• Is too far from the Miami airport (15 minutes by taxi which is an extra cost).

• Decor was really nice. No expense spared.

“The room was small with a big bed in it. It has a great fixtures. But I would prefer more space for comfort than marble floors in the bathroom. I was cramped. The prices in the restaurant was too high. And the breakfast was not a good selection. Good on the eyes though!”

• People where friendly, and where very helpful.
• When we called to know if there was a shuttle from the hotel to the port of Miami they said there was one but forgot to say that we had to find one.

“Hotel very clean and the reception was ok, but as for the concierge who we asked for a restaurant in the area we had just a misunderstanding about the price by person.”

• The bed and linens were of great quality. Club level amenities were a nice touch.
• On two separate occasions I asked for help from the concierge and they said they would call back and never did.

“The lobby was elegant and inviting in a non-pretentious way. The room was of the high level of other Intercontinental Hotels I have visited. The club level free breakfast was more than just coffee and muffins which was nice. The pool looked nice but not incredibly inviting to just hang out by as there were outdoor dining tables very close by and business lunches taking place. Free parking was great. Location made easy access for everywhere I needed to go. I would go back.”

• Shuttle times to the airport is only 1 per hour and only during short period of time.

“Attractive airport location is reduced due to the low number of shuttles one per hour and if you have to travel early or late you need a taxi.”

• The young lady at C/I was warm and friendly. All staff was accommodating.
• There was nothing that I did not like.

“A modern, sophisticated, hotel with a spacious lobby and pool area, well appointed rooms, and great attention to detail. I would highly recommend to family, friends, and business associates. I look forward to staying here again.”

“No electricity to appliances in bathroom had to replace blow dryer. Shower curtain smelled of not being dry properly. Door lock mechanism broke and was trapped in room, could not get out. Staff was helpful but too many things wrong with room. Should not have rented until fixed. Electrical problem was known.”

• Great location near the Doral Golf Club where I was working.
• They charged $9.95 for internet access. Should be free for a 4 star hotel.

“The room was large and comfortable with good pillows. The sink drain was slow to empty, but that was a minor inconvenience. No free breakfast, so I can't comment on the quality of the food and no free newspaper which again for a 4-star hotel is being a little on the cheap side.”

• Great rooms, beautiful setting and service.
• Stopped Airport pickup service at 1000pm, excluding late arrival guests.

“I have stayed at this hotel many times in the past and have always enjoyed the experience, comfort, upscale setting and beautiful rooms offered. Nearby Doral resort, and actually is a better product. Freeway access better than all other hotels in the Doral area, ample and adequate dining on same street as hotel.”

• Fee for internet use. Most remotely located of hotels in area.

“If you are planning to go to Miami beach, then this hotel is out of the way. Lacked ice machines and parking can become full if a meeting or event is scheduled. Not too many places to eat near the hotel. Overall, clean and well maintained, but not good if you want to stay near the beaches.”

“We had a great time, we were able to enjoy the pool with the kids. The hotel is very nice. This is the third time we have stayed at this hotel and we love it. It has a nice location also.”

• The hotel was very nice, staff was very accommodating.
• Communication with the staff was a bit hard b/c of their accents.

“I would stay at this hotel again. My kids love swimming in the pool. The room is very clean and roomy. I would recommend this hotel to anyone if they don't mind the location, which is a bit far if you want to go to south beach or key Biscayne.”

• Staff just do not care about the guests.

“This was the worst experience that I ever had in an intercontinental hotel. I had much better experiences on a Crowne plaza and would not stay at this hotel if it was free of charge! My room had an issue with the AC and the bellman suggested that I moved my stuff by myself. There was a delay of 1 and 1/2 hours for a cheeseburger and no apologies. The hallways were frigid also. Very close to the airport but not convenient for anything else in downtown Miami or Miami beach!”

“The hotel is very conveniently located, has beautiful views and a gorgeous lobby, but it's over priced and over rated. The room that we stayed in was a standard king room, very typical in terms of size and amenities of what you'd expect in any big chain hotel.”

• Room was spacious and everyone seemed friendly. Bedding soft and comfortable.
• When I checked in, the person I spoke to was not friendly. Everyone else went out of their way to help with anything that I needed.

“The hotel was located right off of the dock and near a mall. It was also very close to downtown and several other things to do. The room was more spacious than I had expected with a great view of the bay and the port. Most of the staff was very friendly. The bedding was soft and comfortable and the shower was nice. Also, several channel options on the TV.”

• The room was spacious, very clean, and nicely decorated. Window "seating" was very cool.
• Because of the location, guests are forced to pay the totally outrageous valet fee.

“The lobby is very attractive, the staff is somewhat friendly and helpful, and the rooms are extremely clean and very spacious. However the fact that we were pretty much forced to pay the $34 valet fee each day put a huge damper on our trip.”

• We loved this hotel. Nothing at all to dislike.

“The hotel was clean, luxurious with top of the line linens, bedding, and bath products. Marble throughout. A fortune in marble and granite in the bathrooms. Just beautiful and extremely large. Located near great shopping in walking distance. Staff was friendly and helpful with answering questions and providing information. A wonderful ocean and pool view. I would definitely recommend to all visitors. Romantic, family, and business. Accommodations for all travelers! Had a wonderful and comfortable stay.”

• The harbor view was fantastic. The location is good, concierge was helpful. I loved the star bucks inside of the hotel.
• The refrigerator automatically bills items to your account if you "remove" any item. And the sign which explain this is small.

“This hotel charges everything. Internet, luggage keeping, late check out, etc. The most incredible was the refrigerator system - it will charge you (bill to your account automatically) if you "remove" any item from the refrigerator and if I only want to take a look some item to see if I like it or not? Ah, a little bottled water cost USD 4.50 and you can't store anything at refrigerator as aforementioned. But even though I liked the hotel, just don't even touch the refrigerator and you will enjoy your stay!”

• Nice design. Rooftop pool with ocean view.
• Room was not vacuumed both days. Mold in shower. Parking price, internet access and gym fees.

“The owners put a lot of money into the posh look, but it's maintained very poorly. It's like they run out of money to keep it attractive. There were balls of hair and other debris on the carpet. I did not bother to complain the 1st day hoping it would be taken care on the second day, it did not. There was useless tub with no curtain, separate tiny shower all out of marble (useless waste) with mold. Nice view of downtown and ocean. Decent staff but you have to tip them all, count on $20 a day at least in tips. Parking is $34 a day, no other option. Internet is not free, neither is gym. I'll much rather stay in a 4-star where it's all included and the hotels are not out of marble but as attractive as this one. We would never consider it again.”

“If you want a real 4 star hotel in downtown Miami go for the Hyatt or J.W. Marriott. I decided to get a second room and was very careful to ask the price. Hotel staff told me that was just too bad. Parking at $34 per day is double the prevailing rate in Miami.”

• The overall impression just made you awe struck.
• The bathroom looked as though there was mold on the ceiling that they tried to cover up.

“The Intercontinental Miami is highly recommended by me for anyone staying before or after a cruise. We were able to get right into our room. I had called and asked for a non-smoking room before our arrival and it was not a problem. Since I was traveling with my sister we were able to get a room with two double beds, no problem. The pool was beautiful and they have mini-golf and a jogging/walking track. There is a great lighted path the Bayside and I never felt unsafe even though we were two females. Cab fare to the pier was less than $10.00 so no need for a transfer from the cruise company.”

• It exceeds my expectation, great view, clean room, convenient location, comfort and price.
• Staff at the door can use some improvement - nobody opened the door, my taxi was stuck because both lanes were blocked.

“The Best of worlds and the worst, also. I was put in a smoking room and the staff lied, my opinion, as to there not knowing it was a smoking room. Staff sought to make me guilty for the problem. Transferred, second day to a clean, non-smoking room. Previous room dirty and smoking. Left a valuable radio. Security has it and has promised to mail it promptly, that a pleasant surprise.”

• Beautiful public spaces.
• Rude staff, turned power off one night for hours which made smoke alarm go off all night.

“Appearances are not everything, many hidden charges and this hotel does not have consumer comfort or happiness in mind, all about bottom dollar and it shows. Very disappointed.”
