• Good fitness facility and friendly staff.
• Closet door was broken.

“The Courtyard Marriott in Downtown Miami is a just what you'd expect from a Courtyard Marriott- meaning, they met all expectations-clean, good amenities and were very friendly. It is a no-frills, but good classic place to stay.”

• Clean, modern, good location.
• Staff looks unhappy and stressed, wireless didn't work in my room.

“My experience was ok. I arrived at 6:30pm and the room was still not ready. After waiting, they put me in a room with a king bed, which was very awkward as I was traveling with a friend. I asked why we could not be given a room with double beds and they said that a group of Brazilian kids (who were just checking in beside me) were taking those rooms. So apparently kids get priority over adults. And they had no roll away beds to offer. All these things aside, the room was clean, the facility nice and the $15 a day parking fee was less than the other hotels in the area, although having to pay for parking at your hotel is very strange, I guess that's just Miami for you.”

• Free wireless.
• Were not able to accommodate us with 2 beds, had to share a king bed.

“The hotel is nice, clean, and in a good location. I was very disappointed that we could not have 2 beds and were forced to share a king bed. The representative said that there were a group of kids from Brazil in town taking up the double bed rooms.”

• Great location to Downtown activities and transportation. Excellent location to Port of Miami and not far from the airport.

“Excellent location to stay the night before a cruise - less than 10 minutes to Port of Miami. Staff was courteous and generous with early check-in before and after cruise. Walking distance to activities at Bay Market and shopping. Overall very nice!”

• So accomodating and friendly. Very clean room!
• The construction around the hotel.

“What a great stay! We were met with smiles and they took care of all our needs without question. We requested a certain type of room and they gave us one better. We were remembered while we were there, spoken to, and offered many things. A great hotel with wonderful staff. We'll be staying there again!”

• The staff was extremely friendly, great location.
• Nothing we didn't like, we were very satisfied.

“We stayed at the hotel for one night prior to departing for our cruise. The hotel was extremely clean and we liked the fact that it was close to shopping and that it also had a restaurant. Also, the pool and work out facility was very nice. We also liked that the hotel had a shuttle for us to take to the port for a fee of $5 a person (as taking a cab can be costly). Everyone that worked at the hotel was very friendly. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.”

• Convenient to both the Miami airport and the Port of Miami.
• Breakfast buffet seemed overpriced.

“This hotel was perfect for our one night before cruise stay in Miami. It is close to Bayside for restaurants and shopping, and they provide a very convenient shuttle service to the pier for $5 per person.”

• Very good shuttle service to the port of Miami.
• No free public computer terminals unlike every other courtyard I've been at.

“The hotel was obviously getting over the effects of Hurricane Wilma. Although booked solid, the hotel staff were friendly & efficient. It was up to Marriott standards. The only real complaint I have is that there was no business center & no public access computer terminal. There was supposedly free Net TV in the room, but when I tried to use it, I got a message that "pay services have been suspended to this room" even though the prior screen had said that the net access was free AND I had left a credit card # for incidentals. I have stayed at Courtyards before, so I know there is supposed to be a free public terminal. Although there was plenty of public space to convert into a business center, the hotel hadn't done that.”

• Street was blocked off preventing access during one night.

“Clean, modern hotel with excellent parking options. Provided daily paper at the door and convenient to Starbucks, Polo Tropical and other eateries. Highly recommended.”

• The location, the price, the size, the view, service.
• Having to pay an unexpected parking fee.

• The hotel was very nice. It was better than we expected. The front desk staff could brush up on their customer service skills.
• I did not like having to pay $15.00 a night to park in the hotel parking lot. As a guest in the hotel, I have never had to pay for parking.

• not in walking distance of restaurants or hot spots

“This was a very enjoyable experience. Great pool and friendly people. Parking was easy and Starbucks was a block away. Great in the day time, not too much going on nearby at night.”

• Hotel met the expectations I have for a Marriott hotel.
• Restaurant staff is hard to find in Miami. Typical of the whole visit

• Location, location, location. Across the street from Bayside and Downtown Miami and mostly, the Cruise Pier/Dock, which was my destination!

“Its smack" in the middle of downtown Miami. Our destination was to board one of Carnivals many ships. It was right across the street from the Pier. It has a shuttle service for $5.00 per person. It has a nice restaurant right within the premises. The room itself was very nice. Very clean and comfortable. I loved it."”

• clean, well kept - appeared newly/recently renovated

“This hotel had a good location for our short (pre-cruise) stay. Bayfont (Bayside?) Center is close - lots of food choices and shops there. The hotel was certainly clean, well kept and welcoming. Check in staff was pleasant and concierge accommodating and helpful.
The hotel lobby was quite busy during our stay but the rooms and hallways were quiet.
I really cannot think of any negatives to this hotel and our experience there!”

• Good restaurants in area, walking distance to bayside mall, close to cruise docks. supurb management
• Diningroom buffet was nothing exceptional.

• Good location with convenient parking
• Rooms (we had two) both smelled musty--a big turnoff

“The Courtyard by Marriott downtown Miami is a good pre-cruise hotel. The property has easy access to I-95 and is close to the Miami pier. Our check-in was handled promptly and courteously but we were assigned two double beds instead of a king. Also, our room appeared clean but had an extremely musty smell, something our friends also noted. We just lived with the smell because we were exhausted after a late arrival, but it was most unpleasant.”

• Unfortunately we were not able to get a room with a view, they were full.

“We used this hotel as a precruise stay just for one night - it was an excellent choice! Clean, very well equipped (a 3 or 4 star by AAA standards). Because of a promotion by Lincoln Center at South Beach, and the knowledge of Michael (the reservation staff) we were provied with free limo service to and from a wonderful restaurant at Lincoln Center - an unexpected treat. ”
