“Do not stay here, no papers, internet not working properly.” Jun 15, 2008 by
K from Land O Lakes, FL
“We didn't like that when we checked into the hotel we had to pay an additional $15.00 for services that are normally included in hotel rooms in this day and age (parking, in-room coffee & internet). Once we checked in, a worker knocked on our door and asked to come in. He just kept saying "cable". We didn't open the door. We told him we didn't request maintenance. We called the front desk & told them someone was asking to come in to do maintenance that we didn't request. The front desk then called back about 10 minutes later & asked if we could let the worker in as they had to run a TV cable through our room for the floors above us. If a worker needed to come into our room to do maintenance, the front desk should have notified us beforehand. They shouldn't have expected us to let someone into our room unannounced.” Jun 9, 2008 by
Jenny from Lithonia, GA
“Great.” Jun 9, 2008 by
Ingrid from Canton, GA
“I would not recommend this hotel to anyone! I was made to pay additional fees at check-in, they called it a "Resort fee." There is nothing resort-like about this hotel.” Jun 9, 2008 by
Steve from Parma, OH
“This place stinks needs to be cleaned and fixed up. Not worth the money paid before the $15.00 a day resort fee was added on. I don't think they have done much to the place since the 60's. Walls needed cleaning and painting. Very warm in hallways and elevator. Chrome in bathroom and closet very rusty. This place is bad!” Jun 8, 2008 by
Crista from Jacksonville, FL
“We enjoyed our visit and would return without a doubt.” Jun 7, 2008 by
Pat from Port Charlotte, FL
“This resort is a nice place to take family. Many amenities, close to attractions and restaurants.” Jun 6, 2008 by
Fran from Marco Island, FL
“I was charged an extra $15 resort fee for a hotel that was almost unbearable only to sleep in for a few hours. This hotel is not close to being a resort. The lobby might look ornate, but the entire property is in disrepair. The sheets are thin and rough, mattresses hard. The rooms are dirty and in need of repair.” Jun 5, 2008 by
Rand D. from Clearwater, FL
“To their credit, I met a man leaving with his family that said he and his family enjoyed it very much. I did not get a chance to take in what the hotel had to offer, I must say, as I was in town on business and not there much but honestly I did not care for it. I found the hotel lacking in upkeep. You could see worn edges to the furniture, stains on the carpets. There was at times a pretense of keeping things up but all in all the standards seemed pretty poor. Like the concept of "nice" in a third world country. As a matter of fact, I find many hotels in South East Florida to be this way. Particularly the ones that come across as nice but are not part of a chain. Beyond that they charged an arbitrary $15 a day for the facilities that I did not agree to and they wouldn't back down on it. This was for "wireless access," "the newspaper", "business center," pool. Nothing I used or intended to use. The redeeming grace was that the staff was friendly and honest. I left my Black Berry at the front desk one day and came back to get it, not knowing where I had misplaced it, only to walk in and have the gentleman at the front desk flag me down and tell me he had it. For this I was very grateful. But upon review, it is funny that I would even expect that it could have possibly disappeared. Not to discredit the gentleman at the front desk but shows where my head was at staying there. All in all not good for a business traveler. The other amenities and facilities might make up for it should you go there on vacation, but with me this was not the case.” Jun 4, 2008 by
Eric from Baker City, OR
“The hotel was average. The tub was old and grungy. The shower/tub water was brown. The resort fee is bogus. For "parking, use of the gym, coffee in the room, DirecTV." Huh? Charging for TV? There were only 14 channels.” Jun 4, 2008 by
Lori from Tampa, FL
“Air conditioning didn't work in hallways, hotel dirty, needed to be pressure cleaned. Wooden floors in room nice, but filthy dirty. My feet were black with dirt from walking barefoot in my room!” Jun 1, 2008 by
Cindy from Oviedo, FL
“This hotel is in a poor location and not near Plantation and Weston at all. It is in an undesirable location. First one the safety lock was broken; second one the toilet was a problem.” May 31, 2008 by
Jan from Greenville, SC
“The internet did not work most of the time. The elevator did not work most of the time. The hotel room and staff were not bad.” May 31, 2008 by
Kelby from Tucker, GA
“The hotel management was rude. They charged me an extra $45 as resort fees over the room price and told me it was to cover things like the internet usage and pool. I paid it because It was almost 10 p.m. and my wife and 1 year old son were in the car. But the hotels internet was down for 2 out of the three days. I was there costing me money and productivity as this was a business trip.” May 31, 2008 by
David from Melville, NY
“I have asked 2 rooms in a 3 star hotel. This hotel was a dump! On the front door when you enter to the hotel you see the Tax line notes from the Sheriff, and it looks like the Sheriff was braking the lockers as well! The person in the front desk wanted to charge us all kind of funny fees in addition to the fees of the room (if you want I will be happy to show you my credit card bill for that the rooms had a leaking toilet, dirty toilets, and an AC from the 70's that was making so much noise that you can't sleep with that AC. Not to mention that you can not control the temp on the AC, it is freezing or just hot air - but the noise! You just can't sleep. The hotel was empty, and not for nothing! The bar on the pool was closed, on the floor of the room was a broken glass, that I hate to clean! The sheet hade some hair - so what more can I say - can I get a clean sheet? I have taken photos of all of that. I will not give that hotel a rating of more then motel! And the service very low, that is not part of a chain like you have said I was wondering if you are offering any kind of compensation for that hotel stay - that was below any expectation !” May 31, 2008 by
Natalie from Beverly Hills, FL
“Hotel is in the middle of nowhere. If you want to eat, you have to buy their expensive food, nothing is within walking distance. The air condition was turned off, to save on energy, they forgot it is Florida. Hotel is over 40 years old and in major need of repair. Carpets were dirty. Had to wear socks all the time. Staff was not friendly. Guess had to save on that also. Very disappointed with the hotel. Pool needs repairs. Many broken items around the pool.” May 31, 2008 by
Spencer from Cincinnati, OH
“A has-been Radisson paraded as a resort. A resort fee is charged, so you can have a coffee maker, newspaper, swimming pool, and other typical hotel amenities.” May 29, 2008 by
Jen from Tinley Park, IL
“This hotel was atrocious! I could not believe, however, that this was a 3-star rated hotel. I have stayed at nice Motel 8s! The carpet was stained - you didn't even feel comfortable taking off your shoes! The closet doors were missing. The room just looked overall dirty and not well maintained. There was a terrible odor in the room as well.” May 28, 2008 by
Chad from Delta, UT
“I do not remember any $15 charge in my billing details.” May 28, 2008 by
Ramon from Sunrise, FL
“Terrible.” May 28, 2008 by
Ada from Lexington, KY
“They gave me a dirty bathroom, bad carpet, dusty and anything else type of room.” May 22, 2008 by
Andrix from Boca Raton, FL
“Hotel was a bit hard to locate, we got lost. The rooms are quite ok, clean enough. The price was ok. The front desk staff were not that charming, I felt like we were being judged by how we look - we were on vacation and were in shorts and shirts - not our usual business attire - we probably looked like young kids - I felt we were not given the respect we were used to and were sort of treated nonchalantly.” May 21, 2008 by
Lorna from Cape Coral, FL
“This was hotel in decline or it just recently opened again. The tax notices were still on the windows. Only one elevator worked and the two main restaurants were closed, the bar had a limited menu, and the tike bar was closed. Overall, not very happy.” May 15, 2008 by
Al from Orlando, FL
“Excellent hotel and staff very helpful. They exceed my expectation.” May 14, 2008 by
Walt from Crestview, FL
“Got to hotel late at night, dirty looking outside area. At check in, was required to pay extra $15 at night for parking, internet, and paper. Room was dirty, won't go back.” May 12, 2008 by
Dan from Vero Beach, FL
“I was upset that the Spa and Gym "benefits" were very limited, and the food was slightly overpriced. The pool bar was never open. The beds were big and comfy which was nice, but the location of the area is not very family friendly. I did not feel comfortable going out in that section of town at night and honestly there wasnt much to do. The water pressure in the hotel room was that of a sink faucet and the elevators were out of date to be inspected by over a year! I def felt nervous riding in them. Over all the people were friendly, but I personally will not stay in the hotel again unless there were some kind of investments to improve the area in which the hotel is located.” May 12, 2008 by
Michael from Winter Park, FL
“It is a 3 star hotel but it was really a 1 star resort. At check in we were charged a $15 resort fee per night, which would have been ok if this place was a real resort. But it was more like a dumpy motel with a nice lobby, 8 floors and a tennis court. The A/C barely worked but it makes sense as it looks like it was from the 1950's. There was tax lien notices on the doors. The elevator hasn't been inspected since 2006 and we ran into problems trying to get to and from with it. The renovated sink leaked. The air filter in the bathroom was caked with dust. The hallways smelled horrible. There was rat poop in the hallways. Loud guests. The staff, however, was very friendly and courteous.” May 10, 2008 by
Cheryl from Olive Hill, KY
“I asked to have a room with a balcony, and was put by an electrical room. Staff talked badly about me, in front of me, to another staff member. Elevator wouldn't go to the second floor so we had to go up stairs. When my disabled friend couldn't get the elevator to work and asked for help, no one would tell him where the stairs were. Was given 2 free drink cards for the lounge and after having the 2 drinks staff member said I was intoxicated and continued to speak poorly to me. When we left my friends diabetic/pain medications and tester was accidentally left in a drawer. Hotel denied having them, and they were stolen. Had to drive 18 hours home without them, and he could of died. I do not recommend this place to anyone. Had there been a tragedy, you could not of used the elevator that wouldn't go to second floor, and the other one, you could not get to open up.” May 7, 2008 by
Jeremy from Miami, FL
“This hotel is an older hotel but is well decorated the only problem I had is that the AC system is old and did not work properly. Other than that it could have been a lovely hotel despite the older design.” May 6, 2008 by
Shari from Naples, FL
“Price far exceeded the value of this hotel-beyond reason. The lobby area was nice, but that is where it ended. Furnishings in rooms were outdated, filthy walls. There were used Styrofoam cups left under the TV by the last patrons and obviously not cleaned by maid. Grungy, poorly lit/dark interior hallways made me feel unsafe. Dirty furniture in the hallways. Paint on ceilings falling down. Horrible location when I was lost, staff could not assist when asked for directions although they were pleasant and gracious. They had no idea there were two local streets with the same name. I spent an extra hour looking for the hotel which was in the middle of a residential neighborhood and not located close to anything I needed to be by. I wouldn't ever want to stay here again-not even for free.” Apr 18, 2008 by
Jacquee from Orlando, FL
“The public parts of the hotel are exceptional. The room had hardwood floors, which was a nice change except they weren't clean and dirt was all over my feet! The bathroom shower had very old mildew. The hotel has had a recent renovation, but the didn't do anything to the shower areas (the bathroom sinks are amazing). The bed was very comfortable. The balcony was nice but there was construction on an outdoor theater during my visit that began at 7am. It was an acceptable hotel, but not what I generally get from a 3 star hotel.” Apr 10, 2008 by
Chris from Basking Ridge, NJ
“Excellent and friendly staff, they accommodated all requests of mine including giving me use of their printer. The alarm clock and television did not work, but as I don't watch TV, and because it didn't matter when I woke up, I didn't bother complaining. The internet connection was rather slow, and this bothered me somewhat. All in all, a pleasant place to stay.” Apr 6, 2008 by
Katie from Greensboro, NC
“I would never recommend this place to anyone, unless they were in a real money bind. It was dirty. The bathroom had pubes all over the floor and the tub drain backed up. The "fresh" towels had hairs tangled in them.” Apr 6, 2008 by
Regina from Eureka, CA
“It seemed like in its day it was a great resort and went down hill, but is now trying to make a comeback. Off the beaten path, under a lot of construction. But all the staff was incredibly kind and helpful. The $15 resort fee should be cut out as it was not much of a resort. I'd go back.” Apr 3, 2008 by
Diane S. from Jacksonville, FL
“This was my worst stay ever! I had to ride an elevator with the cleaning staff and their dirty water. The air in the hotel made a noise all night long. There was construction leaving no place to park. The hotel seemed to be run by youngsters so I did not even bother to complain. Out of 3 elevators only one was working so it took 15 minutes for the elevator to come to us.” Apr 2, 2008 by
Frederico from Pembroke Pines, FL
“This hotel was a shock to me. It was a very nice resort. Great for any occasion, business, pleasure and family oriented. Staff was very professional and the room service was first class. I was overwhelmed by all of the extras i.e. gym, spa, 3 restaurants and an awesome golf course. Will visit again.” Apr 1, 2008 by
Brad from St. Louis, MO
“Would not stay at this property again.” Mar 23, 2008 by
John from Spring Hill, FL
“Clean but hard to find poor signed.” Mar 12, 2008 by
Randy from Marathon, FL
“Upon checking in at the hotel, I was stunned. First, the attendant was very rude and short, not only with us but other guest that checked in before we did. Next, we went to our room and upon getting out of our elevator on the third floor they were broken tiles as we stepped out of the elevator, and the tile was very dirty. Last upon entering our room the room smelled musty and stale, the pull shades to darken the room were broken, the sink in the bathroom leaked, and the bathtub was grossly and dirty. After calling the front desk and informing them about our findings the attendant told my wife, we will get to it soon as we can, we cannot do it now because we are very busy. My wife went to the grocery store to get cleaner, so we could clean the bathtub.” Mar 12, 2008 by
Kathy from Port St Lucie, FL
“I will never recommend this hotel. On Saturday evening we received a call from the restaurant to pay for our pizza. My credit card was on file and we were watching a movie and I had taken my medication for the night. He was rude to my 11 year old grandchild and the same with me until I told him to him the manager of the hotel to call me directly. They had no "ice tea" we received brown water, with a bag in it.” Mar 3, 2008 by
Gary from Plant City, FL
“Undergoing construction, bulldozers everywhere, bars and dining closed at 4 pm., Tax lien notice on front door of hotel and bar showing that the hotel owes $168,000 in back taxes. Paid twice as much for a room as someone else checking in. On checking out I was charged and additional $15.00 resort fee.” Mar 3, 2008 by
Dennis from Port Charlotte, FL
“Upon check in I was charged a $15.00 "resort fee". When I asked why the staff said it was for the use of the pool, spa and parking. The pool was closed, and the "spa" consisted of a few exercise machines. Also the place was an older hotel that had been "updated" with a few fixtures and a coat of paint.” Mar 2, 2008 by
Gary from Palm Bay, FL
“My biggest problem was with the $15.00 resort fee that I was charged at check in which was a total surprise to me. I have stayed at many hotels but have never had this happen before. This seems to me as a trick to get you in the door and then they get you.” Mar 2, 2008 by
Wes from Pelham, NY
“Not worth the money. Hotel is a little run down. Was probably nice 15 years ago. Pool was closed and filled with leaves. Good points would be free wireless and a frig in the room. Would look elsewhere in the future.” Feb 22, 2008 by
Zoila P. from Miami, CT
“The hotel was close to the stores and the location was very nice.” Apr 13, 2006 by
Vencia from Powder Springs, GA
“This hotel was very clean and had a friendly staff. They were prompt and efficient. I enjoyed seeing friendly, helpful faces. It was a great experience; my boyfriend and I loved it.” Mar 6, 2006 by
Cheryl from Palm Bay, FL
“While looking like a classy hotel from the outside as well as the lobby, the rooms fell far short of expectations.” Jan 1, 2006 by
James from Temple
“Avoid this hotel! On arrival, rooms were not available. Prepaid King room could not be provided. Lobby rest rooms very dirty. Elevators not working and not currently inspected. ” Oct 10, 2005 by
Lake from Uniondale, NY
“The hotel is sub standard, it is clear that it used to be a 4 star hotel. However the building is rundown. The staff untidy. The hotel appears to be currently in use a residential hotel and I don't mean for the middle classes.” Hotel Representatives:
