I was really disappointed at how dirty the room was and the noise level in the room. There was a dust/dirt ring around the entertainment stand/ dresser. The desk was dirty, there were dirty coffee cups that were stuck to the tray it was on, we were disappointed there was no refrigerator. Honestly I really expected more, but the lobby and other parts of the hotel besides the room were lovely.”

• Hotel staff went out of their way to be helpful.
• A bit pricey on parking.

“Overall a very pleasant location to stay, free shuttle to major attractions, only 2 blocks away from local "T" line. Very clean, very good maid service, desk service. Only complaint was the parking fees. Would stay again before I tried others in the area.”

• The lobby area felt cramped and claustrophobic.

“This is a beautiful hotel in downtown Pittsburgh. The rooms are more than comfortable, and whether you are in Pittsburgh to relax or to work, the accommodations aid you in either capacity. As most everything in downtown Pittsburgh is accessible by foot or public transit, the hotel isn't situated in the best place to get to a helpful sidewalk or Subway station. That having been said, it is still not far to any place that one might need to go downtown. Overall, I highly enjoyed my stay, and would certainly recommend this hotel.”

• Clean, comfortable, good location, good service. Excellent valet parking operation.
• Dirty room service tray left in hall for almost 24 hours.

“Clean, efficient, competent business hotel. Good workout facilities if a bit small for a hotel of this size. Very close to Downtown Pittsburgh but somewhat isolated by roads and architecture, thus not really pedestrian-friendly. Friendly, competent staff and good valet parking operation.”

“The Marriott Pittsburgh City Center Hotel is somewhat disappointing. I was accosted by a homeless man in the lobby asking for money. I did not feel secure. The parking fee is simply outrageous. The hotel itself is not in an exactly prime location. While the staff was generally quite helpful, I never felt overly welcome. Overall a mediocre experience.”

“If I would've known how hard it was to get around town and how outrageously the parking was priced I never would have chosen the area. The hotel was more like the one in the commercial where every time you tried to talk there was construction noise interfering. Never again, can't there be some kind of way put in place to avoid such hotels?”

“Nice hotel with very helpful, friendly staff! The valet parking was expensive, but the valets were quick and friendly. I have stayed at this hotel two times and the beds are very comfortable. The rooms are pretty soundproof too.”

“The hotel was fine, but the parking situation would discourage me from staying there again. Comparable Downtown hotels charge $5 per day with in and out privileges. This one charged $24 for the same privilege. Otherwise, the hotel was nicely maintained and comfortable.”

“We stayed three nights at this hotel. Great location, convenient to Duquesne and downtown. The staff was very helpful at check-in, helped us print boarding passes for our flights, and helped arrange transportation to the airport. Bar was pleasant with attentive staff.”

• No free breakfast in the morning.

• Very plush beds and pillows! Very clean facility.
• The uptown location.

“The hotel staff was courteous and helpful. Everything was impeccably clean. The beds and pillows were wonderfully comfortable. The valet parking was handled with ease for our multiple in-and-outs. The grounds were beautifully manicured lawns and flowers. The location uptown was a drawback because it is not a good neighborhood to take a long walk through (question safety), but driving in and out was no problem.”

“If you are going to the Mellon arena this is a perfect place to stay. If you aren't, this hotel lacks convenience to outside shopping at eating. The staff is courteous and rooms are well kept. The fitness center is cutting edge with HDTV's attached to every piece of equipment. The pool is tiny, but is ok for a swim. If you want to do laps, this isn't for you.”

“This is a great hotel. My wife and I traveled with a 15 month old with no problems. Plenty quiet, very helpful staff. Shuttle took us to and from PNC Park both nights. Highly recommend.”

• The location is excellent.
• The parking is expensive but it is the same for every hotel in Downtown Pittsburgh.

“The hotel was an excellent. If you are a person who works out, the fitness center is typical to those found in many hotels - only basic cardio and minimal weights. I was impressed that the employees actually ran to get your car with a great sense of urgency. That was refreshing.”

• The handicapped room needs new mattresses. Plywood under mattress.

“For a short getaway the hotel is great. You can walk into the city or get shuttled to an event. The lounge/bar/restaurant is great for dining in the hotel. Very relaxing atmosphere. The hotel is located in a manner that it is easy to find and easy to leave the city.”

“This was a great opportunity to stay in Pittsburgh within a 10-15 minute walk of many of the major sites. We enjoyed the spacious room, though the bed was oddly quite low. Smallish bathroom, but all facilities very clean and well run. Really enjoyed the stay.”

“The room was old and hadn't been rehabbed in dozens of years. The bathroom was so dirty (hairs everywhere) that I did not take a shower in the morning. I felt unclean in the bed. When I told the staff at check-out my experiences, they offered me points and a free breakfast.”

• Close to the venue we were going to that evening.
• Feather bed, pillows bad with allergies and room service.

“Overall it was a nice hotel. The check in staff was wonderful, the bartenders and the front desk manager very nice. Room service waiter very nice but food took over an hour and were cold. If you have allergies to feathers this is not for you. The beds were very comfortable but they had feather pillows and feather comforters. But overall very nice evening out.”
