• Starbucks in the lobby, comfy beds.
• Mold in the bathroom around tub.

“Back doors lock at 9pm which we were not told about and when we returned at night we found ourselves on the Riverwalk with homeless men sleeping on the benches. Had to walk another block back and went around a busy street. Bad location. Concierge did not know a lot to suggest restaurants etc.”

• The beds are really comfortable and the room we had was great!
• Parking has to be valet or pay to park in a garage.

“I have stayed in this hotel twice and have been very happy with it both times. All staff is nice and very courteous and the rooms are nice and comfortable. Would definitely stay in this hotel again!”

• Very nice recently updated room.
• Location in middle of construction area is not ideal - will be better in a year or two.

“Great service, very nice updated rooms. A lot of construction around the hotel and it's not ideal for walking to things, but you can jump on the metro-mover. Excellent value in the off-season.”

• Nice restaurant and a pool available downstairs, friendly staff at check-in.
• The house keeping staff left long black hairs, on the floor, in the soap, on the bed.

“Overall was good. Lobby and downstairs area was good. Room in furniture were good, but layout of room was strange and room was apparently remodeled from 70's style. The hair that I found was very disgusting. I notified front desk about it and they credited last night's dinner, but I would just rather not have the hair.”

“It is a nice hotel with a comfortable bed and amenities. The hotel is much better than the last time I stayed with them. The staffs are friendly. The only unpleasant experience was when on my last day of stay, the bellman mistakenly knocked my room at 6 o'clock in the morning, which supposed to be another room.”

• This was not a 4 star hotel.

“The location was very good during the day but at night it is not so desirable. I understand that the area is currently undergoing a revitalization so this may be more of a desirable night-time location in the future.”

• It is a beautiful hotel, convenient location, friendly helpful staff.
• The bathroom tub area had not been remodeled.

“The carpet and bathroom floor/walls were dirty. The lobby smelled along the wall on the right side as one exits the building. There was a service to get your luggage to the airport for you, advertised in the hotel in room book. I made plans to use this service only to learn the morning I was leaving that the service was no longer available. I had to lug my large suitcase from one meeting to another; no rental car. The business center closed at 6:00 PM. It should have been open much later.”

• It's very nice and fancy.
• Everything was so expensive.

“This hotel is a very nice. It's in the heart of downtown Miami and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The only complaint I had was everything in the hotel was beyond expensive for an average traveler. For instance the breakfast buffet is 23 dollars and parking in the garage was 12 dollars with no ins and outs. This hotel is definitely for business travelers. Don't get me wrong it's a very nice hotel, it's just everything is expensive.”

• My room was awful.

“When I checked into the hotel, after waiting for nearly 20 minutes (they had only one person working the counter, on a Saturday!), I informed the person checking me in that I was a Passport member as a frequent Hyatt visitor (I'm in the meetings and conventions industry). I asked them to put me and my kids in the same area (we had separate rooms). I was told that they had no rooms available with a King Bed, except for smoking rooms. I was also told they had no rooms next to each other but they would put my kids as close to me as they could. I asked the gentleman to look again and reminded him that I was a passport member and to see if he had anything on the passport level (which is typically where they put me). He said that he found a room with a King bed, but it would have to be across the hall from my kids room (2 double beds). I said that was fine as long as it was directly across the hall. So, I find out that my kid's room is not "directly across the hall", but actually it was down and across the hall, after the elevators. I then checked into my room. It was absolutely ghetto. The bathroom had a solo sink, no counter space to put any toiletries, a handicap shower, no bath, the shower sprayed water all over the floor, the room was gross, the mirror was dirty, the glasses in the room were also dirty. In the morning after our stay, at approximately 6:30 am, the people next to our room had several screaming kids running up and down the hall. I went out and asked them to keep it down and they ignored me and continued to allow their kids to scream and run up and down the hallway. I called down to the front desk and asked them to send someone up and I don't believe they ever did. The walls were so thin that I could hear everything that was going on next to me and it was absolutely ridiculous. Another note, they had no mini-bar, which is a little odd for a property that purports itself as a 4 star. I went down to the bar to get a cocktail for my wife.”

• The hotel lobby was pretty and luxurious and the staff was really nice.
• Location, the wall in middle, no refrigerator, balcony doesn't open.

“Well this was my first time stay in Miami and I saw this hotel, liked it. It said near beach and buffet and the pool looked good, but I was wrong about the beach being close because it was really far and we had to take a city bus everyday to go to beach. Everything closed at 6-8 the Pharmacist and at night it was dead. The sink was not connected to the bathroom and the wall was weird. The restaurants were pricy though. If it was closer to beach it would be perfect though. The pool needs to be larger and the balcony door should open!”

• Not a good location. People not very friendly.

“It was not what I expected. The people were either extremely nice or extremely rude. We were told that they provided transportation to the airport which they did not. On the other hand, the rooms were very nice. We had to go search for towels one morning. The beds were comfortable, the lobby was very nice. Transportation to south beach and other tourists attractions was easily accessible. Still had a very good time.”

• Reception person was very rude. Pool was very small. Hotel was very old.

“The hotel looked very nice from the outside. The inside seemed pretty old, but ok. The room was big, with a nice view and a comfortable bed. But the bathroom was very old and a little dingy. The carpet seemed very old and made the room smell old.”

• Overall cleanliness, friendly and helpful staff, walking distance to several places we wanted to visit in Downtown.
• No microwave or refrigerator in the room. Must pay for parking. 4-star hotel, parking should be free.

“Enjoyed my stay at the Hyatt. Even though there were a few disappointments, overall the good outweighed the bad. We made a good family memory.”

• Swimming pool was very relaxing.
• They put us in a handicapped room no place to put anything in bathroom.

“I have stayed in Hyatts in Oak Brook, Lisle, Kansas City, and this one in the last six months. This one had the worst service in both restaurant and bar. I have never been put in a handicapped room anywhere, and they didn't even tell us. There was no place to put anything. My makeup slid off the back of the toilet and everything broke.”

“Nice hotel, very nice staff. Hotel is a little far from all the main attractions of Miami. Its good for business travelers doing business in the area. This hotel does not have parking. This was very upsetting for me, I had to pay for a parking garage every time I had to go to my room. Regarding the features of the room, we did have a nice LCD screen TV. The water pressure was very good and everything in the room was nicely supplies. The toilet did not flush well though. Overall nice hotel if you want to stay in the area, I probably would not stay here again though.”

• The hotel was centrally located easy to get to different parts of the city.
• It was a little difficult getting to the hotel. One has to know where they are going to find the entrance.

“My husband and I liked the decor of the hotel. The staff was very friendly and the rooms where very clean. The hotel was centrally located. It was close to Brickell Key and all the quaint shops and restaurants. We enjoyed our stay at the Hyatt and would recommend it to anyone that is looking for a weekend getaway.”

• Room and hotel very elegant, clean and inviting.
• Parking garage was downright scary, location is get in and out of.

“A little hard to get to from airport. Bellman disappeared and security guy had to bring luggage up to room. Parking garage was downright scary. Elevator hard to find. Long walk to hotel from garage. Garage - impossible to navigate, main gate closed late at night, alternate exit hard to find. Once I finally found the exit with the help of security, cashier/security guard was not there. Tried to charge me $19 for 2 1/2 hours parking. Finally reduced it to $12.75. Room was very elegant but doors to patio/balcony no longer open. Was a little surprised to find a large swastika scratched onto the balcony glass. To her credit, the front desk clerk looked horrified when I told her.”

• The room was very nice and large-sized when compared to others in the area.
• The restaurant was average with limited choice in terms of menu.

“Overall a nice hotel if you want to be centrally located. The beaches are close by along with the airport, cruise terminal, shopping and entertainment. The rooms are large and spacious with the renowned Hyatt bed. The staff was very helpful and courteous. The only thing lacking maybe the fact that there is only one restaurant thereby limiting a guest's choice of dining without leaving the hotel. Besides that I think its a great place to spend a few days in Miami.”

• Convenient to the I-95!
• Valet parking is expensive, staff did not speak English.

“This hotel is in a great location in downtown Miami. Right by the I-95, you can hop on northbound or southbound and get anywhere in South Florida! The valet parking is expensive and is basically your only option. The staff did not speak English, which is difficult if you don't speak Spanish, like me!”

• It was modern and different. not the same boring layout that you are used to.
• Restaurant was expensive.

“It was really nice. we only stayed one night, but it was still a good experience. our neighbors were a bit rowdy but that was not the hotels fault. we loved it and would go back.”

• Expensive parking, located on one-way street which was hard to find when arriving from south.

“Very nice, secure facility, quality room, nice bed. It's located at a weird intersection, and, when coming from the south, I had to make about seven turns to get onto the right street, as there are all kinds of one way, turn-restricted streets. Staff was very helpful.”
