- Decor, staff helpfulness, close distance to Port Everglades and restaurants.
- Elevators not enough to accommodate everyone on check-out with their luggage.
“One of the nicer hotels in the area, it is located in. Very clean, stores and eating areas within 5 minute walk, or less. Rooms were average, but very clean. Beds very comfortable. Fruit, water, tea,and coffee always offered in hotel lobby, staff very helpful. Hotel does have a restaurant which has a wonderful breakfast buffet offered. The only downside is that there are not enough elevators, which makes it almost impossible to catch an elevator at checkout time. I would definitely stay again and will recommend it to others. If you are staying overnight before or after a cruise, this is the place to go!”

- The staff was friendly & helpful. My room was clean, and contained everything I needed. The bed was also very comfortable and had nice linens.
- The alarm clock needs replacing. It worked, but the plastic facing was close to dropping off.
“Extremely clean, well maintained. Staff was friendly, and the food served during the seminars I attended was very good. I also appreciated a computer and printer in the lobby dedicated to printing boarding passes. Very convenient!”

- I was very disappointed.
- The hotel did not meet the expectations of a 4 star hotel.
“This hotel should not be rated a 4-star hotel. The room was "okay" at best. We were greeted by a cigarette smoke scent in the air and were charged $15 just to park the car. A hotel should not receive a 4 -star rating simply because it charges for parking.”

- Air conditioner hardly worked. Coffee maker was old and barely let the water thru. No newspaper delivery in front of room. No real coffee cups.
“Simply put: This is not worth 4 stars. At the most 3 stars! Internet connection had to be purchased separately and was very poor. In a 4 star hotel you expect the air conditioner to work full blast and not leave you with a feeling of being suffocated. Coffee maker was old and worked poorly and there were no real cups, just plastic.”

- The staff was very attentive.
- The hotel web site is misleading. It shows modern furnishings and our hotel, while nice, was far from that.
“This hotel provides good customer service which is a sticky issue with me. I'm much more interested in the service which I reward for than a bunch of show and fluff. Everyone on staff was more than helpful and showed a desire to go the extra if asked for anything. The hotel has a 3pm check in which we were somewhat put off by but the staff was very accommodating and we ended up in our room around 1:30. Until that time we were allowed to lounge around a well-maintained pool and hot tub and made to feel like we had been at the hotel for weeks. The rooms and facilities, while clean and very nice, are dated and lacking the edge I was expecting. I would stay there again if ever in the area but I can't say that I would offer a top 4-star rating to this hotel. Close but no trophy.”

- Bathroom had mold, terrible check in, poorly trained staff.
“Also, when my fiance chose to self park the valet asked me what was wrong with our car and why we didn't let him park it for us. We saved $5 self parking and we didn't want someone in our car. It's that simple. I could discuss the mold in the bathroom, the repeated knocks on our door from housekeeping (while we had the do not disturb sign on). Not a 4 star hotel by any stretch of the imagination.”

- Hot tub was cold. Pool area was not attended. Towels left and not cleaned up.
“When checking into the hotel, we were told there were no more king size beds left, we were offered an accessible room. When I asked what the difference was in the rooms I was told that there were handles in the bathtub. We agreed to take it. When we got into the room after unpacking without looking at the bathroom we found out that there was no counter space at all in the bathroom. We had no place to put our personal items. when I called to complained I was told by a supervisor that she was sorry and was told that she would find out who rented the room to us and would talk to the employee that rented the room to us, but never offered to give us something to put our things on. They wanted to move us to a room with 2 full beds. We didn't have the time to do this.”

- Nice big room on a par with hotel rooms in Las Vegas at Paris, Aladdin.
- Dirty, wet hand towel and wash cloth on the bathtub, hidden by the shower curtain & a hand towel with make-up on it hanging by the sink.
“This hotel was close to the airport and the sea port. I thought the room was nice for an overnight stay before going on a cruise next day. I didn't notice the dirty towels until later in the evening when I started to take a shower. I had already noticed the bathroom floor under the sink could have been cleaner. The hotel was close to Einstein bagels, although I saw a French bakery on the corner of the hotel building as the taxi took us to the port the next day.”

- I liked the general atmosphere. The employees were also generally pleasant and helpful.
- I did not like the daily charge for parking. Housekeeping and room service were just okay issues with both.
“During my stay the fire alarm went off; the hotel had to be evacuated; and the power was off for several hours. My 65 year old mother was in the room alone and was somewhat distraught. She locked herself out of the room during the mayhem. One of the hotel staff let her back in her room.”

- The staff was wonderful.
- The on site dining wasn't all that great.
“We were allowed to upgrade our room to a suite at check in. It was wonderful. The pool was very nice, but a little noisy from the highway traffic. Our upgraded room gave us access to the club level which was worth the extra money by itself. The dining on site wasn't exceptional, but was still very good. But the staff is what sets this place apart. They were phenomenal. Will stay again next time we're in the area.”

- The location was great for the cruise port. The staff was exceptional.
- We had just stayed at the Peabody in Orlando, a 4 star, and this was not as nice.

- My plane was late and I checked in at 01:30 a.m. The Front Desk Clerk was gracious with his permission to check out at 2 p.m.
- The city water has a horrible color. The taste is worse. The hotel has no control over this.

- Location was great for cruisers. Bed very comfortable. Staff was friendly.

“Clean, convenient and well maintained. If location is important this is a good place across the street from cruise ship entry. Not a place for a romantic get away. I'd stay there again but we like Hyatt pier 66 much better.”

- Front desk and room service was very cooperative with requests.
- I had to pay for internet! It should be free everywhere.
“The presentation of the hotel based on the entrance lobby, was not consistent with the hallway headed to my room and the room itself. The hotel needs freshening up. I found the selections on the many to be very good and quality was better than average for room service. The room and hotel in general, was clean and quiet, but didn't seem to have all the amenities I would expect in a four star. I think the actual level sits somewhere in the middle between 3 and 4.”

- Very clean and location was great.
- When checking in, the hotel staff assumed we would have a problem with the parking charge since we went through you. Almost snotty about it.

- Close to downtown, close to airport.
- View of industrial port of Ft Lauderdale and large oil storage tanks.
“The staff was very nice and friendly. The room was very quite with only the sound of air whooshing from the air conditioner. The traffic noise was very faint and unobtrusive. We had a great sleep.”

- Excellent location for pre or post cruise stay. Restaurants and stores all within walking distance.
- Parking fee if you have a car.
“Excellent location, restaurants, drugstores, grocery and liquor stores all within walking distance. Budget car rental right across the street in quay shopping plaza with free shuttle to the cruise port. Clean hotel, very comfortable beds.”

- The entire staff was consistently excellent and the room was very clean.
- Bed was on the hard side.
“Great hotel, friendly staff, relaxing pool area and small but nice workout room with pool view. The front desk staff very helpful with excursions and dining recommendations. Had a yummy French bakery and seafood restaurants within walking distance, would stay here again!”

- Location is great in terms of restaurants, lounges, and downtown.
- Housekeeping staff wanted to clean room at the most unusual hours.
“Hotel is pretty nice. Certainly a 3 star, and even a bonafide 3 1/2 star, but I'm not so sure about it being a 4 star. The common areas of the hotel are truly 4 star and nice; the rooms are where the question mark comes in as they are more like a Hampton Inn with a mini-bar.”
