• The Street Apeal and the pool were gorgeous.
• Priceline made a mistake and changed me for two people instead of one, the hotel fixed it right away.

“I stayed at the PGA National in May, 2009 in West Palm Beach. This hotel is fantastic. When my friends and family came to pick me up at the hotel, they were very impressed also. The pool, the workout structure, (Workout Classes Scheduled Daily), Tennis, Golf Lessions, and the gorgeous view of this hotel were wonderful. The staff was great. My room service was great. The maid service was great, the hotel manager was great. I would stay here again in a moment.”

“The hotel is in a great area, very nice golf courses, great lobby, bar and good staff. Our rooms were a bit dated and we found the linens and pillows to be of poor quality, to the extent we went and bought our own pillows at a local store.”

• It is just really nice. Makes work feel like vacation!
• TV's are too small.

“This is near resort quality. Rooms are spacious. Common areas, I-Bar are very nice. Staff is friendly and helpful. Pool is gorgeous! TV's are HD but pretty small screens, not more than 24" If you don't use valet parking it is a pretty good walk from parking areas.”

“Highly recommended for the individual wanting a resort type stay. The facility is very clean and comfortable and provides many amenities like fitness center pool, golf, instruction in areas like yoga and other exercise. Beware of resort charges. These costs, $18/day plus tax. Hence, upon check in they were an unpleasant surprise. After discussion and as I was not able to use the facilities due to business commitments, the hotel agreed to remove the charges.”

• Double beds are Full beds, not queen beds. Too small.

“I liked it except that they offered two double beds and they were two 'full' beds. One night two of us needed to sleep in the same bed. Too small.”

“Beautiful hotel with lovely grounds and very nice facilities. Nice large rooms with very comfortable bedding. Great location just off I-95 with lots of restaurants and shopping all around. Very close to beaches and parks of West Palm Beach.”

• The pool area was great for little kids.
• The staff at the spa was rude and condescending.

“Once renovations are complete it will be a 4 star resort hotel. The spa is pricey and staff was rude. Otherwise it was great. The pool servers were especially friendly, and pretty quick for poolside service. The lobby staff and valets were helpful and quick. The room was nice and clean, with the exception of the glasses which had been overlooked. We're returning in a month.”

“Upon check in I was told of the resort fee, storing of golf bags, coffee, phone calls, etc of which I declined all. I have my own cell phone, I don't drink coffee and I have no golf bags. I will decline this charge and if necessary have the attorney general look into this matter.”

“We stay in west palm every summer for this concert, for the last 6 years. This is the nicest place we have stayed. We make this a mini vacation and have stayed at the Ritz and the breakers. This hotel excided our expectations.”

“Our room smelled like smoke from the moment we walked in, not good for my husband's allergy. The hotel staff apologized and promptly changed our room which turned out to be okay. Drinks at bar overly priced. We expected more from a 4 star.”

• Excessive resort fee for facilities you probably won't use.

“Overall the hotel was a wonderful place to stay, if you are a golfer this location is a dream come true, as a non golfer you may feel slightly out of place, but should still be able to enjoy the other amenities and scenery provided. I would go again, but I would have to consider the extra resort fee before budgeting my next trip.”

“This hotel was recently remodeled. The rooms and bathrooms are very clean. The room furnishings, sheets, linen, etc are high end. The golf courses are exceptional in every way. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. There are numerous new restaurants on PGA Blvd I would stay here again.”

• Saturday was full of kids so we could not enjoy anything.

“The hotel and staff were excellent! Unfortunately for us it rained all 8 days and that put a big damper on our enjoyment. On the weekend the hotel filled up with families with young kids and we had to leave the pool area as they filled the hot tub with 13 5 years olds and my wife was hit in the head three times with a ball. Not a resort day for sure! The other disappointment was that we were never told until check-in that there is an $18/day plus tax resort fee added to our stay! It was bad enough that a regular drink costs $9.16 each! Due to the rain I decided to do a massage and all they had available was a 30 minute massage. It lasted 20 minutes and was a waste of time and cost me $90.”

• The decor of the rooms was a bit old fashion lacked character.

“The location and landscape was beautiful. The food / drinks were great in room and out. I was not pleased with the over all decor of the hotel. I thought that everything else was so nice. The decor did not hold up to the potential, it lacked character and was old fashion.”

• Nice upscale hotel in a beautiful location.
• The hotel charges 20 dollars for resort fee.

“The hotel is located about 20 minutes from Downtown. You'll definitely need a car if you plan on going to the beach. The hotel itself is very nice: nice rooms, a large swimming pool and beautiful golf courses. There are two things I don't like: first, they charge $20 for the resort fee, and second, the internet access is extremely slow. There are several restaurants about a mile from the hotel. I had Thai and Italian and they were good. Overall, I think it's a good value for the price I paid.”

• Snobby staff, pool was in front of the bar, noisy at night.

“This would be a great place to stay if you were going there to play golf. Otherwise, find somewhere else to stay. The staff was snobby when I entered and stayed that way throughout my stay. The pool was directly in front of the bar, so you could not relax without feeling like they were all looking at you. The insulation between rooms is nonexistent, the doors slammed loudly and the patrons were very loud late at night. It took 5 minutes for the TV to come up and you had to bypass their attempts to have you order movies before you finally got to regular television. I ate a business lunch outside and we were dive bombed by birds who would steal food off of your plate. The wait staff seemed oblivious to this. The walk from the parking lot to the entrance was very far. It would be convenient of we all could afford the valet parking they offered. I saw somewhere that they had beach shuttles but when I inquired they said that they did not offer that service.”

• Staff at health club seemed racist-- seemed very suspicious and somewhat condescending.

“Hotel is beautiful and lovely. Some of the staff at the health club seemed uncomfortable with minorities. Treated us like we did not belong there, like we were not welcome.”

• Overall appearance was very impressive.
• We were put in a lower level handicapped room that had a tall retaining wall right outside patio door.

“The hotel as we pulled up looked very impressive and we were quite excited. The young man who took us to the room was very pleasant and helpful. When we went to inquire about dinner, the spa pro shops we either could not understand the employees as they didn't speak very good English or they didn't seem to know much about the area. We also were surprised with a resort fee. We realized they were doing some remodeling but again the concierge about places nearby they said they didn't know the area. I left my watch behind and we called back within an hour and they said it had not been found and I knew I had dropped it on the floor and meant Togo back and pick it up.”

• The pools at spa were nice included in room fee while others closed.
• Overpriced, staff not helpful, should be closed during construction.

“The price of the room was outrageous. Staff was not helpful giving information of amenities. There was a charge for everything. $18 per day in addition to room fee for WIFI and other things and we didn't even have a computer. This hotel should have been closed during the construction; we chose the wrong time to stay there. I would not recommend it.”

• I was down for a concert and the location was close to the amphitheatre.
• The construction plus the main pool was closed.

• The spa experience was wonderful, and seven different spa pools.
• They are currently under renovation so the main pool was gone.

“The room we stayed at was large with a full couch and chairs along with the king sized bed. The bathroom was clean and well stocked. We had a handicap room which meant, although neither of us is handicapped, the shower room was massive. The upstairs lobby was huge and decorated in a safari type atmosphere. Since the main pool area was under construction for a new pool area we used the spa pools at no additional charge. The area was beautiful with entertainment during the day and a pool side bar and lunch counter. We did not make it over to the health club/tennis courts as they were in another building. The only drawback was the food which was not very good quality. The service was wonderful but the brunch was cold and sparse. Overall this is a wonderful place to stay as there are restaurants located not far from the resort.”

“Resort was under renovation (was not disclosed). All of the restaurants/lounges were under construction. Bear trap grill and bar had zero atmosphere, no one was there on a Saturday night. $16 resort fee did not even include newspaper delivered to room. When we went to pick it up from the lobby, they were flat out of newspapers. Room was nicely sized, but had 2 double beds, too small for our comfort... Could not leave car at front while checking in. Main pool closed, spa pools open instead. They did grant a late check out which was helpful for our itinerary. Bellhops were nice (they work for tips), rest of the staff not so nice. It was a 3 star experience not 4-star as advertised.”

• I was double charged for taxes.

“After staying at the Portofino in Orlando and the MGM Grand in Vegas, I was expecting to stay in the hotel not a cottage. The hotel only had one king with a daybed. This did not serve my purpose and instead had to stay at a privately owned cottage which did not meet my 4-star expectations.”

• kind of far from downtown west palm beach attractions.

“This hotel was super! It was very clean, had large rooms with a flat-screen TV and a balcony. It had a fridge with an honor bar and nice marble in the bathroom. It is surrounded by golf courses and is nice and quiet. The restaurants are expensive.”

“Overall, the hotel did not meet the criteria for a four-star facility in my opinion. Although, the property was under renovation, I think that they waited too late to do this. The staff was cold and regulatory so to speak, i.e., you will was dominate and there was to empathy for problems such as, no wash clothes the second day, a 17.00 daily fee for the use of certain facilities and amenities that we did not use and did not intend to use during our stay. Ultimately, we paid 17.00 per day for a newspaper that we did not read.”
