• Location was wonderful, and staff was friendly.
• I had to check out at 5 p.m. & pay for the entire night even though I was only there 5 hours past the noon checkout.

“The hotel is in a perfect location for Steeler Fans, it made the entire experience more enjoyable. The hotel is older compared to other, but still in good condition. The staff was very friendly. The hotel has expensive parking which I did not knew about before, but they provided a crib free of charge.”

• No late-night dining, crowded.

“Many reviews of this hotel stress the additional charge for parking, although we found street parking on the other side of station square, about a five minute walk. The staff was very friendly and helpful to us whenever we came in contact with them, whether it was maid service, the hotel shuttle, or the front desk. Also, the best view in a city full of awesome views. I'd happily stay here again.”

“Awesome location. I was somewhat leery. But our room was large, clean, comfortable and an awesome view of the river, Pittsburgh skyline, and Heinz field. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Just steps away from the Clipper Boat, Incline, shops, restaurants and clubs. We will indeed be back! Even though we had to pay for hotel parking; not that bad. After all you are in downtown Pittsburgh. It is to be expected. We took the Clipper over to Heinz field to take in a football game. Over the top experience!”

• Convenient Downtown location.
• We requested a single room and specifically stated that there were 3 people. We were given a room with one bed and no alternatives.

“Very poor customer service. When we got a single room for 3 people and the room had one bed, we were offered a cot and quoted a $20 charge!”

• The location was super! They offer a complimentary shuttle service to anywhere downtown. The people in Pittsburgh are very friendly and helpful.
• The wireless internet needs serious help!

“Would stay here again. Starbucks coffee in rooms. Complimentary shuttle to anywhere downtown. Plenty of places to eat and things to do. Right next to the river, bike trail, incline, subway, buses, etc. Be sure to take the Segway tour of downtown Pitts-located in the Station Square Center. Overall A+ but I have to give the wireless internet connection a C! We felt very safe in the area.”

• Paper-thin walls, restaurant never open, shuttle driver rude and refused service.

“We stayed 3 nights at this hotel. We had to hear the conversations in the adjacent room the entire room. These walls are paper-thin. The restaurant was never open while we were there. Fortunately, there are several good restaurants nearby. The location of the hotel is convenient to downtown. The free shuttle is convenient. However, one driver refused to let us on (we were headed to a class in the morning), telling us he had to wait for "regulars" who were late for the shuttle.”

• Needs renovating, cleaning staff is inefficient.

“Located in Station Square it's a perfect location for access to Pitts sporting events. Plenty to choose from as far as restaurants and bars all within Station Square. This is a very safe and clean area also. The lobby and lounge areas are very nice, and some rooms have a great view of the river (my view was of the parking garage).”

• The hotel was clean with a spectacular view of downtown Pittsburgh.
• Check in time is supposed to be 3 pm. At 4 pm we were sitting in the lobby along with several others waiting for our rooms.

“Check in is supposed to be at 3 pm and after anxiously waiting in the lobby for an hour or so for our room, things settled down and the rest of our stay was wonderful. The hotel is clean and convenient to most area attractions. The rooms are large, clean, and have a spectacular view of downtown Pittsburgh.”

• Had a whirlpool, sauna, and fitness room along with indoor pool.
• No keys on the lockers in the pool area.

“It was very enjoyable. The room was a little small. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable to questions I asked. Warm shuttle drivers that let you know what spots to see. I'd stay again at this hotel.”

• Bar staff was inattentive, even with no other customers to wait on.

“We really liked this hotel, especially for the price. The location was great and the hotel had everything we needed. Since it appeared to be a little older, it wasn't so huge that every errand involved walking a 1/2 mile. Elevators were right down the hall from the parking lot and lobby. The surrounding neighborhood was full of shopping and dining. We particularly liked the concierge/bellman staff. They were extremely helpful and forthcoming with recommendations and tips. It will be on our short list next time we are in Pittsburgh.”

• Great location, walking distance to just about everything.
• A bit crowded, but it was memorial day weekend.

“If you are going to be staying in Downtown, Pittsburgh area, this is the hotel to be at. It is at the center of Station Square, with just about everything a walking distance away, the incline, the gateway clipper fleet, riverside, clubs, and restaurants. They offer free shuttle service to just about anywhere in the surrounding triangle area and is a very lively place.”

• I did have a great view of the river and the Downtown.
• They were redoing the coffee shop - menu was limited.

“Pretty much as I expected. Transportation to from downtown a little inconvenient and pricey. It's a good long walk, but the weather didn't cooperate. Shops in adjoining complex were pretty corny.”

• Comfortable bed. Close to shopping.
• Staff was efficient but not friendly. No smiling allowed seemed to be motto.

“Hotel was clean and comfortable. Location was good for shopping, but getting in and out of town was very difficult. Hotel staff gave us directions into town, but neglected to inform us that we would not be able to return the same way because of one-way streets and bus only lanes.”

• It was clean, beds where good.
• The security staff was up our within 5 mines of getting into the room.

“The hotel was great. We got the room for a bachelor party that happened in the Southside of Pittsburgh. Afterwards we came back, which caused the only issue we had that night. As soon as we where in the room, the security guard knocked on our door and told us to keep quiet, we literally just closed the door when he knocked on it. I guess he didn't realize that door was open. This is a hotel next to the largest bar area in the city. On a Saturday night it is known as a drunk tank. Only caution I have is that they have weddings there, so you might get yelled at for making noise.”

“This hotel is very clean and very nice. The staff was friendly and professional. The room overlooked the river and you could see Heinz Field from the room. My major problem with this hotel are the parking facilities. The guest parking lot is shared with the public who are parking for sporting events. This cramps spaces for those staying in the hotel. Worse off, the hotel did not offer to validate the parking for my self, the hotel patron. So I had to pay an extra 16 dollars a day just to park in the parking lot of the hotel I was staying in.”

“Adjoining old train station converted to shops, restaurants, amusements, also adjacent to the incline funicular up Mt. Washington, lots to see and do; very close to PNC Park and football stadium. Nice rooms with plasma TV's and very comfortable beds.”

• Location convenient to Downtown, transportation, restaurants.
• The bathroom was not clean on arrival. Internet Tech support lousy.

“This is a very nice hotel. The bathroom sink was spotted with toothpaste residue when we arrived. A call to the front desk corrected the issue very quickly. We loved the room and very comfortable beds. The water pressure in the bathrooms was not great and really hot water was not available. The views of the River and bridges were really nice from the room and the location is next to Station Square and convenient to the "T" station and Mt. Washington Inclines as well as lots of restaurants and the riverboats. Parking is also very convenient. Front Desk staff was excellent and very helpful.”

• The rooms were very nice and comfortable. Also we had trouble finding hotel and got great directions on the phone.
• There were other people on our floor that came back late and were very loud.

“This is a very nice hotel. Staff was very friendly. Convenient location to restaurants and close to the Mellon Arena was we saw the hockey game.”

• A little dirty due to age and nearby train station is noisy.

“Good hotel, nice size rooms, comfortable beds. Room has started to show its age however and rug had stains, walls were dirty but overall, ok. Location was excellent, in the heart of station square. Nearby trains passing throughout the night were quite noisy and easily heard from your room. This hotel however was better than average and not being a fussy traveler with the above mentioned items, would stay there again.”

“I would recommend this hotel to anyone! My husband and I had a wonderful time! The rooms are huge. The hotel restaurant "Pittsburgh rare" was amazing. We had the best filet in our entire lives. Anyone would enjoy their stay at the Sheraton station square.”

• The exact location we wanted and the hotel exceeded our expectations.
• Parking is $16/day.

“We were very satisfied with this hotel. We wanted to be near station square and this hotel is actually in station square. It is close to everything. The check in agent was very accommodating despite the low price paid for two rooms. The rooms were as nice as they come. Would definitely stay here again.”

“The Sheraton is a good hotel at a good location. It has boat access to Heinz Field for football games, it's an easy drive to get into downtown, and its at the bottom of the incline. It doesn't have good parking. You have to pay extra to park, which if you use their lot is ~$16 a day.”

• Parking rates (all hourly) were gouging if you used your car at all during the evening. In essence, you had to pay twice the daily maximum.

• Parking costs are outrageous.

“I was very pleased with my stay at this hotel with the exception of the parking fees. I shouldn't have to pay (and it's not cheap) every time I leave the hotel. If you need to charge for parking, make it a daily rate and allow guests to come and go as they please. For this reason, I may not stay at the hotel again.”

“Located in a hotspot area among restaurants - it's a short walk into the downtown business area. However, its better not to have a car as the hotel itself has no parking so using the garage nearby costs $16 overnight & there is no in & out privilege. Each exit/entry starts a new parking cycle. Much too costly for Pittsburgh. The room itself was nice w/ newer furnishings, an HD-TV & high speed internet access. The elevators could use an upgrade. A generally decent hotel values less the parking.”

• A free shuttle van all day and evening to just about anywhere with pick up and return available.
• Nothing really except possibly the nearby railroad tracks and an occasional freight train passing by.

“Clean, comfortable with a very friendly and helpful staff and while it is across the river from downtown Pittsburgh. Some rooms (ours) have a nice view of the river and they have a free shuttle they will take you and pick you up almost anywhere within reason.”

“I enjoyed the location of the hotel, very pretty location and a friendly staff. The bell hop staff (with the exception of one very helpful black gentleman) was not very forthcoming about the discount parking lot. They were content to let us park for $16 a night. If not for the helpful gentleman telling us that we can park for $6 for as long as we want, we would have overpaid. The rest of the staff, especially the maids were very friendly and helpful.”

• They easily accommodated an extra person in our room with a rollaway!
• Really nothing.

“I booked the hotel for two of us and found out we needed another bed in the room for my teenager. They immediately gave us a roll away! Then we needed a refrigerator - again no problem. The bar tenders bent the rules and served us late at night. The view of the city was gorgeous from our window. We had a flat screened TV that was better than anything we'd ever seen. It was more than we had ever even hoped for!”

“Room was small and cramped and for us rather depressing for the rating of the hotel. The views from all rooms, either up or down the river with the downtown off at an angle were quite good. Hotel is in a lively touristy area.”

• No valet. Self parking is expensive.
