“The Hyatt Pier 66 in Fort Lauderdale, FL is a beautiful hotel with well manicured grounds and lovely oversized rooms. The location of the hotel requires a 1/2 mile walk to restaurants off of the property.” Apr 23, 2008 by
Marysol from Montreal, QC CA
“Very close to the beach, very good service, very nice rooms in front of the pool, quick service the only problem was the cleanest of the floor.” Apr 17, 2008 by
Kathy from Farmington Hills, MI
“Didn't like the $10 charge for the work out room and the $20 breakfast buffet is a bit high.” Apr 17, 2008 by
Ann-Marie from Marshfield, MA
“We stayed here for one night and they upgraded us into one of the lanai rooms with a view of the marina. Coming from a bad experience in Miami, I must say, this was wonderful all around. Staff, facilities, food, coffee, room, shower, everything, absolutely loved it and wished I was staying for the whole week. The pool was great, yummy pina coladas. I would stay here again in a heartbeat! The pictures on the web depict exactly what you see in your rooms. Bear in mind that we were in a recently updated room so that is a question you might want to ask. We were not in the tower. I just got home tonight and I miss it already!” Apr 15, 2008 by
Larry from Windsor, ON CA
“I would recommend this hotel to anyone. We will definitely stay there again. It was an all around wonderful time. The staff was friendly and helpful at all times - they treated you as if you were of utmost importance. Thanks to all the staff.” Apr 15, 2008 by
Steve from Pittsburgh, PA
“The service was great, A+. The pool area is like being in a resort and the rooms where big with a great big comfy bed. I would stay here every time I go to Fort Lauderdale. I personally recommend the rooms that are only two stories tall that surround the pool area. Those are the ones we stayed in and they overlook the pool and have easy access to the pool also. It was very tranquil.” Apr 14, 2008 by
Frederic from Nashua, NH
“The Hyatt would have been better served by not giving me a room, and I don't need Zagat to spread the word.” Apr 13, 2008 by
Carol from Decatur, GA
“We talked them out of it. They are far from the beach but have a beautiful pool complex. Rooms are very nice.” Apr 9, 2008 by
Horacio from Atlanta, GA
“Great lobby, looks like an old property half renovated, the room has great furniture but walls and windows looked old, the room had a great view to the marina, Pool was nicely illuminated at night nice gardens HS.” Apr 5, 2008 by
Nicole from St Louis, MO
“Great hotel with art deco decor. Half of rooms have good view. Quick cab ride to airport. Pool area very relaxing but no beach access. The restaurant was expensive for quality of food.” Apr 4, 2008 by
Cindy from Livermore, CA
“Clean, staff great, close to cruise port which was needed but not to anything else which made it difficult to go anywhere. Room had things needing repair, i.e. shutters at door, no chairs for sitting outside (rooms next to ours did), pool area nice. Room overall was okay but I wouldn't consider it 4 star - maybe 3 1/2.” Apr 2, 2008 by
Willy from Eastport, NY
“The staff was excellent, early check in was no problem, the pool was beautiful.” Mar 30, 2008 by
Bridge from Brentwood, TN
“When renovations are complete it will be fine. Dining options were expensive and very few choices on menu. No kids menus. Staff at front desk were nice and helpful. We used taxi to get around. Shuttle service to beach was not convenient and no one knew.” Mar 26, 2008 by
Laura from Columbia, MD
“The Hyatt Regency Pier 66 was better than I expected. After the reviews I read, I was skeptical of the hotel. But I made sure to request Tower rooms two weeks before we left and was accommodated accordingly. The staff couldnt be nicer. They helped with every question. I traveled with a group of 5 in our late 20's/early 30's and we were really happy with the pool and a little disappointed that the hotel bar closed at 11pm. The location is a cab ride away from most restaurants, except their own. The Pelican Landing has a great view of the Drawbridge and Cruise ships leaving. They do offer a free shuttle to the beach every hour which is helpful. But we only took it once because the pool was too nice to leave. The pool bar was nice and the drink prices do run a little high, but that is to be expected. Overall, the room was clean and we would return to this hotel if we come back to Fort Lauderdale.” Mar 22, 2008 by
Richard from Ocean City, NJ
“The hotel was very nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful.” Mar 22, 2008 by
Paul from Naples, FL
“Was informed I would have a garden pool side room after one hour waiting they gave me a tower room very loud music till midnight right above our heads from some party could not rest.” Mar 22, 2008 by
Tirzah from Dania Beach, FL
“From the time I pulled up to valet, everyone was very nice and helpful. I live very close to the city I was in at the hotel, and I really felt as if I was out of town on a vacation. Very attentive in every aspect. On the downside, I made it a point to get a nice room, and I was elated as I walked through the hotel to the ninth floor. I was disappointed when I opened my room door. It was obvious I paid for the hotel's beauty and ambience, not the room. But it was a pleasant stay nonetheless!” Mar 17, 2008 by
Dan from Leawood, KS
“Great location. Staff needs to be increased to meet four star billing.” Mar 16, 2008 by
Tim from Vienna, VA
“Nice place with easy access to FLL.” Mar 15, 2008 by
Andy from Pittsburgh, PA
“I was concerned when I read the reviews, however, when I stayed at this hotel, I was glad that I stayed at this hotel. Yes; the hotel was 0.8 miles away from the beach, and yes; my room faced the pool, no ocean view. However, the staff was kind and friendly. The construction seemed to be finished. I was able to check in early at 12:00, and they got rid of the required wireless internet connection charge. The food at Grill 66 and Pelican's Landing was excellent. I would love to comeback for the food. The facilities were nice. And the gas station right across the street had drinks and snacks, so if you want to save some money, you can get them from the store. Also, the pool was nice. We went swimming three days in a row. Overall, it was a pleasant experience; I would definitely comeback next year.” Mar 7, 2008 by
Darlene from Longmont, CO
“The main building and grounds (22 acres) were lovely as was the pool and Jacuzzi. The location was convenient and there were several dining choices, the room was a disappointment. The wall switch plate was dirty, the toilet rocked back and forth, there were a lack of amenities, the coffee pot was a single cup pot with no outlet close by.” Mar 7, 2008 by
Gretchen from Marion, MA
“Attractive hotel though be prepared to walk to your room. Everything is very laid out. Not walking distance to the beach you need to take a shuttle.” Mar 6, 2008 by
Francis from Niagara Falls, NY
“Excellent.” Feb 22, 2008 by
Julie from Orlando, FL
“Hotel is beautiful but I did not feel that the room was worth the price I paid. I was told that we would have an "upgraded" room since no king size beds were available, but I don't think there was anything special about it at all.” Feb 19, 2008 by
Shara from Jolieti, IL
“Pier Sixty Six was a beautiful place. It over looks the harbor on one side and the other side was a great view of the gorgeous pool area. There is a fee shuttle that takes to and from the beach area which was awesome. If you are staying for leisure you will need a rental car to check out the town.” Feb 19, 2008 by
Roger from Dublin, OH
“Hotel is very nice and in a great intercostals waterway viewing area, but you only see it if you are up in the tower. the lower level rooms surrounding the pool don't have such a nice view. I was also disappointed to find out it was undergoing renovation and some services were not available. The price of the breakfast buffet seemed out of line ($20). Overall liked the stay because they gave us a free upgrade to the tower and the view was both beautiful and romantic.” Feb 17, 2008 by
Fred from Chagrin Falls, OH
“European looking, with prices in euros! Coffee in am for 3-4$. Not many places to eat but with courteous staff. The top of the hotel with a scenic view that was advertised not open to public. Dont go with kids; you'll be broke after a few meals.” Feb 15, 2008 by
Diana from Hornell, NY
“The staff was very accommodating, and the room was first rate. We did not have a car for the two nights we were there, but did not need one. The concierge was extremely helpful in giving us help about tours and getting to our cruise ship. I liked the idea that the pool and outdoor restaurant were located in a "quad" type area that was protected from the outside, but was large enough so you didn't feel crowded. A very quiet, restful stay.” Feb 14, 2008 by
Dan from Naples, FL
“An excellent place to stay if attending a convention nearby friendly staff very acceptable workout room.” Feb 14, 2008 by
Victoria from Skokie, IL
“Overall, a wonderful hotel. Very convenient to beaches and conference center. Courteous staff, very child friendly, pools were wonderful and clean. I would stay there again without a doubt. Worth the price.” Feb 8, 2008 by
Rick from Toronto, ON CA
“If you are stuck for a roof for your head, this place is comfortable enough.” Feb 5, 2008 by
Danelle from Winnipeg, MB CA
“The view from the balcony is excellent, quiet and peaceful for a morning coffee and the newspaper. Bed comfortable and room quite. The pool is fantastic and the exercise room well stocked with weights and cardio machines. Staff here friendly, drinks brought to the chair at the pool but not overly in your face so you can enjoy a peaceful holiday on your own. Location great, with a car, close to stores, the beach and restaurants. I would return here again, its like an all inclusive without being trapped in one spot and dependent on one spot for entertainment.” Feb 4, 2008 by
Colleen from Lilburn, GA
“Very nice hotel, would stay here again. The grounds were well kept and the pool area was beautiful. The only problem we experienced was with the water taxi service. We waited approximately 30 minutes for it to arrive and when it did, we were told that we couldn't board because it was full and that another taxi would arrive in an hour! Needless to say, we never got to ride the water taxi.” Jan 28, 2008 by
Alan from Great Falls, VA
“This hotel has been recently renovated so it's in excellent condition. Our room was spacious and in immaculate condition with a new flat-screen TV. Because the hotel's main high rise tower is circular, the higher up rooms in the tower (and the 360-degree observation room on the top floor) have superb views of the ocean, intercostals waterway, and/or Downtown. The only disadvantage is that the hotel is a few blocks off the ocean. The employees were efficient and courteous.” Jan 28, 2008 by
Kristen from Rochester, NY
“The hotel is located in a convenient location. It is more like a motel than a hotel. The room was clean and the beds are comfortable, but the bathroom was very dark and really needs to be updated.” Jan 28, 2008 by
John from Long Grove, IA
“Very nice, simple, no frills.” Jan 25, 2008 by
Karim from Cambridge, MA
“The hotel falls short of a luxury hotel but is a convenient for a short term stay. Its comfortable but do not expect to be wowed. The spa is tacky. The gym needs renovation. The lobby was renovated and some of the rooms. Room service is way overpriced. You can get a meal nearby for a fraction of the price.” Jan 24, 2008 by
Chris from Ottawa, ON CA
“Good stuff for a weekend anything longer and I would have been wanting of more eating options - hotel lacked a "coffee shop" where a quick meal could have been obtained.” Jan 14, 2008 by
Jamie from Alexandria, VA
“The room I stayed in was not a 4 star room, 2.5 star at best. The grounds and pool were beautiful. The room was updated in places, new tile floor in the bathroom, new paint, but that's about it. Overall the room was dingy and had a medicinal smell. With this said, it looked like there were some updated rooms. My room was not located in the main hotel, it was in the farthest corner from the main hotel. I had to cross the very large yard and pool area to get to it. Needless to say as a single female traveler returning to my room fairly late I was a little concerned about my safety. I did not see any security guards walking the property and it was poorly lighted.” Jan 12, 2008 by
Neal from Westfield, NJ
“This hotel is not quite on the beach, but it is a 5 min drive to the beach, and the hotel offers a shuttle. The pool area is so nice, that you really don't even need the beach. Rooms in the tower are a nice size with large bathrooms, great balconies and flat screen TV's. While it is less than a 10 min drive to everything (Las Olas, Beach, Airport, Shopping) there is really nothing in walking distance from the hotel itself. Not a big deal for us, but might be for some.” Jan 9, 2008 by
Mark from Powder Springs, GA
“Overall excellent. Just don't eat there.” Jan 9, 2008 by
Paula from Port Washington, NY
“Very comfortable and clean room - wonderful bedding and fabulous views. Very accommodating staff.” Jan 2, 2008 by
Howie from Lawrenceville, GA
“Beautiful hotel, grounds & setting. Great pools & hot tubs. Super for business travelers, romantic get away or family trip. Hotel still under construction.” Dec 31, 2007 by
Hanh from Robbinsdale, MN
“This hotel looks good from the outside, but the room is too dirty. I don't have a good service. We had to walk a long distance to our room. I thought I paid a high price to have a better room and a nice view. It is better to pay a good price for a better place than the Hyatt Regency pier sixty six in fort Lauderdale, fl.” Dec 28, 2007 by
Paul from Knoxville, TN
“The hotel was in the middle of a rehab and for the price was not worth the stay, the room was not decorated and the A.C. Unit was old and made a very loud sound and would not allow for sleep. The bed was good and the TV only got about 8 channels and the bathroom was poorly remodeled. Not what one would expect from a Hyatt. I swear I will never stay there again!” Dec 21, 2007 by
Jd from West Bloomfield, MI
“The hotel was nice. We had to leave the hotel and walk outside to a different building.” Dec 17, 2007 by
April from Pikeville, KY
“This hotel was great and I feel like I got a great deal.” Dec 17, 2007 by
Barry from University Hts, OH
“The rooms are beautifully updated and the working spaces are good. The expansive and clean shower was great. The exterior needs a little updating. Lava stone is definitely out!” Dec 15, 2007 by
Carmen from Seattle, WA
“The hotel seemed in need of refurbishing. Paint and tiles looked tired. The room air conditioning unit was extremely loud as it cycled on and off. Bed linens were good crisp and immaculate white. The grounds were attractive. Breakfast was a choice of a quick and limited continental breakfast (coffee in Styrofoam cups) in the lobby looking out on the grounds or a full breakfast in a windowless room. It would have been helpful to have clear information about the distance and available transportation between the hotel and the center of town.” Dec 12, 2007 by
Kihyung from Miami, FL
“Parking fee charge, location was ok.” Hotel Representatives:
