- Room and hotel very elegant, clean and inviting.
- Parking garage was downright scary, location is get in and out of.
“A little hard to get to from airport. Bellman disappeared and security guy had to bring luggage up to room. Parking garage was downright scary. Elevator hard to find. Long walk to hotel from garage. Garage - impossible to navigate, main gate closed late at night, alternate exit hard to find. Once I finally found the exit with the help of security, cashier/security guard was not there. Tried to charge me $19 for 2 1/2 hours parking. Finally reduced it to $12.75. Room was very elegant but doors to patio/balcony no longer open. Was a little surprised to find a large swastika scratched onto the balcony glass. To her credit, the front desk clerk looked horrified when I told her.”

- The room was very nice and large-sized when compared to others in the area.
- The restaurant was average with limited choice in terms of menu.
“Overall a nice hotel if you want to be centrally located. The beaches are close by along with the airport, cruise terminal, shopping and entertainment. The rooms are large and spacious with the renowned Hyatt bed. The staff was very helpful and courteous. The only thing lacking maybe the fact that there is only one restaurant thereby limiting a guest's choice of dining without leaving the hotel. Besides that I think its a great place to spend a few days in Miami.”

- Convenient to the I-95!
- Valet parking is expensive, staff did not speak English.
“This hotel is in a great location in downtown Miami. Right by the I-95, you can hop on northbound or southbound and get anywhere in South Florida! The valet parking is expensive and is basically your only option. The staff did not speak English, which is difficult if you don't speak Spanish, like me!”

- It was modern and different. not the same boring layout that you are used to.
- Restaurant was expensive.

- Nice toilet amenities (soap, shampoo, etc.).
- Expensive parking, located on one-way street which was hard to find when arriving from south.
“Very nice, secure facility, quality room, nice bed. It's located at a weird intersection, and, when coming from the south, I had to make about seven turns to get onto the right street, as there are all kinds of one way, turn-restricted streets. Staff was very helpful.”

- Parking didn't accommodate my truck and was very expensive with no in and out privileges I had to pay a restaurant manager 20.00 to park 3 blocks away.

- Location was terrible with an awful view of a construction site. Hotel too busy with conventions for proper vacation.
“The hotel had a terrible view of a construction site rather than the nice beautiful Miami waters. At the time we were checking in, the hotel was hosting graduation ceremonies for several colleges which caused us to have to wait 45 minutes in line to pull into the hotel's Valet. There was no warning that the hotel was going to be that busy which is why it was possibly so cheap. Because of the commencement ceremonies, we were unable to leave for any shopping or dinner because of the amount of time it would take to get back into the hotel from the street. The only saving feature this hotel had was the comfortable beds. However, the rooms smelled of mold and after the renovation was complete, the ceilings had never been cleaned of debris, mold or dirt.”

“We stayed at this hotel for one not before going on a cruise. If this is considered a 4 star I would hate to see what the 3 stars are like. Stay at the intercontinental instead. This location was horrible and it was loud all night with workers. There were bums on the street when we walked to the bayside marketplace. Not a good location at all. The bathroom was old and run down. The staff was friendly enough. The food was overpriced and not good at all. We are from Chicago so it's hard to compare. Would not stay here again mainly because of the location. I am glad it had a pool but it needed to be cleaned and it was loud with construction noise.”

- The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We travel a lot and was the best staff I have ever experienced.
- Rooms were small and balcony did not open.

- Power went out in the hotel. Room itself was quite dusty. Valet parking is expensive.

- Hotel staff was friendly & helpful. Easy access to the cruise port.
- There was a Haitian convention there and the security staff was rude & mean.
“Arrived to the hotel and was greeted by a warm and friendly desk clerk. She quickly had us checked into a very nice room on an upper floor for a nice view. She also took time to answer our questions. There was a Haitian conference later that night with many security personnel who were very rude and mean. But I do not think it was the hotel security staff. There were also several pro tennis players staying there for the upcoming tournament. An easy walk to the people mover and the Bayside Mall. I would highly recommend this hotel.”

- Construction around hotel, odor of fresh paint in room was very strong.
“The Hyatt is geared primarily for business travelers, being in the busy downtown area. We stayed for two days prior to a cruise which happened to be a weekend so the weekday bustle wasn't an issue. It's a moderate walk to the Bay front Marketplace for some touristy diversions and there's some restaurants there as well as some downtown places if you can find them. Overall, it's a pretty good option for someone who wants to be close to the cruise terminal but if you're spending more than a day or so I'd try for a hotel along a beach area where there's more to do.”

- No fridge, no microwave, problem with internet connection.
“Wrong qualification for 4-star hotel-max I would rate it for would be 2.5 stars. Huge problems with internet connections (T-Mobil Wi-Fi customer service-wireless provider for Hyatt-was horrible and not supportive). Parking fee-$27/per night. No fridge or even microwave in the room. The rooms are small and not so clean. Will never stay again.”

- We liked the set up of the room.
- They had a fire. We moved during the night to a new hotel.
“Most staff was nice. When evacuated a worker offered us a free breakfast. When we did check out, my sister said what will you write on line about this, a man said don't do that. Then he gave us a free room for the night and took off the valet parking. The first lady wasn't going to do that. I wish I had his name. He was very nice. For the pursuer they were under to find 600 plus rooms for people they were handling it very well.”

- Hotel had a fire (small) and didn't have power for 13 hrs.
“Nice hotel but I was not pleased after a 4:30am fire alarm then zero electricity or internet access so I couldn't handle my business. They did however waive the charge for valet parking and my small dinner bill for a hamburger and 2 beers.”

- I liked the room layout, the sink area outside the bathroom is ideal
- All the lovely amenities and 2 star towels, really thin!
“We were very pleased with the amenities in the room. The bedding was excellent although the comforter was much to heavy/warm for me, my husband loved it! There was a little wear showing in the tub area but not detrimental to overall room quality. The towels on the other hand were very disappointing, very thin and worn. The concierge desk was very helpful with assistance getting around the area. The people mover nearby was wonderful although a little difficult to access. Overall would definitely stay there again and an excellent value for what we paid.”

- It is not a 4-star hotel. In dire need of redecorating!
“Good location. In very bad need of redecorating. Bathroom lights extremely dim. No counter space in bathroom at all. Showing its age badly.”
