  • Very convenient location & helpful staff.
  • Parking wasn't available because of a concert.

“Overall our experience was good. We did however have to park 2 blocks away and walk to the hotel because of a concert at the Mellon arena. Hotel occupants should have first choice of parking, not non-guests of the hotel.”

  • Location was very good; we were there for the Bon Jovi concert, close to arena.
  • My sleep was interrupted all night long by noise from the hall and other rooms.

“I was there with my partner and we were hoping to get away from it all. The noise level was so loud all night long which was very disappointing so much so that relaxing was an issue. The bed was comfortable, the linens were nice. Bathroom was small.”

  • It was very nice and safe. Easy to and from parking garage.
  • Check in was not friendly or helpful for a first time visitor.

“Overall we liked our stay. The room was very nice. Cleaning staff was very helpful more so then the front desk. I loved the closeness to the Mellon arena. We would probable stay somewhere else next time only because of the cost.”

  • Nice big room.
  • Very stark and cold decor throughout. No ambience.

“It was fine for a two night stay in Pittsburgh. We didn't need a fancy hotel with lots of amenities. Staff was great and the shuttle service was wonderful.”

  • Good view from tie 25th floor.
  • Parking was $20 a night.

“The hotel was very nice, and the staff was friendly. I loved the lights and air that went off when you left the room, very green! The room service was fast, but they made a mistake on one of our salads and made a point to come up and request the incorrect salad back. That felt a little cheap and odd, were they going to serve it to someone else?”

  • Good location friendly staff.
  • Room was ok, just ok. Not worth the price.

“The Westin Pittsburgh is in a great location in the Cultural District. Close to theaters and some great restaurants and galleries. However $20 to park your car is ridiculous. And the rooms are overpriced for what they are. (a small room that needs to be renovated. But I must say that the staff was super friendly and helpful.”

  • Poorly cleaned room. Poor maintenance.

“My stay was tainted by two things: - My flight was canceled so I had to go a day later still had to pay for the room. Room was poorly cleaned/maintained for the star level. I expected that when I gave specific instructions to the front desk to address, the issues would be resolved but they weren't. Things like old cigarettes and someone's prescription medication waiting for me in my non-smoking room when I arrived and paint chips that were falling on me in the shower. There were probably positive things about the stay, but I couldn't overlook the negatives.”

  • Free In room wireless Internet and free printing service at front desk.
  • Although a non smoking hotel, the room smelled strongly of smoke - either from years as a smoking room or a prior guest who broke the rules.

  • Great Downtown location.
  • No coffee shop or lounge due to renovations.

“The Fish Market is an outstanding place to eat but the temporary location of the Orchard Cafe and the lack of a casual lounge was disappointing. The Hotel is a very nice facility and measures up to the star rating. Parking is convenient but no "in and out" privileges if you self park seem unaccommodating.”

  • Our original room had a bad odor. We complained and were given another room immediately.

  • I most enjoyed leaving once they sopped lying and found our truck.
  • Everything except the exits.

“I think the Westin should be stripped of all its stars, and do you know the best part is leaving. I stayed there for a week and there was one time were the elevators worked, and the same trash set there everyday. We stayed in a non smoking room and there was cigarette burns on my bed cover. And by the end of the week they ended up giving us all of our money back. Well there is plenty more, but I certainly don't OW you any more of my time.”

  • It was attractive; good location.
  • Half of the appliances were unplugged, my internet hook up didn't work, and there was no robe in the room.

“The staff was great, but I was really ticked that I had to use the business center to do my email at their exorbitant rates. They never got my internet connection in my room right. And the phones didn't work either (that did get fixed). And the clock radio, several lights, the refrigerator and the coffee maker were all unplugged. I got the clock and light by the bed plugged in, but no way was I moving the fridge.”

  • The room itself had a very nice king bed, great pillows, and good bedding.
  • The service was not good. I asked three times for a corkscrew and waited over an hour.

“This may be a good hotel for business travelers. It's also fine okay for leisure travelers. The lobby is small and not very welcoming. Few chairs to sit and wait or read. In our experience, the service was not so good: we had to ask for a corkscrew three times and wait over an hour to have one delivered. That's not luxury-hotel service, to say the least. Thus we had to wait too long to have a glass of wine after dinner (from their room bar). The hotel restaurant was ok, but way overpriced, and the service there was not top quality, despite the prices. The neighborhood at night was not very comfortable; we went for a walk looking for a restaurant, found nothing special, and rushed back to the hotel. I love Pittsburgh a lot, but this hotel didn't help impress my wife with the city at all.”

  • Location was great, spacious rooms, nice bar/restaurant, and courtesy van.
  • Hard to get people to call you a cab over to you, when cabs were across the street.

  • The hotel was very nice, close to the stealer stadium, and close to shopping.
  • The breakfast buffet was terrible for the price. There was also an additional parking charge not included in our bill.

“The hotel was very nice, good quality, and friendly staff. The room was very clean and it nice spaces and facilities. The hotel was within walking distance of the all the major Pittsburgh sports venues and shopping attractions. We did not like the additional parking charges and the breakfast buffet was not very good for the $15 fee. However, we would return and just not eat the food.”

  • The parking garage does not accept full size SUVs, does not have at least 6'8" clearance!

“Great hotel! The sushi bar is awesome and the rooms are well equipped for business or pleasure. The bed linens and towels are fantastic. The only bad thing is that the parking garage can't accept full size SUVs. I drive a Chevy Tahoe and I wanted to valet. They had to keep it in the street in front of the hotel. And I still had to pay for valet.”

“This hotel should be a easy 3 star or maybe 4 but the room are in a serious need of remodeling, not up standard for Westin hotels, the staff was average, I was checking in at the same time, has a pro hockey team, they seemed to be overloaded, this hotel excellent for conventions, attached to convention center and to events at Mellon arena. Fortunately for them I heard they were ready to shut down for three weeks for remodeling.”

  • It felt very business oriented and so the concierge service was less than amiable.

  • We tried to extend our stay and didn't hear from the staff. When we did hear, the rate was quite high.

  • Extra charge $20+ per day for parking. Free internet was extremely limited.

“The Westin meets expectations for a high quality hotel. It is easy to find, convenient, comfortable, attractive, well equipped & clean. Fish Market restaurant has a varied menu with unique and tasty selections. Affordable eating options are close by. Service is good, but not outstanding. Free internet is limited. Parking is located directly below the hotel, but adds $20+ per day for it. Very easy check-in & out.”

  • The hotel shuttle was convenient and would take you anywhere within 2 miles.
  • The attention to detail was not there. The accoutrements for a 4 star hotel weren't there.

“We liked the hotel and loved the city of Pittsburgh. It was convenient to everything we wanted to do. If not, the shuttle would take you there. The hotel was clean and the staff was accommodating to our needs. They were polite and attentive. Our overall experience was very good.”

  • Traveled with husband and had two twin beds in the room.

“Parking situation was horrible, 7 dollar for two hours, if you go in and out the hotel it is getting very expensive two twin beds no heavenly? Bathroom like promised staff at the bar was unfriendly, had to order the same thing 4! Times and when I was asking how often I have to ask for a beer she told me, I never asked her, but the first time she gave me a coke and I said no, I told you I want to have a beer -she said ok, and then she forgot, also the second and third time I order only 13 people on the bar and two servers and she forgot, but for private chatting with the other server was plenty of time at the breakfast I and my husband had to go find the server for coffee, because she was not coming by anymore after the first cup overall I would say, I would not go back because I was disappointed of the bed in the room and the servers.”

“The hotel was nice but fell short of the 4 star services we expected. The bathrooms were renovated, but poorly; the room service menu seemed limited and the extra service charge unnecessary better to charge more per item. Staff forgot to bring up the cot we requested. They were polite, but not thorough. The pool had black mold on the ceiling. We enjoyed our stay, but did not receive a four star experience in our opinion.”

  • The shower was excellent; the energy - efficient card that worked only some of the time.
  • On weekends, the Panini cafe was closed which left no options available for a quick cup of coffee/pastry in the a.m. other than a sit-down restaurant.

“When we asked about the parking, the hotel staff didn't tell us that since we were checking in late at night that we would have late-night parking privileges of $7 overnight. She only told us about the valet ($24) vs. the self-parking ($20). Luckily, we figured it out on our own, which saved us lots of money. The staff mislead us on purpose, we felt.”

  • The aroma as you walk in was great! The atmosphere was comfortable.
  • Construction on the outside. The sign from 10th Ave. was not viewable.

  • Helpful staff - especially the doormen. The rooms were very comfortable.
  • Parking was too expensive and the hairdryer in the bathroom didn't work well.
