“We arrived, my wife and two children - ages 7 and 9 - after a very late flight only to be given a smoking room. We were told there were no other rooms available. It's past 11pm, my children are literally falling asleep on the couches as I fight with the night manager about the completely unacceptable room situation. My son has allergies and could be asthmatic.
Suddenly, he found a room to give.”

• The non smoking room and the new carpet in room. It was clean.
• The hotel driver who took us to cruise port. I'm glad I still a.m. alive.

“Hotel was good and served us well. However, the drivers of the vans need to learn how folks appreciate their lives and are on vacation to relax, not take a thrill ride and hope you survive.”

• Very comfy rooms, beautiful pool area.
• No food service between 10am and 6pm.

“This hotel was perfect for a pre-cruise stay. It is located close to the airport and the cruise port. Clean rooms, comfy beds, and very nice staff. If you are just staying for the night, no need for a car. If you are planning a longer stay, a car would be great as everything is a mile or so away. Happily, there is a car rental desk at the hotel. The Seminole Hard Rock is a bit over four miles away. (A walkalbe distance, as I did walk back to the hotel from there). Many restaurants and shops within a two-three mile radius. I would definitely stay there again. (With a car).”

• Beautiful grounds and pool, exceeded all my expectations.
• No continental breakfast available, only restaurant.

“Lovely pool area with many plants and a waterfall, you felt you were in a tropical getaway. Just because you are furnished a photo does not mean it is recent and the hotel will still look that way. This one was truly high class and worth every penny.”

• The bar was not open Friday afternoon.

“The limo service was great to get us around. The hotel had great computer services in their business center car rental services in the lobby. We were on our cruise and arrived real early in the morning they went out of their way to get us in a room as quickly as possible.”

• Beautiful rooms, great pool & hot tub.
• They closed the pool & hot tub for a wedding for hours.

“Excellent location, beautiful lobby, great spacious rooms, nice flat screen TV in the room. Hotel bar was good but super expensive. Pool & hot tub area is absolutely gorgeous. Very convenient to the highway & airport. Great shuttle service. No complaints except they closed the pool & hot tub for a wedding which was a huge bummer. We chose the hotel because of the pool and the whole afternoon was wasted because of it. They should have told us when we booked it. Otherwise, great hotel, location and overall experience. I would definitely stay here again.”

• The lobby and pool area were much prettier and well maintained than I would expect.
• Mosquitoes were bad outside around dining/pool area.

“I was pleasantly surprised at the ambiance and quality of this Holiday Inn. The room was very nice, with a very comfortable Tempurpedic mattress. The common area was neat and clean, nice workout facilities and the pool area were maintained beautifully. Very nice!”

“Nice updated rooms and lobby. Hotel staff was very helpful during check-in/check out process. Need to take a close look at massive short comings with staff in dining area and behind the bar.”

• Outstanding staff, clean and comfortable rooms.
• Only minor gripe: located within 5 miles of airport.

“Recently renovated. Very clean and comfortable. Outstanding staff (courteous, professional, and helpful - gave us a great recommendation for a seafood restaurant on the beach). "Airport" in name is somewhat of a misnomer, as the property is actually 3 exits (miles) south of the airport exit - so, if you need to turn in a rental car before your flight, plan for a 7 - 10 minute drive. Would definitely stay there again - highly recommended!”

• The hotel staff was extremely friendly. The TV had great channels and the fact that internet was free was very helpful. The price was reasonable.

The fact that internet was free was very helpful. The decor was nice and friendly. The small waterfall near pool added a little extra touch. In comparison to the other hotels, the price was reasonable. Location was great too. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others.”

• Lame exercise room - limited, old equipment.

“This hotel is convenient to I-95, the Fla. Turnpike, and Ft. Lauderdale. Looks like it was recently renovated. Rooms are clean, nice fixtures and decor. My room had a mini-fridge. Free wireless Internet included. Nice pool area with pretty landscaping, waterfall, hot tub, large patio. Nice lounge with pretty fish tank in the lobby. Convenient breakfast buffet. Good for families or business travelers. Exercise room was nothing special, uninspired. Overall good value for the money.”

• You need more non-smoking rooms.

“I really enjoyed my visit. While I normally stayed in Miami Beach during business trips there, the short drive to Hollywood was well worth it. The hotel was reasonably priced, very accessible and the staff was great. My room was spacious and clean, the bar and restaurant were also very nice. My only complaint is that it is very difficult to get a non-smoking room. They need more of them. But all things considered, a big improvement over the horrible hotels in South Beach.”

• The staff were friendly but possible the slowest staff I have ever worked with.

“Location was acceptable, but not great. The staff was friendly but inexcusably slow (3 staff members with one question, and no answer for 15-20 minutes). I got some food to go and they up charged it as if it was room service. There was massive noise in the hall at 12 AM, 1 AM and 2 AM. It was considerably better than the Ft. Lauderdale Airport Hilton that we stayed in at the beginning of our trip.”

• Hot tub and landscaped pool area was nice.
• Advertised "heated" pool was not heated. Also our room door locks were damaged (but functional).

• The room and bathroom were quite nice!
• The lobby could use some updating.

“The shuttles both from the airport and to the cruise ship should be direct! I didn't like the fact that they made a million stops! It took about an hour after the shuttle picked us up at the airport to get to the hotel which is 4 miles away! I would have taken a cab had I known! The shuttle to the cruise ship cost us $10. Per person and it was the same person who picked us up free the night before! Plus, they took somebody to the airport before they actually took us to the ship! It should not have cost us anything!”

• The beds were very comfortable, the flat screen was great, and the room was clean and well appointed. The pool looked great and staff friendly.
• The fitness room needs to be upgraded. There were several pieces of new equipment so maybe it is in the works.

“This Holiday Inn is much better than what I expected from a Holiday Inn. I selected it for price and location, but was pleasantly surprised at the comfort level, cleanliness, and friendly staff.”

“The hotel was newly remodeled. The room accommodations provided two separate lavatories, one in the bathroom and one outside. The room was equipped with LG HD flat screen TV with great picture.”

• Too expensive for the accommodation.

“The hotel was fine, cost too much but we didn't have much of a choice. We were not familiar with the area and needed a place to stay for the night before our cruise. I read your reviews and that is how I chose this hotel and this is the reason I am happy to do this review. There where plenty of hotels to choose from, but I have used holiday inn's before so I figured it would be nice and it was. For the price they should have offered a continental breakfast. The breakfast cost us 12.00 each. Crazy huh! Well anyway it served its purpose. I will use you service again. thanks.”

• It is convenient to the freeway, well lit at night and clean.
• The driveway was tight for turning in and I was repeatedly blocked in.

“The hotel is very close (1 block) to I-95, there are numerous grocery, service and entertainment facilities within 2 miles. The staff was efficient and friendly and the place was very clean and presentable everywhere I went.”
