• The room itself had a very nice king bed, great pillows, and good bedding.
• The service was not good. I asked three times for a corkscrew and waited over an hour.

“This may be a good hotel for business travelers. It's also fine okay for leisure travelers. The lobby is small and not very welcoming. Few chairs to sit and wait or read. In our experience, the service was not so good: we had to ask for a corkscrew three times and wait over an hour to have one delivered. That's not luxury-hotel service, to say the least. Thus we had to wait too long to have a glass of wine after dinner (from their room bar). The hotel restaurant was ok, but way overpriced, and the service there was not top quality, despite the prices. The neighborhood at night was not very comfortable; we went for a walk looking for a restaurant, found nothing special, and rushed back to the hotel. I love Pittsburgh a lot, but this hotel didn't help impress my wife with the city at all.”

“Clean, comfortable, conveniently located. In actuality it seemed more like a 3 star hotel. Nice, but not at all luxurious. The guest services book included a list of personal items that were available to guests upon request; however, none of the 3 items we requested were in stock.”

• Location was great, spacious rooms, nice bar/restaurant, and courtesy van.
• Hard to get people to call you a cab over to you, when cabs were across the street.

“Great hotel, beautiful building, bathroom could be updated. Some tile was loose. Staff was nice, but seemed not interested in getting you a cab when you needed one. Recommend this hotel to anyone.”

“The hotel was beautiful and convenient to arrive too. The people are friendly and helpful. It was what I expected. The parking for guests should be validated. Other than that it was to my liking.”

• The hotel was very nice, close to the stealer stadium, and close to shopping.
• The breakfast buffet was terrible for the price. There was also an additional parking charge not included in our bill.

“The hotel was very nice, good quality, and friendly staff. The room was very clean and it nice spaces and facilities. The hotel was within walking distance of the all the major Pittsburgh sports venues and shopping attractions. We did not like the additional parking charges and the breakfast buffet was not very good for the $15 fee. However, we would return and just not eat the food.”

• The bed linens and towels are fantastic.
• The parking garage does not accept full size SUVs, does not have at least 6'8" clearance!

“Great hotel! The sushi bar is awesome and the rooms are well equipped for business or pleasure. The bed linens and towels are fantastic. The only bad thing is that the parking garage can't accept full size SUVs. I drive a Chevy Tahoe and I wanted to valet. They had to keep it in the street in front of the hotel. And I still had to pay for valet.”

“This hotel should be a easy 3 star or maybe 4 but the room are in a serious need of remodeling, not up standard for Westin hotels, the staff was average, I was checking in at the same time, has a pro hockey team, they seemed to be overloaded, this hotel excellent for conventions, attached to convention center and to events at Mellon arena. Fortunately for them I heard they were ready to shut down for three weeks for remodeling.”

• We asked to be upgraded to a room with a king size bed and we were accommodated with pleasure.
• It felt very business oriented and so the concierge service was less than amiable.

• Great location next to convention center. Downtown and within walking distance to many attractions.
• We tried to extend our stay and didn't hear from the staff. When we did hear, the rate was quite high.

“Nice hotel. Great location. Good staff. Gym was quite good, but there is a separate charge during the week. Highly recommended.”

• Room was clean, comfortable and well equipped. Restaurant was pleasant, tasty food and good service. Convenient location.
• Extra charge $20+ per day for parking. Free internet was extremely limited.

“The Westin meets expectations for a high quality hotel. It is easy to find, convenient, comfortable, attractive, well equipped & clean. Fish Market restaurant has a varied menu with unique and tasty selections. Affordable eating options are close by. Service is good, but not outstanding. Free internet is limited. Parking is located directly below the hotel, but adds $20+ per day for it. Very easy check-in & out.”

• The hotel shuttle was convenient and would take you anywhere within 2 miles.
• The attention to detail was not there. The accoutrements for a 4 star hotel weren't there.

“We liked the hotel and loved the city of Pittsburgh. It was convenient to everything we wanted to do. If not, the shuttle would take you there. The hotel was clean and the staff was accommodating to our needs. They were polite and attentive. Our overall experience was very good.”

• Traveled with husband and had two twin beds in the room.

“Parking situation was horrible, 7 dollar for two hours, if you go in and out the hotel it is getting very expensive two twin beds no heavenly? Bathroom like promised staff at the bar was unfriendly, had to order the same thing 4! Times and when I was asking how often I have to ask for a beer she told me, I never asked her, but the first time she gave me a coke and I said no, I told you I want to have a beer -she said ok, and then she forgot, also the second and third time I order only 13 people on the bar and two servers and she forgot, but for private chatting with the other server was plenty of time at the breakfast I and my husband had to go find the server for coffee, because she was not coming by anymore after the first cup overall I would say, I would not go back because I was disappointed of the bed in the room and the servers.”

“The hotel was clean and staff was friendly. Easy of check in and check out. Valet parking was optional but easy. Room was clean with upgraded beds and wireless access free. Overall experience very positive and would recommend to friends and co workers.”

“The hotel was nice but fell short of the 4 star services we expected. The bathrooms were renovated, but poorly; the room service menu seemed limited and the extra service charge unnecessary better to charge more per item. Staff forgot to bring up the cot we requested. They were polite, but not thorough. The pool had black mold on the ceiling. We enjoyed our stay, but did not receive a four star experience in our opinion.”

• The shower was excellent; the energy - efficient card that worked only some of the time.
• On weekends, the Panini cafe was closed which left no options available for a quick cup of coffee/pastry in the a.m. other than a sit-down restaurant.

“When we asked about the parking, the hotel staff didn't tell us that since we were checking in late at night that we would have late-night parking privileges of $7 overnight. She only told us about the valet ($24) vs. the self-parking ($20). Luckily, we figured it out on our own, which saved us lots of money. The staff mislead us on purpose, we felt.”

• The aroma as you walk in was great! The atmosphere was comfortable.
• Construction on the outside. The sign from 10th Ave. was not viewable.

“I enjoyed the one night stay at the Westin. I wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy all that the Westin and surrounding area had to offer!”

• Helpful staff - especially the doormen. The rooms were very comfortable.
• Parking was too expensive and the hairdryer in the bathroom didn't work well.

“All the employees were friendly, courteous and helpful. The room was very comfortable with added amenities like a newspaper and robe. The shuttle bus was very convenient. I would definitely stay there again - especially for the price I paid.”

• Expensive and not much above other hotels.

“Hotel was nice, and grand to look at from outside, and in the lobby. They had a unique way to save energy with the key, and the duel shower heads with good pressure was nice. Other than that, it was like many other hotels that cost much less. For the money it cost, or we saved, I would have rather been at the Pittsburgh Renaissance.”

• Charging you for the bottle water.

“The parking fee was a little high for one night for being a guest of the hotel and they also charged $2.00 a bottle for water. Some other hotels out there give you the water for free. Other than that it was a very good night stay for the price we paid.”

• Room was by stairwell- very noisy.

“We went for a Steelers game and wanted somewhere convenient to the stadium. The Westin, while not as close as other hotels, was still within walking distance. We were put in a quiet room at the end of the floor, but it was across from the stairwell which staff used quite a bit and that quiet room was actually rather noisy. The room was above average in size and the beds and showers were great. The hotel is a high-rise and has great views from higher floors.”

• The pool and health club were nice.
• We stayed there in the middle of July and the room was hot.

“This place is fancy on the surface, but it gets a lot of the basics wrong. The air conditioner was only on when we were in the room, which left it rather hot most of the time. We ate at two restaurants: the food at the Original Seafood Market left a lot to be desired. My decent piece of swordfish was served slathered in some sort of glorified ketchup. At the breakfast buffet, we got stuck with a waiter who frankly would not leave us alone. We were unable to enjoy our meal on what should have been a pleasant Sunday morning. This hotel has potential on account of its lovely pool and fitness center, but on the whole it is a lame to stay.”

• It was a little further from exactly where I wanted to be. (across the bridge from pnc park).

• Rooms were beautiful.
• Had discussed with hotel prior to arrival getting a rollaway. When got there they refused, and had to get a 2nd room at high price.

“Hotel was beautiful and clean, but the staff did not keep the promise of allowing a rollaway in the room at no extra charge. When my husband got there the absolutely refused to allow a rollaway in the room, Had to pay for another room at higher price. If I had not been assured about the rollaway, I would have purchased 2 rooms instead of one.”

• Great public spaces and many added amenities for the guests.
• The bath tub was not clean enough to bathe in, there was no refrigerator, we were right by the ice machine, and there was an obstructed view .

“The hotel itself was in a great location with lots of places to walk to on foot. The lobby and public areas were clean and "nice" to walk through or sit and relax. I was very disappointed in the bathroom of our hotel. I could not possibly bathe in the tub. There was no refrigerator and we had a very obstructed view of the city. I expected more from a 4 star hotel. The other part of the room was very nice and the bed was made with soft sheets and fluffy pillows. It was clean and comfortable. We got a great price for a 4 star hotel, but I think we got a room reflecting that price.”
