  • The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We travel a lot and was the best staff I have ever experienced.
  • Rooms were small and balcony did not open.

“The staff was fantastic. They really care about the hotel and its guests. I have never felt so welcome before in a hotel and we travel 6-8 times a year. I was amazed that they always remembered us and all requests were met super fast. We will always stay here.”

“We stayed one night precruise. It was convenient and suitable for one night but is not a resort hotel. The balcony doors are sealed shut and it would have been nice to have had some benches to sit on outside.”

  • Staff was very friendly and helpful.
  • Power went out in the hotel. Room itself was quite dusty. Valet parking is expensive.

“The hotel is definitely a 4 star property. but the staff is super friendly and helpful. The metro mover is close to the hotel which is free and has a stop at the famous Bayside Market Place which is full of shops, restaurants, boat rides etc.”

  • Hotel staff was friendly & helpful. Easy access to the cruise port.
  • There was a Haitian convention there and the security staff was rude & mean.

“Arrived to the hotel and was greeted by a warm and friendly desk clerk. She quickly had us checked into a very nice room on an upper floor for a nice view. She also took time to answer our questions. There was a Haitian conference later that night with many security personnel who were very rude and mean. But I do not think it was the hotel security staff. There were also several pro tennis players staying there for the upcoming tournament. An easy walk to the people mover and the Bayside Mall. I would highly recommend this hotel.”

  • Construction around hotel, odor of fresh paint in room was very strong.

“The Hyatt is geared primarily for business travelers, being in the busy downtown area. We stayed for two days prior to a cruise which happened to be a weekend so the weekday bustle wasn't an issue. It's a moderate walk to the Bay front Marketplace for some touristy diversions and there's some restaurants there as well as some downtown places if you can find them. Overall, it's a pretty good option for someone who wants to be close to the cruise terminal but if you're spending more than a day or so I'd try for a hotel along a beach area where there's more to do.”

  • No fridge, no microwave, problem with internet connection.

“Wrong qualification for 4-star hotel-max I would rate it for would be 2.5 stars. Huge problems with internet connections (T-Mobil Wi-Fi customer service-wireless provider for Hyatt-was horrible and not supportive). Parking fee-$27/per night. No fridge or even microwave in the room. The rooms are small and not so clean. Will never stay again.”

  • We liked the set up of the room.
  • They had a fire. We moved during the night to a new hotel.

“Most staff was nice. When evacuated a worker offered us a free breakfast. When we did check out, my sister said what will you write on line about this, a man said don't do that. Then he gave us a free room for the night and took off the valet parking. The first lady wasn't going to do that. I wish I had his name. He was very nice. For the pursuer they were under to find 600 plus rooms for people they were handling it very well.”

“Although this Hyatt is getting surrounded by tall condo buildings and you can not use the balconies anymore, it is still a nice, clean, safe place to stay with helpful staff and a good location for pre/post cruisers. (Remodeling is almost complete I think).”

“Nice hotel but I was not pleased after a 4:30am fire alarm then zero electricity or internet access so I couldn't handle my business. They did however waive the charge for valet parking and my small dinner bill for a hamburger and 2 beers.”

  • I liked the room layout, the sink area outside the bathroom is ideal
  • All the lovely amenities and 2 star towels, really thin!

“We were very pleased with the amenities in the room. The bedding was excellent although the comforter was much to heavy/warm for me, my husband loved it! There was a little wear showing in the tub area but not detrimental to overall room quality. The towels on the other hand were very disappointing, very thin and worn. The concierge desk was very helpful with assistance getting around the area. The people mover nearby was wonderful although a little difficult to access. Overall would definitely stay there again and an excellent value for what we paid.”

  • Wireless internet was $10/day, and maid kept knocking in the late mornings.

“Hyatt Regency Miami is a nice hotel overall. I was very happy with my stay. I received friendly service from everyone I encountered there. I enjoyed lobby, pool, room service, and most notably, the guest room. It was modern and clean. I had very comfortable two nights at the Hyatt Miami. Only thing was that the hotel had Mobile Hotspot, and although I was able to use my blackberry for free, I had to pay $10/day for wireless internet service. I would recommend this hotel for any occasion.”

  • Gym too small and renovated bathroom seemed like a motel.

“The location is ideal and seemed well lit and safe at night. The staff was prompt, helpful and professional. Restaurant is nice. We had a renovated room but the bathroom and closet felt like a dorm room, otherwise the room was great. They need to incorporate the sink area into the bathroom, not just putting a half wall to hide. The closet door not having a full frame seemed a little 70ish. If bathroom updated I would consider 4 star not 3.”

  • Fitness center is being remodeled, temporary fitness set up in hallway.

“Excellent choice for couples and business travelers. Hotel in a safe area of Downtown Miami, easily accessible by foot to Bayside, AAA, and Carnival Center. Staff and amenities were outstanding. Drinks were reasonable (hotel has happy hour). Perfect getaway, would recommend and will be back.”

  • Bed and bedding was wonderful; room was recently refurbished room.
  • The bathroom wasn't refurbished that well.

“A nice, clean room in a recently refurbished part of the hotel. The bathroom wasn't refurbished as well as it could have been. Carpets, wallpaper, bedding are new. This is an okay location, but Downtown Miami is absolutely dead on the weekends. People mover can be accessed from the Convention Center right next door. The area immediately south near the hotel looks pretty grim. The hotel's restaurant is way overpriced ($40 for the breakfast buffet).”

  • Great location to cruise boats Downtown traffic can be hectic though.
  • The hotel is still being renovated and there are some areas not available to use right now.

“This hotel was very clean and a great location to the cruise boats. We stayed in a renovated room and it was awesome! The sports bar was not open yet due to construction. Location is Downtown, so you have to take taxis after dark. It is in walking distance to the bayside shopping area with tons of great restaurants and shopping. We had our 2 little girls and my parents and it was just a good experience for us all.”

  • Spacious, nicely adorned rooms with flat screen televisions. Hotel restaurant was great.
  • Staff didn't offer as much help as desired. Hotel charges for use of internet in the business center.

“Hotel in the process of renovation with spacious rooms with good furniture and flat screen televisions will provide a good night's sleep. The staff couldn't help me much with finding a place to have dinner, so I settled on the hotel bar/lounge which actually had phenomenally good food and service. They charge $10 for 15 minutes of internet use which is extortion at best. The self-parking ($12.25 overnight, no in/out privilege) is a good trek from the hotel desk but the walk is safe and enclosed, although the garage itself is a bit confusing.”

  • Some of the rooms had nice views.
  • It had no pool nor working ice machines. Not a 4-star hotel.

“The bottom line is that this is not a 4-star hotel in its current condition. It is under construction which means half of EVERY floor in the hotel is closed. It also means that there are no ice machines in the hotel (room service will deliver until midnight, then you're out of luck). And, because of the construction, the pool is CLOSED! We were very disappointed when we checked in, as we were looking forward to enjoying the warm weather by the pool, at least for a couple of hours. The final insult to injury was when we checked in at 10pm, they had only SMOKING rooms left! We spent one night in a smoking room, and then were able to switch to a non-smoking room for the second night. I don't think you can call a hotel with no ice machines and no pool a four-star hotel.”

  • Hotel old and in need of major repair.

“Hotel has a great name and great reputation. Great lobby and front area. The staff was friendly. The hotel is old and is not in the best shape. Rooms are not up to date in my opinion. The rooms were not as clean as I have seen in staying at numerous hotels. The hotel advertises a sports bar, however the hotel is doing construction and the sports bar is not operating. The parking is a concern. 27 dollars to park your car a night if you valet, plus tip. 12 dollars if you park yourself and walk about a half mile.”

  • Ongoing construction in and around the hotel.

“The hotel offers very nice, modern and spicy rooms; the staff is very attentive and extremely friendly. However the hotel is undergoing significant renovations at the time of our stay (Dec 07). Part of the lobby and the pool area were closed. The newly decorated rooms smell very 'new'. Also in the vicinity of the hotel there is a lot of construction so you can't really stroll around.”
