• Excellent feather pillows.
• Valet parking was $20 per night, and no other parking was available!

“If you want to be waited on hand and foot, and are willing to pay for it, this is your hotel. If you just want a place to sleep for the night, go elsewhere!”

• Had to pay (high rate) for parking.

“The hotel is in a great location, the rooms are very attractive and the staff was very friendly down to the valet parkers. On the downside, for parking you only have the option to valet your car for an additional $20 per night or to pay over two dollars per hour at the parking meters across the street.”

“I was extremely dissatisfied with this hotel stay. I have stayed in Howard Johnson hotels with more class. The room was old, the air conditioner was old, and smelly and drippy. It was a musty room, and a musty floor. In fact, after I checked in and went to my room, I came back by the front desk and asked to be changed to a non smoking room, or a non smoking floor. I was disgusted to find out that it was not a smoking room, nor a smoking floor, that the musty old smell was just that, musty and old. This is not the quality I would expect from a Hilton hotel, I have stayed in plenty in my life, and several in the past year. I was very disappointed with this stay, and would like to be contacted so that I can speak to someone regarding this dissatisfaction.”

“This is my 3rd opportunity to stay at the double tree hotel in coconut. I continue to be impressed by the friendliness and professionalism of the hotel staff and the ambience of the facility. The rooms are comfortable and immaculate. Sleeping on the bed mattress is like reclining on a cloud.”

• Located in a nice residential area of Miami. The free 'welcome' cookies was delicious.
• Valet parking is $20. Small bathrooms. Slow free Internet.

“This is a nice hotel if you want to stay in the relaxed chic area of Coconut Grove. It's in a residential area so not many shops within walking distance. Also, it's easy to find street meter parking for overnight to avoid the $20 valet charge. Rooms were nice with balconies. There is a tennis court too! Free Internet is slow. Ice machine only on the 1st floor. Bathroom is small.”

• It was a beautiful area and I felt safe.
• Everything is so tight (close together).

“For what I needed this was fine and I guess this is just a pricey area but I have stayed in much nicer hotels for half the price but all the motels in this area were expensive so I was pleased with the choice we made.”

• Nicely decorated.
• Hotel has no heating system. Usually don't need it in Miami, but it was a little cold.

“Small room. Was pushy about garage parking. Had balcony that overlooked outdoor bar. Was quiet because it was cool outside, but I¿m not sure how noise level would be if it were warmer. Was clean and they give you cookies a check-in. Would stay there again.”

“Staff was very attentive and accommodating. Requests for minor repairs in room (smoke detector, towel bar, running toilet) were done quickly. Rooms were comfortably furnished. I would come back.”

“Convenient location close to i-95 which is important if you have a car. Walking distance to shopping & dining. Having a car means that you have to add valet parking cost to the final price as parking meters around the hotel are 24/7.”

• Rude and apathetic staff who ignored our requests for maintenance.

“I will not be staying at this hotel in the future. It was nowhere near a 3 star hotel. The staff was apathetic and never responded to our requests about non-functioning lights in the room, even though we called everyday. The room was not attractive and the decor was drab. The bathtub had a stain in it. I was very displeased with my experience.”

• Restaurant / Room service unavailable 30 min. before stated closing time.

“Nice looking, well maintained hotel with very friendly staff. In a picturesque area with water and marina views from the restaurant and pool. Excellent breakfast buffet that was reasonably priced for a hotel. My only issue was that I checked in 45 min. before restaurant / room service closed and was unable to get an answer on the phone and there was no one at the host stand in the restaurant when I went downstairs. I could hear people cleaning in the back, when I asked busboy if the restaurant was open he said technically yes but that the kitchen was closed. There was nothing else open within walking distance so I made due with the vending machines at a 3 star hotel at 10:30 at night.”

• No free coffee in mornings. Food and drinks are very expensive.

• Hotel staff greeted us warmly and advised us of free (metered) parking available from 10PM to 10AM.
• Valet service is costly and may be the only option available during busy times.

“We came to Miami to pick up a 26 foot sailboat so staying on the 11th floor with a view of the marina at Biscayne Bay and all the sailboats moored in the bay was truly beautiful.”

• A Simple Hotel with out any frills But is clean.
• Hotel staff were not at all able to handle a reservation issue we had. Very Bad Experience.

“Hence they asked us to make a new reservation for double the price with out even trying to fix it on their side, even after I showed the printed copy of reservation. This all happened at 12 in the night on a Friday Double tree didn't have an open help desk. On top we had a useless front desk person. Finally next morning before my overseas flight, I had to call the hotel central customer service. And there seems to be a system glitch which prevented the reservation in the central system appearing in the hotel's local system. But they are very poor in handling the situation. They told me that they will investigate it on Monday and I have no idea what is going on now. They said they will email me while I am abroad but hadn't done so far.”

• $19.00 valet parking but it is worth it!!!!

“The valet parking those guys are awesome!! first time when we got there the valet guys were so friendly and they help us out with everything. They brought the bags to our rooms and they always had our car ready on time. The front desk was also friendly they went the extra mile to make my stay a perfect one. The hotel was very close to downtown coconut grove and It had a excellent view to the bay. I will stay here again, definitely.”

“Nice friendly people. The hotel was clean and had a great food. The valet parking got in a traffic accident and wrecked my classic car. They sent a substitute to my daughters wedding. They did the best they could after the accident. I am waiting for the hotel insurance to contact me.”

“After acquiring and confirming reservation, the people I talked to at the front desk told me my room was for "smoking" and I could not change from a King-size bed to double beds. When we got there though, they moved us to a non-smoking room but still put us in the king-size bed.”

• The view from our room was extraordinary.
• I was not happily greeted when I arrived at the hotel. The lady at the desk wasn't the nicest person.

• Very clean, great pool, perfect location.
• Parking is valet only and so very expensive!!.

“We really liked our stay. The location, the room, the pool, everything was excellent. Our only problem was with parking. We didn't want to pay around 20$ for the parking. Other than that, I recommend this hotel to anybody.”
