“this hotel is exceptional. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and well thought out. We enjoyed the pool and would love to go back. Outstanding people who appeared to enjoy their work. We stayed at six different hotels and resorts on this trip and this was the most impressive.”

• The hotel is beautifully decorated.
• The location is good, however outside is not quite complete.

“This hotel is strikingly beautiful in the common areas and the rooms are sparkling clean with fluffy beds and pillows. The location is excellent. However, the hotel is in an industrial park of sorts. Construction outside is worrisome during the drive to the front entrance. Entering the front door and experiencing the beauty of the lobby gave a complete sense of relief.”

• Right location, very nice, only stayed one night so did not have enough time to tell anything else.
• Nothing to not like, all was good.

“The only thing that I found was there was a large plastic bottle under the edge of the bed, also dust balls around the wall. The lobby was very clean, and the people were very nice. The decor was also very nice, the hotel grounds were nicely landscaped. very appealing.”

• Beautiful hotel, friendly and helpful staff!
• It was located next to the freeway but this did not interfere in how quit the hotel was.

“The staff was very friendly and helpful. They were very willing to serve. The restaurant food was great as was the service. Definitely would recommend this quit hotel. It was close to everything you need.”

“We received an inferior room, we were staring at the roof. Room service food was bland even though it came from the same restaurants that had provided us with an excellent dinner two nights earlier. Staff was excellent, pool ok, no spa on premises, was disappointing.”

• The Jacuzzi was not working properly. No jets. Just hot water.

“Although expensive in my opinion, I'd stay here again in a heartbeat. Very clean and very friendly. We arrived at 8:00 a.m. and they had a room for us even though we got there so early. Super establishment.”

• Liked it all. The restaurant needs to improve given the price and its representation of gourmet food.

“This is a quiet, lovely, off the beaten path hotel in the fort Lauderdale area (plantation) of Florida. The rooms are well kept and they have excellent beds. Close to the airport and not too far from the beaches.”

“The hotel is a great place for business travelers or anyone looking to stay in the Ft. Lauderdale area. Ample parking, very friendly and attentive staff, nice fitness center. The restaurant is nice too (breakfast buffet is good). Very nice amenities overall. My only suggestions are better pillows and beds. Also, add in-room safes.”

• It was beautiful and had very spacious rooms.
• They charged us for the water bottles we did not take, but did return the money to us easily, I can't trust this hotel. No continental breakfast!

“Everything was find about the stay except when I returned home to see a charge of $9. I didn't buy anything for that and called. They said the fee was for the water bottles in the room, which we did not take. I did not appreciate the hassle to call, complain and get my money back for something I didn't take. I feel like this is a hotel I cannot trust, though it certainly did not appear to be one like that. Maybe we just got unlucky.”

• Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The food was also very good but a little pricey. Juice $3.50.
• It is next to two freeways and is located in a office park.

• It was a very grand looking hotel.
• The staff that checked us in was less than efficient.

“This is a very nice hotel. Our maid was wonderful and made up for the initial check in service which was not up to par for a four star hotel. However, everything else about the hotel was nice. Location wasn't super great for leisure travels. It served our needs well. But, those who are going for leisure would probably be happier on the beach.”

• It's about a 15 minutes drive to downtown Fort Laud.

“We were very pleased with this hotel. It is relatively new, with beautiful facilities and a great staff. We used the pool and had breakfast in the coffee shop. While the breakfast is not included with a stay. We found it to be fabulous. Would highly recommend this property.”

• Had to pay for broadband in the room. $9.95 per day it should be free.

“The Renaissance Fort Lauderdale in Plantation isn't a four-star hotel. Beautiful, clean rooms. Nice bathrooms. Pretty lobby. You have to pay $9.95 per day for broadband. Nice workout room. Upgrade to Club Level if you can, the free continental breakfast is outstanding as well as the free evening hors d'oeuvres and desserts. Free parking. Pleasant staff. Free computers, printers and fax in the Business Center, but they are often seem broken or suffer from viruses.”

“Nice, but staff can do nothing after midnight. Someone had briefly used my room before I checked into it at 11:30 pm. Staff claimed to be able to do nothing about it, manager made it up to me next day with free dinner.”

“Let me begin by saying that I am not a high maintenance traveler. I only expect a clean room and no hassles. The second smelled as if a stink bomb went off. The third was acceptable but the mildew in the shower was not 4 star material. We were exhausted and stayed. The in room dining the next morning was satisfactory at best. Our order was only about half right with a few things missing, but not worth having the guy come back. Overall avoid this hotel.”
