“The hotel and room was beautiful. The location was great. We were in town for a concert and was able to walk there. The staff was excellent and informative, they recommended some great restaurants and places to go. My husband and I enjoyed Pittsburg thoroughly and are looking forward to returning and staying at the Renaissance.”

- Excellent ambiance, Opus dining experience wonderful, super room.
- Loved everything.
“From the curbside bell staff to the desk, everyone was courteous and anxious to assist. We had a small appetizer in the Bridge Bar that was excellent. Our room was quiet, clean and beautiful. The views of the river and stadiums was spectacular. Their dining room, Opus, has a new menu with delicious selections and great presentation. Very historical and expansive inside. I can't wait to revisit and would recommend highly.”

- It's gorgeous, comfortable, and elegant.
- No pool for kids to swim under 18. I have a 13 & 14 yr. old.

- It was great. Most comfortable bed I've ever slept in for a hotel. Staff was great.

“The hotel was more than I expected. The room was beautiful, bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was perfect. Large and beautiful. Love the robe in the room. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. I will stay there again in a Heart Beat when I travel to Pittsburgh again.”

- The view was amazing from our room.
- I did not like the pool hours. They should leave it open 24 hours for late night dips.

The business center was great and floor space for meetings is very comfortable. I would recommend this place.”

- The beautiful decor, friendly staff, comfortable beds made our stay a wonderful experience.
- I wish the treadmills and cross trainers were of better quality, plus I wish there was a sauna.

- Room was very large with high ceilings. One of the largest and best appointed hotel rooms I have seen.
- Upper windows were dusty and had "clean me" written in the dust.
“A brilliant property in Downtown Pittsburgh. Lobby is spectacular, and my room was the largest (non-suite) room I have seen in a hotel in a downtown area. Service staff was friendly with free snacks at reception. Can't go wrong here.”

- The bathroom was nice.
- The king size bed was not even a queen size bed.
“The hotel looked great. Everyone who worked at the hotel was very courteous and very helpful. When I arrived the room had barely a queen size bed in it. When I checked with the front desk they advised me it was a king size bed. I had no view because my room overlooked an industrial sized AC unit on the roof of the building next door. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Pittsburgh, but don't ever stay.”

- Terrible area at night, incompetent staff, filthy and smelly, may be a room by the hour place.
“I can't believe it's in the Marriott chain! Scary part of Pittsburgh and I'm a native Pittsburgher. No help with luggage. No easy, safe parking. Rooms are tiny and carpets are stained. You can hear everything in the next room. Scary looking clientele. Lobby smelled terrible! Front desk staff was totally incompetent. They gave us a key to a room already occupied by someone and they charged my credit card for bills that weren't ours. Very scary and awful place.”

- In walking distance to many attractions.
- We could hear the adjoining rooms quite well & they weren't being loud.
“Truly, what a fantastic hotel we stayed in. It was close to everything we wanted to do. Only $5 to park across the street in a well-lit garage. Driving in Pittsburgh is tricky, and I'm so glad we didn't have to do much of that. View from our room was fantastic, we'll definitely be back.”

- The staff was fantastic. Friendly, courteous and amazingly helpful.
- After seeing the lobby of this hotel, I was a bit disappointed with the look of my room.
“Amazing location right by the bridge to the Pirates ball field. The other direction is the heart of the city, both within easy walking distance. Being unsure what to expect, all concerns were immediately gone after seeing the beautiful lobby and the friendly smiles of the front desk staff. Will definitely recommend this hotel.”

- The only parking available was located in a parking garage across the street. Unsure if parking would be available there if a busy time.

- The lobby was used as a dining room, food smells upon walking into the lobby and not a place to sit and rest.
“The hotel is beautiful with a staff that is attentive and friendly. Many rooms have views of the airshaft and thus are dark and gloomy. The lobby is not a lobby but a dining room thus reducing public areas.”

- It's a gorgeous hotel.
- The view from my room was the brick wall of the next building - about 5 feet away.

- Free breakfast with waffle-maker. Fridge and microwave in room.
- Floor could be cleaner.
“The hotel was a great 2-star place to stay for those shopping in Grove City. Rooms were great, and the free breakfast and internet were nice bonuses as well. Could be a little cleaner, but certainly met expectations for a 2-star establishment. I would recommend it.”

- The staff was great, and hotel was close to all of the great things in Pittsburgh.
- The room size was small, other than that nothing.

- Great location.
- Did not accommodate one thing we asked for.
“This was one of the worst hotels I have stayed at. I was up with my children until 12:30 am, trying to make sleeping arrangements for myself and our friends, even though we checked in at 5:00 pm. The hotel lied and said they would take care of things, but never did. It was an exhausting trip because of that and never did enjoy the hotel because there were so many issues to take care of. I called hotel directly after and said they would accommodate most requests. I thought you would like to know that.”
