“I would not stay here again.” May 9, 2009 by
Jamison from Los Angeles,CA
“Pretty outdated and not attractive in the least bit, but adequate overall with an excellent location, in my opinion. The courtyard around the pool has trees next to it, and around 11pm these birds flock to them and proceed to chirp loudly throughout the night. It was like nothing I've ever heard - actually kept me from sleeping. They need to do something about those birds.” May 7, 2009 by
William from Pembroke Pines,FL
“For a hotel that was built in 1955, the Sheraton Yankee Clipper has been wonderfully maintained. The staff from reception to final check out was exceptional. The front desk was very accommodating on check in. The valet staff was very friendly and courteous. I cannot wait to return next year after the scheduled refurbishment.” Apr 29, 2009 by
Nancy from Lufkin,TX
“Older hotel, but seemed to be maintained. Room was clean. View was fantastic. Desk staff cordial & helpful. Two attempts at restaurant was not pleasant. Tried dinner & breakfast. Staff not attentive or friendly. Cost over $6.00 to print out a boarding pass for our return flight. Most hotels provide that service free. Valet parking was $19.00 a day. Apr 26, 2009 by
Tina from Port St. Lucie,FL
“The staff was excellent, very friendly and helpful. A beautiful location, right on the beach.” Apr 18, 2009 by
Cameron from Washington,DC
“It is a decent hotel in a decent location. You are right on the beach, although not near bars and restaurants. The lounge and restaurant are reasonable, although we did not spend much time there.” Apr 12, 2009 by
Nancy Pollard from Saratoga Springs,NY
“The hotel was fine for a moderate hotel. The staff was most accommodating when the noise level outside out courtyard pool front room got too loud they moved us to a much nicer room with no questions asked. The restaurant was dark and funky not inviting at all, we did not eat there. For one night awaiting another flight to the Bahamas it was fine, but I probably would not go back. It was clean enough and the staff was excellent, but it was nothing special.” Mar 24, 2009 by
Nancy from Brantford,Canada
“Super location, but really tired hotel, looking like it's in major need of attention, especially the public areas. The rooms aren't that bad, except you can get view of parking lots. Entrance into our section was through a really drab commercial garage.” Mar 17, 2009 by
Carol from Poplar Grove,IL
“Received very nice upgraded room because I am a Starwood Preferred.” Mar 14, 2009 by
Russell from Philadelphia,PA
“The carpet in the room was dirty, with several large spots. Charged for use of computer and $3.00 charge to print boarding passes. No refrigerator in room. Double Tree where we stayed last month offers free computers and printer. There is a refrigerator in room and it is a much newer and cleaner hotel.” Mar 5, 2009 by
Mark from Wallkill,NY
“Don't go. I went down to Lauderdale. Sheraton has no dignity, nor do they have the decency. The carpet was a peeling. Stuff was oozing from the ceiling. Light headed I'm a feeling. I should have heeded the warning. Walls so thin, I heard some snoring. Even the nightlife was a boring. The Wreck bar was a fitting name. The whole property should do the same.” Feb 27, 2009 by
Lisa from Cleveland,OH
“Very nice location, great beach and friendly staff.” Feb 24, 2009 by
Shirley from Thunder Bay,Canada
“Hotel amenities such as restaurant and pool were good, restaurant food was tasty & service was friendly. The rooms however were definitely not what we were expecting. There is much maintenance work and more thorough cleaning of the rooms required before I would ever say this resort as 3+. Perhaps rooms in other areas of the resort are in better condition however unfortunately for us our room was not.” Feb 17, 2009 by
Larry from Scottsdale,AZ
“We were given a handicaped room. They said that is the room that Priceline requested. The room had a broken showerhead. Very bad room. Mananger was not there. Desk people were not very nice.” Feb 16, 2009 by
kevin from Kenner,LA
“nice beachfront hotel, great for kids on spring break” Feb 14, 2009 by
vicki from Westville,IN
“it was clean and close to the beach” Feb 11, 2009 by
Bill from Gainesville,FL
“Good location, bad everything else. It was like a 1 or 2 stars at most.” Feb 9, 2009 by
Bobbie from Avondale,AZ
“Our trip was a one night stay prior to a cruise. It was adequate for our purposes. The room was in need of new carpet, even a make over.” Feb 3, 2009 by
Michelle from Copenhagen,DE
“The hotel had all necessary needs but lacked some charm. The swimming pool was made on the first floor which meant it quickly became shaded.” Jan 31, 2009 by
Adam from Portland,OR
“This hotel should not be a Sheraton. It is very old with exterior corridors. The hotel has really needs to be remodeled. The outside needs to be painted. The pool closes at 5PM. and does not have stairs to get in it. There is no hot tub. The rooms smell like mold. The bathroom has a sliding door that does not close all the way. The carpet is old and has mildew. The A.C. compressor does not work well and is loud. The beds are not heavenly beds that most Sheratons have. The TV's are 20 inch round tube television that have a horrible picture. The internet is slower than 512 megabytes and costs 14.95 per day. The steakhouse restaurant is very good for supper and has a great buffet breakfast, but it is very pricey and and is the only restaurant close by. The hotel is a long 25 minute walk from the main part of North beach where all of the other restaurants are. The hotel is ion the beach and provided free lounge chairs.” Jan 23, 2009 by
Kristi from Jackson,MO
“Valet parking service was excellent, but didn't expect having to pay for parking (12/night). Concierge, room service, two pools, bar and restaurant were nice. Location nice as you could go behind hotel to beach. Had three buildings, we stayed in the older one with small rooms and only double beds in rooms with 2 beds, no queen size. We didn't stay at the hotel much, okay to just stay, I wouldn't vacation at this location though.” Jan 19, 2009 by
Eileen from Cincinnati,OH
“The parking garage, although it was separated from the hotel, was very easy to find when driving in, and it was not a far walk to the lobby. The walkway was covered and one could get to the car without having to go outside. The room was large. The restaurants and the small store for snacks, sandwiches, and drinks was very convenient.” Jan 8, 2009 by
Edward from Lawrenceville,GA
“Were very disappointed with the overall hotel except for the location and the view. Rooms are dated and carpet dirty with many spots. Elevator was dirty. Very noisy with paper thin walls hearing everything from neighboring rooms. Air condition rattling and noisy. Complain to front desk and respond was I don't care attitude. We are talking of the Sheraton here which is normally high rated hotels. We expected the hotel to be high standard because of the Sheraton name, but it was not. I would rate it a 1 and we are being generous, except for the view and location.” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jan 5, 2009 by

“I expected it to be somewhat dingy because of the age of the hotel. Much to my delight it was charming and well maintained. I would Nov 26, 2008 by

“Location is good but the property needs updating and repairs. There are other hotels that provide better value.” Oct 15, 2008 by
Brian
“The Yankee Clipper was decent. Rooms are outdated, but very clean. Good location on the beach. Room service was cold stale food for 5 star prices.” Sep 22, 2008 by
Brian
“It was well worth the cost. It is old, but in pretty good shape. Right on the beach and a 5 minute walk to shops and restaurants.” Sep 14, 2008 by
K from Coral Gables, FL
“This hotel is great when the sun is shining due to the beach front location and 2 pools with associated facilities (BBQ & Tiki Bar etc.). The pool sun beds have comfy mattresses and there are plenty. But there is not enough to do if the weather is poor. The food and service in the restaurant were good. Famous for Bar / pool scene in 'Analyze this!” Sep 12, 2008 by
Orlando from Ferndale, MI
“Location was great! Hotel needs a lot of work though. It is in need of a facelift, remodel and renovation!” Sep 9, 2008 by
Tina from Rock Island, IL
“Nice lobby. Filthy room with stained pillowcases. Door to the outside wouldn't close all the way. Smelly.” Sep 8, 2008 by
Mariesol from Severn, MD
“The room decor was decent. First room smelled of moldy. Changed rooms smelled better but A.C. not was working.” Sep 6, 2008 by
Kevin from Mansfield, GA
“Overall a nice place to stay, enjoyed the beach and the rooms were clean and comfortable.” Sep 6, 2008 by
Jessica from Chicago, IL
“This hotel is perfect if you want to be right on the beach. I did not like how confusing it was to find our room, there is 4 different towers & a Skywalk where you park your vehicle, once we parked we had to walk across skywalk, take elevator down, walk across one tower all the way to the end then take another elevator. However if you don't mind all that it's perfect to stay if you want to be right on the beach.” Sep 5, 2008 by
Angela from Coral Springs, FL
“Housekeeping was very nice. Front desk staff had somewhat of 'oh well' attitude.” Sep 4, 2008 by
Andrew from Richmond, VA
“The property is older. When I initially checked in I had to be moved to another location due to the air conditioning unit which was malfunctioning and soaking the carpet by not exiting the water to outside. I had to be moved to another room, which had a great view, however I had to be moved because their were bed bugs. While the bed bugs can happen in any hotel. It was a disappointing stay.” Sep 4, 2008 by
William from Austin, TX
“The interior is okay except the bathroom. The lighting is too old and dim. The drive way in the parking garage is so narrow that you hardly make a turn. The bump in the garage is huge. Unless you are driving an SUV or truck, your car make have a little damage by the bump.” Sep 3, 2008 by
Chris from Wauwatosa, WI
“Yankee Clipper did not meet my expectations. Me and my party were disappointed. I have stayed in several hotels in this area and this one far under performed. I would not stay at this hotel again.” Sep 1, 2008 by

“Zero quality, would not pay a dime for their rooms. Dirty and bad smell all around the room and halls.” Aug 31, 2008 by
Vernon from Boston, MA
“The location and proximity to Ft Lauderdale airport was perfect. The location of the hotel is great for the beach, a bit of a walk to the shops & restaurants on the strip. There were no views, there was an additional charge for parking of 12$ per day, the echoing sound of water (plumbing) running through the walls was loud.” Aug 24, 2008 by
Scott from Monmouth Junction, NJ
“This hotel was a bad experience from the get go. First, there was a $12 charge to park (or $16 for valet). To use umbrellas on their private beach was a $10 charge. The hotel had a very musty smell. The bed was uncomfortable as the bed springs were loud and very easy to feel. The thermostat could not be adjusted, there was no vent or fan in the bathroom, there was a short in the light entering the room. The electrical outlets were unsafe (could not charge phone/camera). This is an old hotel in real need up a facelift inside and out. Hard to believe Sheraton lends their name to this place.” Aug 20, 2008 by
Mary from Dorchester Center, MA
“Hotel is pretty old & dated, rooms were very nice, beds comfortable. It is a non-smoking hotel, but our room smelled of cigarette smoke. Housekeeping sprayed something, which didn't help, the windows didn't open so we couldn't air it out. The hotel was full & we were stuck for the night.” Aug 19, 2008 by
Kevin D. from Johnson City, TN
“The Yankee Clipper reminded me of a smaller scale Vegas-style hotel. There are 3 buildings spread out over the property located at the southern end of FTL beach. This location does make it a walk to the main shopping/eating area but keeps the beach relatively open for guests. The hotel staff was surprisingly friendly for a south Florida hotel. The beach was nicely kept and maintained by the staff. If you plan on eating or drinking at the beach bar, or restaurant be prepared to drop some money. The worst part of this trip was the $12 a night parking fee.” Aug 15, 2008 by
Nathan from Kissimmee, FL
“There is no way this is a 3 star resort. The shower was moldy, bed sheets were not clean, and the overall hotel was very dated.” Aug 14, 2008 by
Annette from Henderson, NV
“Our room was across from a hotel that had a loud outdoor bar. The music was so loud the windows and floor in our 6th floor room were vibrating unit 12:30 am. We could not even here the TV.” Aug 14, 2008 by
Chris from Stow, OH
“This place is a dump. I have never stayed at a 3 star hotel and been this disappointed. The hotel needs major renovations and upgrades. There were people yelling the entire time I was there. There was a fight going on next to my room at 4 am and called the front desk and it wasn't resolved. When I told them at checkout about it, they told me I didn't follow protocol. Whatever that means.” Aug 11, 2008 by
Julie from Visalia, CA
“The hotel staff was for the most part friendly and helpful. The only exception was the beach staff. They were rude and unhelpful. Even with the tip, they did not want to set up our chairs. Both pool areas were nice. We loved being able to walk to restaurants and shopping. The beach was magnificent!” Aug 5, 2008 by
Victoria from Pittsburgh, PA
“The hotel had friendly service. There was easy access to the ocean. We were in walking distance of many of the local restaurants.” Aug 4, 2008 by
Melissa from Skiatook, OK
“This hotel was perfect for our family's needs and very clean and accommodating. We did feel the breakfast buffet was overpriced $18.00 and were unhappy with the fact that they added a service charge of $8.00 when dining there for breakfast. Because of this, we did not feel the need to leave a gratuity. There was also a problem with the air freshener they used when cleaning. It was overpowering, smelling very much like cheap men's cologne. It made me sick and gave me a headache. Otherwise, we were very happy with all the amenities and service.” Aug 1, 2008 by
Dana from El Cajon, CA
“Overall a great experience. Had to pay to park, pay to use the wireless internet, pay for towels by the pool. But, it was a great location!” Jul 31, 2008 by
Eddie from Laurelton, NY
“I stayed at the Marriot Resort in the same area a few times. The hotel is fine if you're not expecting much. There is nothing much in the general area and its a pretty good walk to the restaurants and bars. The beach across the street is public so bring your own chairs. Overall, it was okay.”
