“The location was great, room was cute unique but more importantly CLEAN. Cozy bed (minus the pillows). Great TV and stereo, it felt like home. Nice wine and snack bar, good variety of in room gadgets (toothbrush kit, other personal items). Staff was fairly friendly. The only thing I REALLY didn't like was the high noise factor. You could hear everything in the halls, and in some of the other rooms. They should have done more sound proofing. Pillow cases were kind of rough, and shower was way too small and I'm a fairly slim individual (size 2-4), so who knows how someone larger in size could manage using it!” Mar 12, 2008 by
Elizabeth from Winthrop, MA
“My husband and I got a great price at this South Beach hotel. It was at a terrific location only minutes from the beach and Ocean Drive. The staff was friendly and helpful. It was an added bonus to have free drinks each night during happy hour and free transportation from the hotel. This hotel was a fun place to stay with my husband, but may not be suitable for children.” Feb 14, 2008 by
Richard from Fort Plain, NY
“We checked out and did not spend the night. Our room was small - with one small bed - no water pressure in shower. Toilet was broken. Music from lobby - which is also their bar, shook our room on the third floor. Worst hotel experience in 20 years of traveling.” Jan 16, 2008 by
Cemalettin from Dublin, OH
“I definitely do not recommend this hotel to anyone. If you are with your family, especially with your children, this hotel would be your nightmare. I travel frequently and so far I have stayed in so so many hotels around the US and I totally feel that this hotel was the 2nd worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Please look for somewhere else!” Dec 20, 2007 by
Jane from Glenside, PA
“The sheets were too small for the bed the edges did not tuck in and I was unable to get ones that did, plus there was no mattress protector. The hotel bar played music too loudly despite that there were only few in the bar and the main business is obviously the hotel. Despite all this, the staff was very nice and helpful and the room was clean.” Nov 29, 2007 by
Jayson from Los Angeles, CA
“At first glance, the energy of the hotel seemed fun. Loud music played in the lobby, people danced around. This stuff was kind of fun at 6 p.m., but not at midnight. Also worth noting is that the first rooms I was given was sweltering hot, with no working air conditioning. I was changed to another room, and though the room was cooler, it was more about room location, as the air did not work in there either. Also, the shower in the bathroom had such a small glass wall at the entrance, that the shower sprayed water all over the bathroom floor as much as it did in the actual shower. I did not enjoy my stay here.” Nov 6, 2007 by

“I'm 21 and I like to party but this was the stupidest hotel ever! Try sleeping in a club. They never found my reservation. You have to yell over the music in order to talk to the staff. If youre on the 1st floor forget about sleeping. The music didnt stop till 5am even though no one was in the lobby. The rooms are cute but the a/c was pouring out water every time it shut off. This is not a family hotel! If you must stay here try the 3rd floor. Just because you have a flat screen in the room doesnt make it 3 stars. Run away quickly!” Oct 22, 2007 by

“The Whitelaw was totally kitschy and charming; I loved the scale and decor. The bar was great at night and in the morning for breakfast. Couldn't have been in a more upscale shopping district.” Jul 22, 2007 by
Charles D. from Houston, TX
“If you are a single or couple ready to enjoy South Beach and its night life, this could be a good spot for you. It's a block from the beach and all the action on Ocean Blvd. The mini bar is well stocked and the scene at the hotel bar can be good. People are coming and going at all hours so if you are a family or business traveler, keep this in mind.” Jul 11, 2007 by

“Where do I begin? How about walking into the hotel lobby and the ceiling practically caving in from water that was leaking onto the bar area. I should've cut my losses then. The room was fairly clean but the hallway was not as there was much renovation going on. There was no shower door in the bathroom (wonder why the ceiling was falling in) and the towels had long black hair on them that I did not realize until getting out of the door less shower and drying off only to have someone else's long black hair hanging off of me. The radio in the pink (trying to be trendy but not) bedroom did not work and the toilet in the bathroom ran all night long. This place was closer to a hostel than anything else. The only good thing was the free drinks from 7-8. At a sister boutique hotel because our bar was destroyed from the water gushing from the ceiling. You could not pay me 115 bucks to stay here again.” Jun 15, 2007 by

“This hotel is a very unique boutique hotel in the heart of South Beach. It is convenient to everything.” May 27, 2007 by

“Good location noisy / staff are average in support/friendliness.” Apr 21, 2007 by

“Just because you put a 40 inch flat screen TV and a cod/ ipod stereo in a dump does not make it a 3 star hotel! There is a reason it is by far the cheapest 3 star hotel in the area. It is a one star hotel but with a nice TV so you can bump it to 2 stars, 2 and 1/2 stars tops! No way is it 3 stars! You can't even sleep a wink as they blast snoop dog until 5:15am every night even though the bar was totally empty I asked if they could at least turn it down a bit at 4:30 am since check out was at 11 and they wouldn't even turn it down! I looked outside the window and saw the bum sleeping and was jealous because he looked like he had a quitter, more comfortable spot. I had to be up at 10:30 am, not too early, but ended up with no sleep at all. Not only that the room smelt like a combination of vomit and poops. Not very romantic. It is in a great location and if you are 2 19 to 22 year old guys looking to party all nigh and crash for a few hours than its ok, but it¿s not good at all if you need to sleep at all, have a girl with you because the room smells. It is a great location though which is why they get away with renting out a dump, but come on don't call it 3 stars! ” Mar 16, 2007 by

“Wow. What a horrible place to stay. This is coming from a 20 year old male who stayed here during spring break. Staff. Extremely unfriendly and hard to communicate with. Don't even try talking to room service unless you speak Spanish. Don't even try to sleep at night without having ear plugs or being passed out. This is a party hotel and that is all it is good for. Music blasting until 6 am in the morning that is louder than you could believe. Sink leaks all over floor. No shower curtain so you have a pool of water on the bathroom floor every time you take a shower. Lack of towels. No trashcan. Free breakfast? You get bread and juice. Horrible. If you are young the staff will show you no respect. Girls gone wild uncensored playing on screen in hotel lobby on certain nights. The chesterfield is right across the street and is the same price if not cheaper and the rooms are extremely larger and much nicer. The music at night was probably the worst thing about the stay. Unless you hate sleep and love going to the bathroom while your feet sit in a puddle of water avoid this place completely.” Mar 13, 2006 by

“ White law was dirty, has an awful crowd and the hotel has no control over the patrons. I felt like I was staying in a dorm room. If you want any prayer of sleep, do not stay here. Hallways were loud and obnoxious until 6:30am and the front desk would not answer the phones, nor tell the obnoxious guests to keep it down. The local ghetto runs the show here. I would highly recommend to keep looking. It's worth spending the extra $ for a good nights sleep, a room that does not have an ant problem and where you feel safe coming home at night.” Oct 12, 2005 by
Krystal from Milford, CT
“This hotel is amazing!!! The room was really nice and beds were soo comfortable. At night The Whitelaw was the place to be. Lots of people in the lobby and great music. You couldn't hear any of the loudness from your room though, which was nice because there was one night I stayed in and wasn't disturbed at all. The staff was very helpful. When it was time for us to leave the man at the front desk started our checkout for us while we finished getting everything together. When we were all set and ready to go he waved down a cab and helped us with our luggage. We enjoyed our stay at The Whitelaw and would totally stay there again!!! = )” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Feb 21, 2005 by

“After a week at the ultra chic and sexy Whitelaw, in South Beach, three of my best friends and I can't wait to go back. All of the services the Whitelaw had to offer made this trip memorable. Our favorite part was the helpful concierge who got us into all the best clubs and bars around. It was the perfect get-a-way! For any hipster who wants to be treated like a celebrity there is no better place then the Whitelaw. Just remember that life is a party and nobody knows that better than the staff at the Whitelaw.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.
