“We checked in and requested 2 doubles for 4 as we were staying here pre-cruise with our 2 boys. We were accommodated and given a room with a view of the marina opposite the ocean, which was nice. The hotel was very nice and could very well be rated a 3 star. I have stayed in 3 stars that were not nearly as nice. We had a great trip!” Jan 30, 2008 by
Cori from Valley Cottage, NY
“Beautiful hotel with great beach and pool area, large selection of restaurants. Dining, parking, and renting beach chairs was expensive.” Jan 28, 2008 by
Paul from Edmonton, AB CA
“I was very impressed and would stay there again in a Heartbeat. I wish we had a few days to enjoy the property.” Jan 22, 2008 by
Fitz from Plantation, FL
“I loved just about everything, the pool, the view, the balcony and a great bathroom. The room was very romantic and I would recommend the Westin Diplomat Resort And Spa to anyone. Keep in mind that valets is $22.” Jan 8, 2008 by
Andy from West Palm Beach, FL
“Awesome hotel. One of the best I've stayed at.” Dec 31, 2007 by
Nicole A. from Montreal, QC CA
“The best there is!” Dec 29, 2007 by
Kester from New York, NY
“Excellent hotel located on beautiful Hollywood beach. Great views and well furnished hotel room. Quality of service and food in cafe restaurant could be significantly improved. It would be nice if beach walkway extended from Hollywood all the way to hotel and if outside restaurants were more conveniently (i.e., more closely) located. Certain front desk hotel staff isn't up to par for a major resort. Wonderful golf course. Challenging and interesting layout. Very helpful and friendly golf staff. Heads up to troon for managing this location so well.” Dec 17, 2007 by
Darlene from Statesboro, GA
“Was everything that I would expect from a resort? Clean, great beach and pool area, good restaurants and very friendly and helpful staff. Location was great.” Dec 6, 2007 by
Neil from Washington, DC
“Everything was extra or overpriced -- even things that are free at other hotels. Parking ($18 a day), "toll-free" phone calls ($2.50), a seat by the pool, internet access ($13 a day), internet cafe ($39 per hour), bowl of oatmeal ($10), dinner entrees ($30 to $50), bottles of water in the room ($7 each). The food in the restaurants was not bad, but not good enough to justify the prices. There is nothing in the way of nearby restaurants and stores that you can walk to. Impressive place, in a sort of over-the-top Vegas style (3-story glass-roofed lobby full of plastic palm trees; swimming pool on a bridge above another swimming pool, etc.). One bright spot is that guests have free access to the Spa pool, saunas, hot tubs, steam rooms, and excellent fitness center. Spa services are pricey but professional. Nice room, great bed (we like firm), big bathroom with a great tub and a separate glassed-in shower, etc.” Dec 1, 2007 by
Tim from Rockledge, FL
“This resort offers a beautiful, convenient location, accompanied by top notch amenities and a superb staff.” Nov 28, 2007 by
Laura from Chester Springs, PA
“We really enjoyed the hotel. The check-in staff member was not particularly helpful at finding us two rooms near each other. It would have helped if he had told us that king beds had a pull-out sofa (which was great and we would have requested both King rooms). The pools were very nice. Ridiculous charge for internet.” Nov 28, 2007 by
Sami from Lindenhurst, NY
“Overall a decent 4 start hotel where I like to go back and stay. Spa services massage was good but facial was whatever. Some of the employees have attitude problem and there are few who are very nice polite and professional. Cafe, Bar and Azizia are great restaurants but Nikki Marina food was bald and Service not good.” Nov 26, 2007 by
Deb from Tampa, FL
“Wonderful experience! Everyone is very friendly and helpful. This resort is one of the best on Miami Beach. I will definitely come again and recommend it to everyone I know.” Nov 5, 2007 by
Scotlan from Lauderhill, FL
“A great room for its value because the pool/bar and beach are fantastic! And you get those features at any rate. Plus if youre into buildings this one is beautiful to look at!” Nov 2, 2007 by
Randolph from Orlando, FL
“Excellent hotel.” Oct 25, 2007 by
Ralph from Texarkana, TX
“Very nice resort, I will try to come back to this h hotel with my family. The rooms are clean, lobby is clean and very attractive, cozy to just hang out or have a casual conversation. The pool was nice and the beach clean.” Oct 25, 2007 by
Becky from Winter Garden, FL
“Love this hotel! Awesome pool and right on the beach. Comfy beds, spacious bathrooms.” Oct 25, 2007 by
Fabio from Miramar, FL
“The hotel is outstanding. The accommodations and the service are 5 stars. I will definitely come back to it and this time I will also bring my daughter. It was the perfect romantic getaway combining with the spa and the duet massage.” Oct 12, 2007 by
Roger from Red Hook, NY
“The access to the diplomat country club with its facilities (including golf) and a real luxury country club feel made it a huge plus to our stay because that's where we spent most of our days!” Oct 11, 2007 by
Ejake from Winter Park, FL
“This is truly the gem of south Florida, the hotel is one of the largest (over 1,000 rooms) and it runs like a charm. The pool overlooking the ocean gives this hotel a romantic and intimate feel, particularly at dawn. If you don't have transportation you are pretty much stuck within the hotel restaurants (not much away from the premises), if you like the south beach night scene there is Nikko, right at the diplomat hotel catering to the late night crowd with great music drinks and the intercostals right at your feet. Overall the hotel provides a true resort experience.” Sep 6, 2007 by
Terry J. from Stuart, FL
“They had a major convention with several thousand twenty to thirty year olds that were single on a major holiday weekend. Every common area, bar area, CABA area and spa area of the resort was over crowded. This was not your typical holiday weekend crowd at the diplomat resort and spa.” Aug 31, 2007 by
Darin from Winter Garden, FL
“This hotel room was an incredible value for the price paid. The facilities, staff and service were more than accommodating. The check-in, lobby, private dining, and pool bar staff were good, but the Cafe staff seemed indifferent. The food was good, but seemed a little pricey for the quality. A length of stay parking option or pass would have been more convenient than paying for parking each time we left the garage.” Aug 28, 2007 by
Jay from Amarillo, TX
“Great hotel, customer service, amenities, comfort and style were all first class. View of the ocean from all the pool areas was great. Really good bedding, high thread count sheets. I will stay there again when I'm in the area.” Aug 27, 2007 by
Minette from Dorchester, MA
“Modern, sleek, lovely views, pool, smoke free environment all are a must for me when I travel.” Aug 3, 2007 by
Amos from Hollywood, FL
“Amazing Structure, well design, friendly staff, and beautiful location for those who want to enjoy Miami, but away from the Miami-Beach madness, yet with a lot of attractions around. Close enough to Fort Lauderdale and the main Shopping Malls. Well kept and quiet Beach in perfect harmony with beautiful pools. Good for everybody!” Jul 30, 2007 by
Tracy from Satellite Beach, FL
“The Diplomat has a hotel lobby and pool area that is ultra cool and worth checking out even if you don't stay at the hotel.” Jul 28, 2007 by
Erica N. from Springdale, MD
“Overall, we were quite pleased at the Westin and would certainly visit again. The public spaces are wonderful, and for a convention-type hotel, we were very comfortable. The fitness area was cleaned, well-equipped, and of course, had a great view. The "Heavenly Bed" was just that--heavenly. Even the bathroom had a clean, serene; spa quality. We really didn't have that much contact with staff, outside of check-in, one question asked at the fitness center and one question asked at the concierge desk, which is why I chose five. It's the closest to "neutral" I could select. What little contact we had was neither good nor bad.” Jul 25, 2007 by
Laurie from Gainesville, FL
“Our room was next to the "mechanical room" and our view was of the air conditioners for what looked like the entire hotel (on the roof level with our room). It was very loud in the room. We also did not have a remote for the TV. Sometimes I wonder if they "sell" these rooms for the low price and they are held and booked differently.” Jul 23, 2007 by
Peyton from Allen, TX
“We were happy from the time we walked in until we left. We were first given a tiny room with a king bed. When I requested a bigger room for my family of four, it was given with no problem and they threw in the ocean view. Concierge always had helpful tips, and happy staff always greeted us in the lobby and talked to my kids too. We weren't very to Fort Lauderdale but come to find out, Hollywood has its own, better boardwalk. Just wish we'd have stayed longer. We spent one day on the beach with hotel chairs and umbrella and it was perfect. We chilled and the kids were all over the beach having a blast.” Jul 20, 2007 by
Kathy from Goodlettsville, TN
“We found the Westin to be beautiful. We loved the bathroom and the view was great. We enjoyed going out to the pool early in the morning. The only draw back was very limited places to eat off property. We did have a rental van so we were able to drive to find other places to eat. We really enjoyed our stay.” Jul 9, 2007 by
Graham from Cambridge, ON CA
“Impressive entrance & lobby area. Large, elegant room with great view of ocean, beach and pool area. Large bathroom with bath and separate shower and toilet enclosures. No fridge in room. Prices for internet not listed in room; wired and wireless available, with different cost speed options for both. Excellent but expensive breakfast in the Cafe.” Jul 6, 2007 by
Bill from Newtown, PA
“The best part is they honored my request of an ocean view room. Furthermore, we had a choice of 3 different floors to choose from. We took the 17th floor and what a view! No balcony, but who cares. Opened up the window at night to hear the sounds of the surf. Room was nice and decent size, love seat and plenty of space near the window. The bathroom setup was a little unique. The shower, tub, toilet and sink all had their own separate areas. We sacrificed a king to get the ocean view, but sleeping in the double was not a problem, very comfortable. Service was great from the get-go. Help is everywhere in the lobby area. The concierge was informative. Like the other reviewer said, he remembered who we were the next day. My first thought walking in was that we were in Disney World. When looking out the big windows toward the ocean, one might get the impression of being on a cruise ship. At the Westin, there is also a convention center next door and a shopping area across the street with several restaurants and the parking garage. This is all part of the Westin complex. They did a nice job of blending the parking garage into the buildings. Their very efficient fitness center faces out toward the ocean. We walked across the street to Nikki's for dinner, a trendy spot to eat along the intercostals waterway. Great food, setting and service. Certain nights they turn into a club and stay open till 4am. The girls working the bar were a blast! We took a ride over to their sister resort, the Diplomat Golf Resort & Spa, right across the bridge. Very upscale and much quieter than the Westin. It's good to know that Westin guests can use the facilities at the Golf Resort.” Jul 5, 2007 by
Bruno from San Diego, CA
“I enjoyed the experience there; and I will recommend it to others. It would have been nice to have access to good shopping within walking distance.” Jul 2, 2007 by
Tim from Valdosta, GA
“Overall very nice, would stay there again.” Jun 27, 2007 by
John from Pembroke Pines, FL
“The hotel is beautiful, yet if you want a cup of coffee at 8 pm. no restaurants in the hotel offer a cup of coffee at that time. All meals were unbelievably expensive, the breakfast buffet was over for bacon and eggs. A drink at the pool was also higher, that's ridiculous. Some of the staff members seemed to be aggravated and did not have a friendly attitude, yet the front desk was extremely polite.” Jun 20, 2007 by
Claire from Mandeville, LA
“I was very scared when I purchased it but am so happy!” Jun 19, 2007 by
Ana from Miramar, FL
“Hotel is beautiful, but if you travel with kids, please be sure to bring water and snacks or you will be in trouble.” Jun 17, 2007 by
Julie from Orlando, FL

“Fantastic, loved every minute of it. Very romantic bathtubs and I loved having star bucks coffee with real cream in my room.” Jun 16, 2007 by
Julie from Orlando, FL
“This hotel was amazing, the views in every room spectacular, the interior and exterior design was breathe taking. The room was great, amazing bed, huge tub, and separate shower. Everything was top of the line. The pools were one of a kind, the beach was amazing.” Jun 14, 2007 by
David from Tampa, FL
“One of the nicest hotels in Florida. Way above our expectations.” Jun 14, 2007 by
Betty from Hicksville, NY
“I would recommend this hotel to anyone for a luxurious stay.” Jun 14, 2007 by

“The Diplomat is a beautiful, well maintained, modern, friendly facility.” Jun 7, 2007 by
Angelo from Las Vegas, NV
“The staff was great. The rooms were spacious and had great views of the ocean and intercostals waterway. The pool area was very relaxing with direct access to the beach and the food at the poolside restaurant was delicious. No complaints at all. This was our second time staying there.” May 28, 2007 by
Susan from Naples, FL
“This hotel and the location were absolutely beautiful. The staff definitely makes your stay worthwhile. They were welcoming, friendly, and very helpful. The spa is the icing on the cake! They provided a relaxing, warm, friendly atmosphere. Much nicer then most of the "stuffy" spas.” May 2, 2007 by
Nate from Bloomington, MN
“We stayed twice during our recent visit to the ft Lauderdale area. We got upgraded rooms on both visits. Hotel areas & rooms were very, very nice & extremely clean. The hotel personnel were very polite & helpful (except for one older & somewhat obnoxious guy in the infinity pool area). Lower level pool area was also very, very nice, but the pool area music was usually too loud. Parking was a bit of a hassle because if you self-parked, it costs $15/day & you had to drive up four levels, across to another ramp & then back down four levels every time you parked your car. On a minor note, they were remodeling one of the restaurants near the pool area, which created some construction noise & disruption.” Apr 10, 2007 by
Kathy from Columbus, OH
“Wonderful pools, view of the ocean, great room, and great staff.” Apr 2, 2007 by
Carol from York, SC
“A great family & senior place with excellent food although a bit pricy & parking was high especially if you came in multiple cars.” Mar 30, 2007 by
A-Man from Southampton, MA
“Fantastic experience. Would do it again in a heartbeat. One of the best overall experiences I¿ve had. The food and room service was extremely expensive, but there are plenty of other reasonable choices locally.” 2 of 2 people found this review helpful.Mar 26, 2007 by

“Beautiful hotel with a wonderful pool, nice weight room, and easy access to the beach. Staff was cordial, but not necessarily friendly. You have to tip for everything. At the price they charge, I was shocked that there was not free internet access.” 2 of 2 people found this review helpful.Hotel Representatives:
