• Staff made every effort to accommodate our cruise, with their shuttle service.

“We stayed one night and then went on a cruise the next morning. They allowed us to leave our rental car in their parking lot and picked us up from the port everglades area at 10 pm even though we were not staying there that evening. They went over and beyond the call of duty (service). We would gladly recommend their hotel to anyone.”

• I really enjoyed my stay at the Amerisuites and would certainly recommend it. The breakfast buffet was fantastic.
• I have no negative comments.

• Nice complimentary buffet spread available for breakfast
• Everything was dark. The lighting was poor from lobby to room.

“For a one night pre-cruise stay, and for the price I got this facility was adequate and meet my needs.I would stay here again for an over-nighter, but would not plan a vacation here.Unfortunatley, I didn't get a chance to use the pool.Our room overlooked a storage facility, so scenery wasn't a plus. Add that to the "dark" decor, I would say the Fort Luaderdale Amerisuites deserves the 2* rating.”

• The work area was very nice and the internet connection was very good.
• My room was right next to the door to the pool and the staircase and ice machine, it was VERY VERY noisy, there should not be a room here.

“Very nice place to stay. Nicely equipped suite, great common spaces. Very nice location and high value for the area. I would recommend to others and would be likely to stay there again.”

“After a long day of flight delays and traveling, the hotel staff was not very helpful when we called asking for directions and when we arrived, the service was very cold. The room was a good size, it was close to the beach, and the breakfast was great.”

• quality of service, excellent
• no return shuttle, when checking in second time, two of three rooms not ready

• roomy, kitchenette is a plus, separate sitting area
• continential breakfast-not much selection in low carbohydrate,low fat area

• Shuttle service to Port Everglades was very disorganized. Hotel should develop system to keep first come first served more organized.

• It was in the area we wanted to be in.
• It was extremely dumpy compared to equivalent star ratings

“Besides the fact that it took over a half hour to check in at midnight, due to one guest checking in for a large party ahead of us and a slow front desk clerk, this hotel needed some major TLC. The bathtub had an ugly hole repair job, the toilet seat needed to be replaced, the faucet sprayed sideways. The furniture placement was awkward. They had moved the desk into the kitchen area just to accomodate internet wiring, so that area was very cramped and it felt weird. The tv was barely visible from the sofa, so we had to move the sofa to face it. The fridge also sat in the middle of the tiny kitchenette area, because it was too tall to fit under the counter, so that was very awkward. The lighting was too low, the bed was too small, wobbly and short -- we expected a queen or two fulls.Western, the kind where they buy up old hotels and convert them, aged and dumpy. Eve”

• The location was great! They had an amazing continental breakfast.
• The pillows or sheets (I'm not sure which) smelled a little musty.

“We enjoyed our stay at the AmeriSuites. The location was convenient to everything we wanted to see in Ft. Lauderdale. The suites were clean and very roomy; my only complaint was that the pillows/sheets smelled just a little musty. ”

• The room needed more of a kitchen, stove, fridge, microwave, dishes, cutlery, etc.

• the hotel bathroom grout around the tub could use some cleaning or re-application.

• They allowed us to check out at 1:30pm; Free Breakfast;
• When I called for extra towels at about 6pm, I was told that I would have to go downstairs to get them. No housekeeping apparently.

“This hotel has all that one would need for a long stay. The rooms are suites, so there is plenty of space. I love having refrigerator in my room. If I would have known ahead of time, I would have brought my own VHS tape. My room had a VCR at my disposition. Overall I would recommend.”

• A bit down at the heel

“Appears to be a refurbished suite hotel that is on its second round at a lower rate. There was no spa or Jacuzzi. The TV did not work very well, and the beds were saggy. The front desk staff were fairly helpful. The highlight of the trip was the van driver who dropped us off at our dinner location, and picked us up later.”

“Probably the best deal so far since I started using for hotels in Fort Lauderdale. Spacious room, modern construction, and convenient appliances.”

“The hotel was okay. I was disturbed by the ants in the kitchen area. I had to throw all of my food away. The bathtub was a little rusted, but all and all the stay was fine for the lenght of time I was there.”

“The heavy scent of air freshener probably masked what would otherwise have been a strong animal smell left in the room! Everywhere in this hotel, dogs - accompanied by their owners - roamed. Three-times the fire alarm went off within one hour and, on each occasion, a zoo full of animals trotted along corridors and down stairs. Breakfast was good. A fantastic choice in a buffet fit for a King, including cook-your-own waffles with fresh fruit and cream. Another nice touch was the free pick-up and return to the airport from the hotel, complete with friendly staff. With Hurricane Ivan on its way, a number of guests were hoping to send E-mails from the hotel's business center. Unfortunately it was closed at weekends, and the hotel's telephone charges were extortionate. But, except for some dodgy stains on the carpet, the room was clean, water hot and air conditioning (although noisy) functioning well and pillows lumpy.”
