  • The location.
  • They have the nerve to charge for Parking and bar prices totally out of control.

“This is a nice Westin but it is not on the beach, yet they charge for parking, which is insane. This is a hotel off the interstate. The bar prices are inline with the Westin Diplomat at the beach, over priced. Nine dollars for a glass of twist off wine. Very insulting! I really felt very nickel and dimmed.”

  • The staff at this hotel went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant. They were wonderful!
  • The location was not ideal. No entertainment/restaurants within walking distance.

“The Westin was a very nice hotel. The pool is was a beautiful place to just relax and talk at night; the staff was very helpful and kind. They went out of their way to make our stay pleasant. The rooms were fine. I would have appreciated a continental breakfast or airport shuttles.”

  • The whole staff was very friendly.
  • The pool was closed at 5:00 for a private party.

“The Westin was a wonderful place to start our vacation. The front desk person could not have been more helpful. The room, done in grays and black with red velvet curtains was gorgeous. The bathroom, spacious and very pretty. The grounds were well maintained, and the pool area was beautiful, with a waterfall, right next to a lagoon. I can't wait to go back.”

  • Excellent access to I-95.
  • Fire alarm at 2:30 am and dingy hallways.

“This hotel is a Westin in name only. The hallways were dingy, the rooms were slightly above average, etc. Having stayed at other Westins, this one was a let-down.”

  • The lobby was clean and inviting. The staff people were friendly, courteous, and helpful. The bed was very comfortable.
  • The hotel room decor needs to be updated. They shouldn't charge hotel guests for parking.

  • The heavenly bed and shower.
  • They charge for internet. I know it is standard but it is ridiculous.

  • They upgraded us to a junior suite.
  • The hotel needed maintenance, hot tub and sauna did not work, not clean.

“This hotel needs some serious maintenance. It has the potential to be a 4 star hotel; however the exterior has been neglected and cannot be described as a resort like setting. Basically, this is a large hotel with a restaurant.”

  • Convenient and location was good. Staff was good room was very clean.
  • Paying for parking. That is a big issue of mine.

“The hotel and staff were very courteous. It was very clean in a location that was easy to find and close to a lot of attractions. I didn't like the idea of paying for parking. I think this is unfair because of the price of the hotel. Parking should be included to all guests that are staying at the hotel.”

  • Room renovation; banging, sawing at 9 am on Sun. morning - poor planning.

“This hotel was nice, but they put me on the 14th floor where they were renovating rooms, also on the 15th. There was constant hammering, sawing. Even on Sunday morning at 8 am. So much for the "peace" sign posted on my door.”

  • The main pool. The general location of the hotel and the gardens of the hotel.
  • The performance of the staff. They were arrogance (Breakfast). Not very helpful.

  • Centrally located to all areas we visited.
  • Hotel pool disappointing.. not enough chairs during peak times.. no cocktail waitress.

“The good: Centrally located. 10-20 minutes from beaches, downtown, casino and major shopping. Bed was exceptional, room was recently remodeled. Hotel staff friendly. The bad: Inconsistent maid service. The ugly: Not enough lounge chairs at pool. Chairs were heavy wood and difficult to move. No cocktail waitress at pool. $10 per day for parking”

  • The hotel was clean.
  • Did not like having to pay $10 a day for self-parking.

“This hotel definitely does not fit the 4 Star rating expected. The staff did not fit that of a 4 star hotel. The hotel was convenient to the airport and the expressway. I would recommend it if you need a clean place to stay without a lot of extras. No restaurants within walking distance.”

  • The rooms were very comfortable, over-sized, great bed.
  • The service was spotty; housekeeping left our room open for an entire day.

“The location was convenient, and the rooms are very luxurious. However, housekeeping was inconsistent. We had to repeatedly ask for refills of coffee, soap, shampoo, etc. Sometimes, we had turn-down service in the evenings, sometimes not. A mini-bar fridge was out in our hallway during our entire stay - a bit of a hazard and an eye-sore. Most significantly, our hotel room was left unlocked by the housekeeping staff for a whole day while we were out; Im surprised that nothing went missing. On the other hand, front desk staff was always obliging, and well-informed. So - with a bit of improvement in the housekeeping department, I would safely give this hotel 4 star.”

  • The buffet was not serviced on Friday nights.

“I really enjoyed my stay. The staff was friendly & helpful with helping locate & get to places I needed to go. The exercise room was well equipped & I used it everyday, during my stay. The Buffet was serviced Sunday - Thursday. It was disappointing that it was not available Friday night. I had invited a friend to join me & we had to go off site for dinner.”

  • Iron leaked water.

“My friends and I arrived at 2:30 needing to be at a beachfront hotel by 3:30 for another friend's wedding. Unfortunately, our room was not ready (check-in was at 3:00). The front desk staff quickly and cheerfully contacted housekeeping to request a rush cleaning. While we were waiting, the staff offered us the use of the fitness center shower/dressing room so we could get ready for the wedding. Before we had time to take them up on the offer, one room was ready and we were able to get dressed in the room. This hotel is absolutely beautiful. It's not in the beach area but we found it very convenient to get to the beach front hotel.”

  • The service by the staff was very good, anything I needed they responded quickly to.
  • The cleanliness of the bathroom left allot to be desired, it ruined their rating in my eyes.

“The hotel is well located, particularly for the business traveler flying in and out of ft. Lauderdale. The room is comfortable and nicely decorated, with an extremely comfortable bed. The bathroom, however, left allot to be desired. Particularly, when it came to cleanliness, there was mold on the walls, and some corrosion on the shower heads (it had 2). All in all, if I could rate it would be a 3 1/2 star experience.”

  • Location misrepresented. In the middle of nowhere.

“Fine for an overnight stay if you are en-route to somewhere else. We booked it only on the basis of price and it was reasonable for a Westin. In the middle of nowhere literally.   • They are trying to work on renovations.
  • No art work in the rooms. Didn't feel like a Westin. Very bare, restaurant looked outdated.

“I am a Starwood preferred guest and rave about their Westin locations in Detroit and other cities that I visit for work. I took a coworker with me to this location and was unimpressed with the facility. The heavenly bed and shower were of course, awesome but were overpowered by the industrial looking room and out of date internet connections.”

  • Nice hot tub and it was close to i95.
  • Fee for everything. Nothing complimentary, staff indifferent.

“Clean environment and nice hot tub. But even pool area was not managed. For example, Hampton inn constantly kept pool area clean of empty cups, trash, and would swab down seats after a rain; not so here, left unattended most of the day, cups, trash' (4 star??) No parking garage, but plenty of parking yet charged daily fee. Coffee pot in room, but no coffee packs. Complimentary coffee dispensed from only one container, which emptied very quickly & not refilled and the accompanying fruit was old and tasteless. Gratuity automatically charged for everything even when ordering take out. The charge for a bottle of beer was outrageously expensive. Restaurant menu was minimal and also outrageously expensive quality of food and not at all cooked to order ' everything overcooked. Rooms were small - cannot believe this place was rated 4-star. For the fees charged one can do much better.”

“I have never paid for parking at a suburban hotel, but I had to at the Westin. Otherwise, it was a fairly pleasant stay. Directly off the elevator. Noisy. People came in and out all night and it was hard to sleep. Every time the elevator opened to the floor, Bing Bing. For the same money the Sheraton Suites Cypress Creek is roomier, quieter and only 1/4 mile away. Only 3 1/2 stars but I would try to stay there instead.”

  • It was not 4 stars. It was 3 stars on every other site I looked at. The plumbing sounded like it was going to vibrate out of the wall.

“Disappointed. I was expecting 4 star service and quality and did not receive it. The gentlemen in the front of the building harassed my friend coming to pick me up. The plumbing kept me awake. My remote didn't work. Not 4 star caliber.”

  • Cleaning staff was noisy in the hallways and came into our room without knocking.

“Overall, a good experience. We really enjoyed the pool, although walking back through the lobby in our bathing suits was a little awkward. Incredibly comfortable bed and room. Very helpful concierge helped us to order take-out food, get directions and find things to do in the area. Very efficient and helpful front desk staff.”

  • Surcharge for amenities that are given free by other hotels.

“We stayed in room on the 7th floor during the weekend of July 21st. The staff was polite, but indifferent. There is a surcharge for parking, the internet, and just about everything else. The room was large and the bed was comfortable. However, there was a unpleasant chemical odor in the room and the air conditioning was inadequate making the room too warm for comfort, regardless of where you set the thermostat. If you like a hotel with an abundance of young partygoers who press all the buttons in the elevators and hang out in the halls until 3:00 am, this is the place for you. However, we recommend potential travelers to heed the negative comments sent in by others, about this hotel.”

  • The Hotel staff particularly the late night male desk receptionist customer service was exceptional.
  • I do not feel that this hotel should be consider a 4 or 5 star hotel due to it needing some major updates within each room.

“The hotel amenities are great as well as the bar areas. But the rooms are not at the 4-5 star rating level. Rooms require significant updates with plumbing in bathrooms, some bathroom fixtures (shower) and just overall updates. I am a Starwood Preferred Guest Gold member and was afforded the opportunity to have an upscale room to only find out that the rooms are not much different at all.”

  • Horrible air conditioning system in the room, awfully warm even at 65F! Rooms need to be updated, bathrooms too!

“For a 4 star hotel I was a little disappointed with the conditions the rooms were found. Air conditioning system was awfully warm, bathroom needs update and rooms were not as well appointed as a 4 star hotel should be. Staff at front desk was very friendly but we asked them to fix the air conditioning and when we got back to the room nothing had been fixed. So overall our stay could have been better.”

  • The bed was awesome to sleep, nice linen.
  • It was very plain, and it was very far from the beach.
