“Loved this hotel - staff was great - decor of all areas was superb - definitely exceeded my expectations in all areas - beach was wonderful.” May 16, 2009 by
GP from Bowie,MD
“A wonderful hotel with great staff. Probably an older hotel that has been totally refurbished. Completely classy. Loved the staff coming to the beach to take orders for drinks/food. Loved that they set you up with lounge chairs and umbrellas on the beach. Food at restaurant was great.” May 1, 2009 by
Tiana from Edmonton,Canada
“Very nice looking hotel. Right on the beach. Provided nice beach towels and beach chairs. Pool area was really nice too. We didn't eat, but the poolside food was reasonably priced. Bed was comfortable. Rooms were stylish. View from our room was amazing. Parking is $38 a day - not sure if there was cheaper parking nearby.” Feb 12, 2009 by
Celeste from Saint Louis,MO
“I was very pleased with this hotel. It was clean, the staff was pleasant, and the hotel was very quaint and comfortable. The room and bathroom were a little small and we had a hard time maneuvering around each other. They were actually working on the hotel and I think when they are finished, it is going to be even nicer. My husband and I had stayed the two previous nights at the Fountain Blue (business) and then moved to The Palms. We both said we liked the Palms better in a lot of ways. The Fountain Blue is beautiful but it is so big. We preferred the location and the quaintness of the smaller hotel.” Dec 27, 2008 by
keene from Quakertown,PA
“I was there during a cold week. The thermostat in the room shows there is heat but cold air keeps coming out of the vent. There is no indication on the thermostat controls to tell me there is NO heat in the entire hotel until I call the front desk who told me. There no coffee pot or complimentary coffee in the room too. It is only located near the beach but not close to any tourist shopping attraction.” Nov 21, 2008 by
Alena from Wallnut,CA
“We stayed only one day, whishing we can stay longer and enjoy the pool and the beach.” Nov 13, 2008 by
Tom from Lakewood,CA
“Nice hotel. Great room with a view. No cheaper breakfast and dining close by. Staff could have been nicer.” Oct 20, 2008 by
Miranda
“Very classy hotel. The employees were super professional. They even escorted us to the beach and catered to our every need. I think this is the best customer service I have ever had at a hotel.” Oct 14, 2008 by
Bob “Hotel was very nice. Pool and beach access were great. walking distance to all we wanted to do. Minor amount of construction while we were there.” Oct 12, 2008 by

“Highly recommended. Beautifully renovated 1930's building and exceptional staff. Still a lot of renovating going on.” Oct 4, 2008 by

“I liked the hotel, pretty setting. If you are Sep 21, 2008 by

“Hotel has been updated nice rooms. Construction going on by the pool jack hammers etc. Expensive poor quality food. The area is transitional. Beach is dirty with disadvantaged people hanging out. Construction is going on all around hotel. Nothing much close by to eat except snack bars but they are much better than the expensive hotel food and drinks.” Sep 14, 2008 by
Lee from Brooklyn, NY
“A classy hotel at a great.” Sep 13, 2008 by
Nancy from Evergreen Park, IL
“The Palms is a beautiful resort like hotel right on the ocean in Miami. It is in the middle of a very run down area and you will need to cab over to the South Beach area to really enjoy your stay.” Sep 9, 2008 by
Jeff from Jensen Beach, FL
“Indulge in the atmosphere of Miami Beach at this 4-star hotel on the ocean. Enjoy a lazy day in a hammock while the bar staff continuously circulates to fulfill your every need. The aroma from the made to order omelets will make your mouth water.” Sep 5, 2008 by
Rodrigo from Marietta, GA
“For the price the hotel was very good, although there is some construction going on right by it and it may cause a little disturbance. By the time you add the daily parking fee and resort fee (total of $38).” Sep 3, 2008 by
Jill from Fort Myers, FL
“This hotel exceeded our expectations. The value was excellent and location was perfect. We only stayed overnight but because the amenities were so convenient, we had an opportunity to hang at the beach and pool.” Sep 2, 2008 by
Jesse “It was everything I could expect from a 4 star hotel. Great service. Nice rooms. Spectacular amenities.” Sep 1, 2008 by
r “This hotel has very friendly and polite staff. The pool-side bar with hammocks reminded me of a smaller version of a Mexican resort. I would highly recommend this hotel, although beware that there is no coffee or tea in the rooms (something that is important to me), valet parking is $27, and other small costs here and there that can add up if you're not careful! Beautiful pool-side restaurant!” Aug 25, 2008 by
Christopher from Brighton, MA
“Great atmosphere in an excellent location. Amenities are very nice but the rooms & hallways need to be redone. Overall, however, I would recommend this to any person looking to stay on Miami beach who is on a budget.” Aug 12, 2008 by
Robbie from Columbus, OH
“The Palms was more beautiful than I expected! We were quite pleased and think it was a great value with high quality service in an accessible location. The beach access is wonderful!” Jul 26, 2008 by
George from Sagamore Hills, OH
“Will never stay there again.” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jul 22, 2008 by

“This hotel was awesome. Very upscale but the staff was down to earth. The pool was great and the hotel was right on the beach. There was a great Cuban restaurant we ate at called Tropical beach cafe that was awesome. The area was nice just too far away from the night life.” Jul 12, 2008 by
Marie from Jesup, GA
“The Palms South Beach Hotel is located right on the beach. You can exit this hotel's back door to take a swim in their large heated pool, walk or jog down the long boardwalk, or walk onto the beach and enjoy the blue water. My family and I enjoyed ourselves so much, we didn't want to leave. I would recommend this hotel to anyone!” Jun 9, 2008 by
Todd from Idaho Falls, ID
“There were about 40 dollars in undisclosed fees that we had to pay. They put my wife and I in a room with two double beds. When we asked if we could get a queen or king room, they said they were completely booked. They definitely were not fully booked. I would definitely not stay at the Palms, South Beach again.” Jun 5, 2008 by
Joe from Houston, TX
“A very nice romantic spot, with a great view of the beach, a boardwalk that provides a bit of romance late in the evening and very special garden to view the stars while stroding.” May 31, 2008 by
Claritza from Brooklyn, NY
“The hotel is beautifully located in the hart of South Beach. Customer service was excellent. The food is really delicious. The pool was very clean. Hotel was really better that I expected. Valet parking was a little bit price it, but worth it. The only thing was the room service people rushing to clean the room on the last day, but besides that it was excellent. I will go back again. A+++.” May 31, 2008 by
Eduardo from Miami, FL
“The hotel is very good, but, again, I was in better rooms.” May 1, 2008 by
Brenda from Olympia, WA
“Would definitely stay there again if we ever return to Miami.” Apr 28, 2008 by
Robb from Suwanee, GA
“Great hotel, would like to take my family here. However, the pool was closed part of the day for chlorine shocking. Workout room was nice but small. Nice hammocks to relax in.” Apr 24, 2008 by
Michael from Sachse, TX
“They placed us in a room that was right next to the elevator. The walls are too thin so we were able to hear the elevator and the guest next door to us. We were awaken by the guest next door at 4am in the morning with their screaming, shouting and loud music. We had to call for security. The room that we stayed in had no privacy.” Apr 20, 2008 by
Steve from Colleyville, TX
“Great location right on Miami Beach. Very well appointed rooms. Staff was friendly and helpful. The pool area could use a little makeover.” Apr 17, 2008 by
Dave from Williamstown, ON CA
“My wife was very impressed, I would recommend this to my friends. Found the drinks at the pool side bar expensive.” Apr 8, 2008 by
Erin from Greenwich, CT
“The room at the hotel was nice. It was clean and well appointed. The bed was comfortable. The common spaces and pool area were clean. There is nothing right around the hotel, so you have to have a car or take cabs. It's about a mile and a half walk to Ocean Drive. I would also not make the walk at night. The staff was not terribly friendly.” Apr 7, 2008 by
Shane from Havre De Grace, MD
“Front desk staff is rude and unorganized. Very expensive from drinks to parking. Extremely comfortable rooms.” Mar 13, 2008 by
Rebecca from Orlando, FL
“The valet and the bag people were very slow, not welcoming and not friendly. It was not a very helpful beginning. At night the people above us were loud, banging on the walls and floor. The front desk was called twice. The location was wonderful.” Mar 10, 2008 by
Stacey from Mustang, OK
“I would recommend this hotel to everyone they were the best, really spoiled us we did not want to come home.” Mar 7, 2008 by
Ginger from Colchester, VT
“The hotel was nice, the service was excellent, the food was good. I would recommend that they put coffee pots in the rooms and/or serve free coffee in the lobby. I've never heard of a "four-star" hotel without coffee!” Mar 5, 2008 by
Bruno A. from Ann Arbor, MI
“Hotel not a four star hotel. Outdated bathrooms, shower ran cold every day of our stay, our hotel room door rattled loudly every time another guest closed their door, flashing lights from smoke detector and from back of TV, housekeeper argued with me about the benefits of using Tilex shower cleaner on the drinking glasses in the room (not wonder our throats were sore), painfully slow elevator, meat found in veggie dish and long hair in our food delivered by room service. I'd never stay there again.” Mar 3, 2008 by
Peter from Toronto, ON CA
“Great hotel for the price especially in South Beach. The staff was all extremely friendly and helpful. The food and drinks at the hotel were extremely expensive, just as everything is in South Beach. The hotel was away from the craziness of the main strip but it was about a 20 walk or a $7 cab ride” Feb 28, 2008 by
Molly from Sunnyvale, CA
“It is not in South Beach as the name would suggest. The staff was slow and at times actually disrespectful- refusing to make change for my husband. Eventually I had to get a manager. The concierge gave us a terrible recommendation for a restaurant, perhaps she was new to the area. The rooms are tiny and the bathrooms are on par with a public restroom in a McDonalds. The remote control for the TV didn't work. The refrigerator they provided us didn't work. The lobby is laid out in a confusing and illogical manner, making it difficult to find anything. Overall... terrible.” Feb 25, 2008 by
Carina from Paarl South Africa
“We were really disappointed upon arriving at the Palms, I do not believe that this is a four star hotel, when we arrived we had to wait until 4pm before we could get our room! The staff were not very friendly and the experience was a bit disappointing overall. We stayed for 3 nights and wish we had rather stayed somewhere else. The hotel is beautiful and has nice decor, but the rooms feels more like a motel and not like a 4 star hotel. I will not be returning to the Palms although we were really looking forward to going there.” Feb 15, 2008 by
Beth from Indian Trail, NC
“On top of the steep price of this hotel, we were charged "daily hotel fees" for "free" internet, newspapers and use of the pool. Ridiculous for a 4-star hotel. Also not within comfortable walking distance of shopping or eating.” Feb 15, 2008 by
David from New York, NY
“Good service all around, A+. They are striving for improvement and I commend that. The rooms, though with okay decor, are really upgraded motel rooms. The bathrooms tired and tiny and Motel 6 quality. Elevators creaky and slow. Windows don't open-horrible not to get fresh air in Miami. Good choice for those with limited funds that want to be on the beach.” Feb 4, 2008 by
Uri from Givat Shmuel, AE
“The only thing that spoiled my stay was me being charged around 12$ as a "hotel fee", for services I didn't get and didn't want to get.” Jan 29, 2008 by
Christoph from Carbondale, IL
“Very nice hotel with high standard.” Jan 25, 2008 by
David from Redlands, CA
“This South Beach convenient hotel was recently remodeled, and provides the guest with a great value at the 3 Star level. A 4 Star level hotel should have kinder, more attentive staff; a Jacuzzi or spa; and more access to simple things such as ice machines -- without having to go down 2 floors and walk down a long hallway trying to find the closest ice machine.” Jan 20, 2008 by
David from Dallas, TX
“This was a 3 star hotel that was presented as a 4 star. Additional parking fees and hotel fees appeared on the bill. My thermostat was broken and it was freezing in my room. They sent someone to look at it, but that person never came back to fix it. They also refused to move me to another room. The recent renovation job was mediocre at best.” Jan 18, 2008 by
Seth L. from Livingston, NJ
“Overall it was a good stay. But the walk to South Beach was a bit far. The pool was very crowded! Lots of smokers too.” Jan 17, 2008 by
Beth from Prior Lake, MN
“Give the worst rooms in a location that is hard and unpleasant to get to (only 1 elevator goes to the 2nd floor and the stairway option is dirty and smells funny). Bar of used soap left in our shower.”
