• The Inn was close to where I needed to be the next day.
• I still have bite marks from the fleas or bedbugs that were there.

“I told the staff that they need to fumigate the room due to the fact that I was bitten all night by something, and the only response I got was "Thank you". There was no concern over the numerous bites that I had on my face and body either from the staff at this location or from the main office. I travel a lot, and this was the first negative experience I have had anywhere. Of course, this was the first time I have stayed at a La Quinta Inn. I went home and scrubbed myself for hours, and I still don't feel clean. Not only was I bitten all night, but the room was dirty. The carpet was dirty and stained, and you could see where the dirt was mopped into the corners in the bathroom. There was even a quarter on the floor which I assume a previous guest had dropped. The room obviously hadn't been cleaned appropriately since then. If it is cleaned the way it was before I stayed there, the quarter is probably still on the floor. I would not be so upset had I even received an apology and a promise that the room would be fumigated so that other guests don't have to go through the same thing which I did. I complained to the main office and still received no apology or promise that the problem would be handled.”

“Very filthy rooms: smelly, unswept, carpet was very old and very stained throughout. Poor staffing: only one person at desk who was too busy to properly help customers, very rude and unfriendly housekeeping staff who apparently take no pride in their work.”

• There was a rowdy bunch staying down the hall from us.

• Room layout is very attractive.
• Tile in the bathroom needs more cleaning between guests.

“I have stayed at this hotel several times. The staff at the front desk can be scarce at times, but helpful when you can find them. The layout of the rooms makes you feel more like you're at a vacation house than a hotel. The rooms are quite clean; however the bathroom tile flooring needs more attention between guests. The comfort of the mattresses is the best of any hotel I have ever stayed in. I have a bad back and it is so nice to be able to sleep well away from home. There are only two drawbacks for me. The TV service seems to be a satellite company that doesn't carry some of my favorite basic channels; however you will get multiple HBO's. Lastly, there is no wireless internet. The wired internet in the rooms works ok, but I have had problems with it since my first stay at this property. It loses connection frequently and the tech support company says everything is working properly. Hmmm? Overall, a great value and nice place to stay.”

• I like the convenient location of this hotel. Also, the restaurant next door "Village Tavern" was excellent.
• Getting a bottle of water was a bit of a challenge.

“This was a comfortable, hotel experience. It met all of our expectations. It was clean, heat/air worked well, ample towels provided without asking, and convenient to everything - lots of chooses for food, etc. We would definitely stay again.”

• The room was spacious and had a large table and hard wired internet that made it easy to work.
• The room could have been cleaner.

“I often stay in the area but this was the first time Id stayed at this particular hotel. I will probably go back. It was much nicer than I expected. The staff treated me well.”

• The central location to entertainment, dining and downtown.
• The full couch in the room made accessing the right side of the bed a bit uncomfortable and the breakfast menu has nothing for health conscious people.

“The hotel is will located for business or leisure travel due to the fact that it is near to everything from entertainment, shopping, restaurants and down town. The out door pool is great for the price.”

• I requested, but did not get, a non-smoking room which was very frustrating.

“Everything looked great and was comfortable. But I believe that all hotels should be non-smoking. Staying on a smoking floor was not pleasant.”

“I booked this room for my parents (in their 60's). They originally had a reservation at a low-2-star down the road. This hotel was a high 2-star, much better location, nicer rooms & lobby and with "name-your-price" we paid less than the cheaper hotel down the road. ”

• Friendly service, spacious room.
• Was given a smoking room - however, it was clean a relatively fresh and livable for a non-smoker.

“The most impressive part of this stay was the friendliness of the manager on duty the night I checked in. She was also quickly responsive to a problem with the toilet leaking and fixed it herself. The rooms were clean and spacious. The windows opened which is a plus for temperature control and air freshness. Breakfast was fine.”

• The hotel was bright and open. The hotel had basic cable that included the Disney channel. The hotel had a wonderful continental breakfast.

“I loved it. It was bright and lovely. It was in a safe area. It was close to the interstate and shopping and eating. It was close to a major mall. It was a friendly environment for my young children and I felt safe. It was clean and neat.”

“Center of a business district with a fabulous restaurant in the parking lot--one of the favorites in Winston-Salem. Hanes Mall is across the street. Freeway access around the block. Easy to find. Professional staff that were friendly and concerned about my opinion of their hotel. La Quinta sometimes isn't as nice and I was somewhat concerned about the hotel because of this preconception. This hotel is a jewel and I enjoyed my stay very much.”

• Excellent breakfast, you can make your own waffles, excellent location.

“The hotel is clean and rooms large. The rooms have TV, fridge and microwave. The water pressure is excellent. There is plenty of parking around the hotel and a very good restaurant is located right next door. In addition, a 24 hour CVS is across the street. Breakfast is complimentary and has all the essentials. I highly recommend this hotel.”

• Housekeeping too early.

“Stayed there 3 days. No problems. Breakfast is decent: Waffles, Cereal, Sausage biscuits (sometimes) bagels and random pastries. OJ, Tea and Coffee all good. Front desk staff was nice. There is free internet in the room but I did not bring my computer. Staff gladly let me check my email on a hotel computer. The only bad things were: The bathroom door is two double doors which have a big crack in between them. There is no fan in the bathroom. Housekeeping came everyday at like 7AM. Who comes that early?”

“This hotel met my requirements, clean and spacious room, convenient parking and site location. Staff is very courteous. Also, this is located adjacent to Village Tavern, a very nice casual restaurant. About 1 mile from Hanes Mall.”

• I liked the entrance, the soft towels and the fact they gave us four towels.
• I thought the back entrance was bad, being next to dumpster

• The bathtub needed refurbishing or replacing and the front elevator was out of order. There was also no available outlet near the desk.

“The Laquinta in Winston-Salem is a very welcoming hotel with a friendly and courteous staff. The rooms are large and the broadband internet access is free in every room. I particularly liked that the LaQuinta takes efforts to conserve natural resources by using low energy light bulbs and allow you to choose whether to have your linens changed everyday.”

“The hotel was centrally located, with many shopping and dining establishments near by. The staff were very courteous and helpful. The room was neat and clean, and met our specific needs. The continental breakfast was more than adequate, and helped get us ready for the days activities. Would highly consider a return visit. ”

“We stayed there because my brother's and sister across the country needed a place since we were buring our much loved mother in Winston-Salem this past weekend. The staff went WAY OUT OF THE WAY to accomodate this large family and their grief. They were just super! I can't say enough about the freindliness of the staff. It is a super hotel with good solid employees. I give it an eleven on a scale of 1-10. NO you are not at a Hilton, but you sure are close to it for half the price!”

“The hotel offered a basket of red, delicious apples that was always filled. The guests would grab them as they walked by either for breakfast or late night feasting. I thought this was a very good touch. It was a good stay.”
