• The views, location, & room where all great and everything we expected.
• I wish we could have had 1 king sized bed rather than 2 queen.

“This was not the first time we stayed in the Renaissance and I am sure it wont be the last. Everything in this hotel says class and style. I highly recommend this hotel for any romantic getaway as well as any business travel.”

“Beautiful hotel centrally located to the stadiums, Heinz Hall and close enough to walk to the transit line (the T) for transportation to Station Square and elsewhere. The central lobby is awe-inspiring and grand in every way.”

• There is nothing I didn't like.

“I was absolutely delighted with the luxurious lobby and the tasteful and elegant rooms and dining room. Employees were unusually friendly and helpful. Location in Downtown Pittsburgh is Prime: close to theaters, wonderful restaurants and businesses, and within walking distance of the baseball stadium.”

“Overall the stay was very nice. We were only there one night and didnt eat in the restaurant, so we did not experience much of the hotel. What we did experience was excellent. The room was very attractive and quiet. I particularly enjoyed the high ceilings.”

• Left a small, unopened bottle of wine on desk and it disappeared!

“Having flown to Pittsburgh on the red-eye with my 18-year-old daughter, we were exhausted by the time we checked into the hotel. The staff was unbelievably friendly, the room and beds were luscious. Everything exceeded our expectations.”

• The amazing decor downstairs and the clean and classy decor of each room. PLUS free internet usage was great.
• It was in an area of town where everything closes very early and the hotel restaurant was not good at all. Chatty waitress, not fresh food.

“This hotel is in an area of town that is the theater/financial district. I am told it is alive when there shows going on and it closes up early when there are not. That is important to know if you are going out of your room at 8:30pm to find a restaurant open. The hotel itself was beautiful and the front desk and maid/doorman people were very nice. But the parking situation is horrible. Expect to pay lots of money if you are coming and going in a car each day. The hotel restaurant had a waitress that talks so much to me and the table next to me that I know more about her life over the last 15 years than I know about my own teenager. Too chatty for an elegant restaurant, called us "Hon" and "Sweety" and I'm 46 years old. It was as if I was in a burger joint. Our food tasted like it was warmed up in the microwave and it took them a while to think about bringing us bread plates, etc. I do not recommend the hotel restaurant but I am told there are a lot of nice restaurants around, if you can find them open. Call ahead.”

• All staff was exceptional: Very courteous & attentive. The foyer was spectacular. Our room was huge!
• There was nothing I didn't like about this hotel.

“Upon entering the Renaissance-Pittsburgh, my brother and I knew we were in for a treat. The foyer is an astounding piece of architecture with high arched ceiling covered with intricate tile work. The hotel is absolutely immaculate with courteous staff that greeted and opened the door for us each time we entered and exited. Even the housekeeping staff seemed to care that our stay was a pleasant one.”

• Beautiful historic hotel - great restoration and ambience.
• Housekeeping.

“This hotel would have gotten higher ratings. Unfortunately housekeeping staff never arrived to attend to our room until 4:45 in the afternoon. We had been away all day and had no interest in leaving at that point so we straightened ourselves and just asked for fresh towels and toiletries. Front desk made no attempt to apologize or make amends.”

• The lobby was beautiful, the location perfect and the staff was friendly and helpful.
• I wanted a gift shop, they didn't have one but the staff recommended several places to get what I needed.

“My husband and I were in Pittsburg for a wedding and were using the time to get away from all the commitments of home. We were extremely satisfied with the hotel. The Renaissance has this amazing lobby that is filled with beautiful mosaic tiles. The atmosphere of the lobby, service areas and guest room was luxurious. I felt pampered. (I just wish I would have noticed the robe in the closet the night before we left - I would have taken advantage of that!). I have already recommended the service to others and know that we will use it again. Thank you for a memorable trip.”

• I loved our room, very big and roomy.
• Queen size bed felt smaller and not comfortable at all.

“I loved our room, it had big windows and high ceilings, made the room feel so big. The bed however was too small and not comfortable at all. The bathroom was very nice too. My friend didn't like her room that much, unlike our room her room's bathroom was built into the room. It made the hallway to the door long, and made the room feel smaller. Our's was built outwards so our room didn't suffer in size and felt much bigger. So if you're lucky, you might get a nice room.”

• The shower was broken, didn't find that out until around checkout in the morning.

• The hotel had a feel of luxury.
• The room we were given had a terrible view of the air conditioning unit. We could not see anything in the City except for a small piece of the sky.

“The hotel was very clean and welcoming. I would stay there again but hope to not get the same room as the view was dismal (looking out at the air conditioning units outside our window).”

• The lobby has beautiful architecture with marble and detailed tile work.
• Parking is expensive, $25/day!

“The Renaissance Hotel lives up to its name. Step back in time to a lobby that welcomes those with the finest of taste. Marble staircases and mosaic tile work can be appreciated by those with the most discerning eye for detail. The rooms are spacious and most with views of the river. The location is in the heart of Pittsburgh Downtown, where you can walk to your business meeting or to the ball park.”

• The bedding, towels, toilet paper and even the water were soft. Luxury to the max!
• It would have been nice to have a table, instead of a desk, in the room so we could have eaten in comfort.

• Loud, they put us next to the elevator & there was I believe a convention of some sort.

• The location was invigorating and the river view was breathtaking at night.
• That's an easy one nothing.

“This is the place to stay if you want to be in the heart of downtown Pittsburgh and yet enjoy the amenities that a fine hotel has to offer. Spectacular night time view of the river. Staff was very courteous and provided valuable information.”

• The view is great! The valet staff was really great as well.
• The door for the room did not shut all the way. I could hear all noises through the door. It was almost unsafe feeling.

“When we got to our room the door wouldn't open so we asked someone to come help us. The man that was sent up was extremely rude. Once we got in our room we found that the door did not close all the way. This presented several problems for us. Especially since it was rated as an upscale hotel, I expected more out of the hotel. Otherwise, the room was beautiful along with the view of the stadium and the river. We had a good time!”

“Perfect if you are wealthy! Quite a treat for the average family. Problem, not kid oriented! Beautiful rooms. Valet parking was very expensive and if you parked in the parking garage it to be very expensive also. I would stay there again, over and over, if I did not have children along.”

• I liked staying in such a classic building.
• The only option for parking is $25 a day valet.

“The hotel is beautiful. Get a room that is on the outside of the building for a better view. There are many theatres within walking distance. Six Penn is a great place for lunch or dinner and is also a short walk away.”

• Standard room was very small, only a double bed.

“The hotel was beautiful and very clean. Staff was very friendly and available all hours. The best feature was its proximity to the Theatre Square. We were able to walk around the block and pass 4 theatres and at least 6 restaurants. Our room was richly decorated but was very small. My husband and I did not get the restful night away from the kids we were hoping for since we were forced to share a double bed. However it was still a nice getaway. With the money we saved we were able to catch a great show at the Benedun.”

• The room service was expensive, but well worth the cost.

“This hotel exceeded all of my expectations. The staff was friendly and the room service was delicious. The view from our room was not great, but everything else made up for it. The shampoo, conditioner, body wash and soap provided by the hotel is wonderful. The bed was extremely comfortable and the mattress had a built-in pillow top mattress topper. I would recommend this hotel.”

• Classy, updated old hotel. Great room. Good location.

“We had a family get together with a total of 16 people, including 6 kids between 2 - 8. The weekend we were there, the hotel was filled with families because there was a youth hockey championship in town. Traffic (and parking) on Friday evening was challenging, because the hotel is in the heart of Pittsburgh's Theater District. But the hotel was quiet after 10:00, the public parking lot across the street was very accessible (and only $5 per day during the weekend), and the staff handled all the kids quite well. We had a great experience.”

• The bed/pillows were extremely comfortable. Able to adjust room temperature to our liking.
• Service in the Opus for Sunday brunch was poor. Food was excellent though.

“Our overall experience at this hotel was great. We would definitely stay here again. The view of PNC Park was beautiful. The lighting in the bathroom was good, but could be a bit brighter. We loved the coziness of the whole room. Plenty of space. Decor was wonderful. We felt very safe and relaxed. With the bed so close to the door, we were afraid that there would be a great deal of noise in the hall. To our surprise, it was very quiet. Thanks for a delightful experience. Hope to visit again.”

• It is a beautiful hotel in a historic building. It is also in the middle of Pittsburgh's cultural district.
• The rooms were a bits small.

“A beautiful upscale historic hotel in the heart of Pittsburgh's cultural district. Even if you do not stay in the hotel, a visitor should make a trip and see the grand lobby and taste the fine food.”

• I like the location and very much enjoyed being Downtown.
• The room was small and the person working during check in was not very friendly.

“We live outside of the city and decided to stay Downtown for a romantic weekend. The hotel was luxurious and very convenient to anywhere that we decided to go. We parked our car in the garage and made use of the subway and called a cab back from Station Square. We had an excellent time and would love to do it again.”

• The rooms were large and well decorated.
• You could hear traffic noise from the outside.

“This is one of the best hotels I have stayed. The rooms were large, airy and comfortable. The beds are on the firm side. We were on the third floor overlooking the river, so the view was fantastic, but the traffic noise woke me a couple of times each night. Ask for a higher floor room.”
