  • I left too early for breakfast but a worker was kind enough to make me a waffle to go.
  • Arranging shuttle travel leaving the hotel was difficult.

“The shuttles from the airport were easy to get from the airport and it was a fairly short ride to the hotel. The hotel was nice enough but although I had called to check shuttle travel, a shuttle was not available in the morning when I needed it. The room was small and the bathroom amenities were unavailable. (I was left 2 conditioners and a body wash).”

“For business travel it was acceptable. WiFi/internet not available in room. Business center has 2 computers. High Speed Internet not the fastest. Breakfast is a nice touch. Fruit/Muffins/Waffles and Frozen microwave sandwiches available, also juice and coffee. Room was clean.”

  • They didn't charge for a local call to order a pizza.
  • The shuttle to the airport was full and we had to take a cab.

“I prefer hallway entrances to rooms rather than parking lot entrances which we had. The airport shuttle only ran at 11:30 and 1:00 and was full. We had to take a cab to the airport. We rely on airport shuttles to help the budget on a vacation and were disappointed this was not available.”

  • Lobby entrance could be spiffier up more.

  • We liked the cleanliness of the room, the parking spaces, and the breakfast.
  • The desk staff were arrogant and not willing to help.

“Overall the hotel was nice, but we had stayed in better ones. For the entire stay we were having problems with the magnetic keys for the room (if often happened when we were trying to enter the room at midnight or later!) And the desk staff tried to blame us for this happening. It was not until we were leaving that someone felt sympathy for us. It made a pleasant stay go sour.”

  • Shuttle service from airport was slow to arrive and shuttle to ship was misrepresented.

“Hotel was clean and convenient. The shuttle service which was one reason we booked this hotel wasn't adequate. The shuttle from airport was slow to arrive and they would arrange a shuttle to the cruise ship for a price. However they would only arrange one and when it was full you had to get a taxi for twice the price of the shuttle.”

“I was pleased with the hotel for its amenities such as computers in the lobby for customer use and the complete breakfasts. It is about 5 miles from the airport but does offer a free shuttle. The room was clean with friendly service. Compared to the other hotel where I stayed in the same area it is far superior and a much better value.”

  • The price, Name brand you know and trust.
  • Only one person at check in and no service manager it took almost 45 min.

“I felt bad for the desk clerk he was all alone and it took him forever to check a group of 10 in. People were visibly upset with Marriott. But through it all he did a good job.”

  • Airplanes roaring overhead every 5 minutes.

“Rooms were clean but very small. Each was equipped with mini-fridge and microwave, though I could not imagine anyone wanting to stay more than one night. Poor noise reduction insulating - planes go overhead every 2-5 minutes and literally make the walls and beds shake. Did not get more than 2 hours of sleep the whole night. I could not imagine sleeping at this hotel if I were a light sleeper! Very far away from any of the Miami attractions. Ok for a night but not for a vacation traveler. ”

  • I had a hard time understanding some of the staff because their English was not very good.

  • Free shuttle service to/from airport, free internet, free yummy cookies, spacious rooms, felt safe.
  • Understanding receptionist's Spanish accent, shuttle driver late for 5 a.m. run, key card did not open stairway door, far from airport., H2O charge.

“I was pleased with this hotel. Had some stress related to the lateness of 5a.m. shuttle driver but the 5:30 man was in early so I got out at 5:15. (a new detour didn't help either). Having the free shuttle was a great asset. The free breakfast would have been wonderful but I left too early to partake. Appreciated the room extras - shampoo, tissues, blow drier etc even though I didn't need most of them. The bed was very comfortable and there was no hint of the room ever having been smoked in. The banging doors caused some sleep disturbance but I was in bed early for a 4:30 a.m. start. If I need a hotel in the future I would not hesitate.”

“The staff was rude and waited on others as I stood there waiting to check in (people behind me in line). Called several times to find out check in time and no answer. When I checked in they said they were too busy to answer phone. Got lost going back to hotel and no answer when called. Also when finally got someone they were in too much of a hurry to give me correct directions. Horrible experience.”

  • Staff was distracted and preoccupied with socializing. Shuttle from airport was very late to pick up and unavailable in the morning when I needed it.

  • The room was too small, the TV didn't work correctly, very cramped.

“This hotel would be good for one person traveling for business. Because it was so small we had to move chairs to fit our suitcase in the room. The TV remote did not work and no one could fix it for us. It was a very cramped room and I was disappointed with the overall experience!”

“The hotel itself is nice, what you would expect for the Marriott, however, I was unaware that it was a no-smoking facility and while it was near the airport there were no decent eating facilities in walking distance. We didn¿t rent a car because we assumed there would be an onsite restaurant.”

  • At checkout the staff needs to review the info more carefully.

“My whole experience was very good. The room, the staff, everything was good. The only problem I had was with my billing. Also, at checkout I was presented for a bill with over $170 worth of phone calls which were not mine. If I didn't scrutinize my bill carefully, I would have been overcharged by over $400.00.”

“When I arrived with my family, our rooms were not available, and we were asked to go to a sister hotel down the street. When we arrived there, we were given keys to one room which was already occupied by someone else, and one room which was filthy and there was human waste in the bed, and in the bathroom. I am sure that we could have been given rooms at the sister Marriott which was next door to the Fairfield Inn. The morning manager on duty at the sister hotel did not know how to hear my complaint, and did not seem to care. I saw some customers who had booked rooms there, who received worst treatment than me and my family. I am very disappointed with both hotel staffs.”
