  • Beautiful grounds, easy access.
  • Having to pay for self Parking and the long walk from parking to my room.

  • I did not like anything about this hotel.
  • The parking is over a seven minute walk one way and your charged for it.

“This has to be the worst travel experience I have had. First the directions were completely incorrect by miles. The three + hour trip took six hours because they were completely wrong. I was charged for parking over seven minutes away everyday we had to walk almost an hour because we had to leave the hotel a couple times. The hotel was a spa and the spa was closed for maintenance until October. They preformed a 90 minute maintenance in our room when we were trying to relax. At the pool they had landscape workers using gas powered blowers for hours and the pool was full of derbies from the blowers. Internet was a 10 dollar an hour fee at Starbucks that closed at 4PM and the hotel business center charged 10 for the first 15 minutes. We wore ourselves out walking between the car, room and lobby in the rain every day. We were told that there was no shuttle to the airport and when we left we questioned the vehicle that appeared to be an airport shuttle and it was confirmed they only use the shuttle at their own discretion. The room key shut off at 10:30 am and I was stranded at the garage gate unable to get out unless I walked back and forth in the rain to have them re program my room key. Unable to access the room as well at 10:30am.”

“Everyone was great!! On my first night my keys were deactivated by the time I had returned to my room but after calling the front I quickly had security deliver me new key cards. The worst was the self park (12/day) distance between parking lot and room was too much. Especially when the temps are in the 90's and carrying luggage. Valet is a little steep at 24/day. The grounds are beautiful and serene, felt safe at this location and very central to highways and restaurants.”

“The room was comfortable and clean, and the atmosphere of the resort was pleasant and tropical. My only complaint regards the front desk. My party requested an extra bed as soon as we walked into our room and it finally showed up after 3 phone calls and one hour, 45 minutes. Unacceptable.”

  • Staff was superior, beautiful grounds.
  • Distance from airport.

“Beautiful grounds and amenities, sports bar was nice. Couldn't spend enough time to truly enjoy everything it had to offer. Pools were open until 10PM, but it was a little cold in January for a dip when we arrived just after sunset. Staff was great with everything; they even had a cab ready for us at 6AM. A little far from the airport.”

“We were only at the resort for one night, but it was beautiful. Although you expect staff to be friendly, was awesome - very welcoming. The buffet breakfast was a great value for the huge amount of choices and the great quality.”

“I was really impressed with all the staff that all went out of their way to make you feel welcomed. Pool area made you forget you are just a few minutes away from the airport. Room was cozy. Would stay there again in a heartbeat. Very well managed property and it's rare for me not to find something wrong.”

  • Room to hot, parking too far away, drinks expensive.

“This hotel is in a good location, but is really a resort and not very good for the occasional business traveler. The rooms are in lodges, which are hard to find if arriving late. Parking is either $22 a night for valet or far away. The food is good but expensive. Internet access is $13 a day.”

  • This a historic, landmark hotel. The grounds are impeccable.
  • No airport shuttle service. No free Wi-Fi.

“This is an elegant, old resort hotel which would be impossible to recreate in today's dollars. As a golfer, I appreciate the legacy and significance of the world famous golf course. The landscaping, fountains and gardens are a feast for the eyes of a desert dweller such as myself. The service staff is top notch. My experience was such a pleasant one that I arranged to revisit the hotel on my return trip.”

  • The beauty of the resort and all the amenities for any traveler.
  • It's a bit out of town from Miami and the overhead planes from the airport.

“From the time we arrived until we left we were taken care of by not only the hotel staff but also any person on the site. The rooms were beautiful and well stocked. The grounds were very well kept and the hotel offered everything a traveler might need right there on the site. Golf is very central in the offerings but other amenities abound. A full Spa which has it's own entrance is available for many different needs.”

  • Newer hotel with quality furnishings and fittings.
  • Too many conference goers; "airport" hotel that is 1/2 hour from airport by cab - no facilities to check in for flights unless you bring laptop.

  • Restaurants/bars closed a bit early.

“The hotel was better than all my expectations! The room was big, clean and very nice. Had a balcony with a nice view. Very nice bathroom and the bed were really good. The staff was very helpful and very nice. The hotel has a huge area with an awesome golf resort and spa center. A lot to do at the hotel. This is one of the best hotels I have ever been to, and I would absolutely come back. I can recommend this hotel to everybody. A beautiful hotel with a lot of activities. This is the first time I actually had to use a map to get around at the hotel. I had a really good time staying there.”

  • The rooms were spacious and very nicely furnished.
  • Rooms were so noisy. You could hear every word that the person in the next room and hallway said.

“In all appearances this hotel was 4-star quality. The only drawback, which is a big one when you get no sleep, is the rooms are not soundproof at all. You can hear everyone talk in the room next to you and the hallway.”

  • It had great scenery.
  • Everything is so expensive, you have to pay for internet at a ridiculous $12per day. your bill is never right.

“Great scenery but very overrated in terms of prices for everything. my friend was very uncomfortable with their beds. the carpets are old and the hallway smells. Outside it is great. Outdoor pool with a slide, ideal for romantic get always as it is quiet. Personnel is great.”

“Bell desk supervisor made a mistake getting our bags delivered to our room so 8 hours later I had to go back to the front desk to find them sitting behind the bell desk. These things happen. Overall, this is a nice place and the rest of the service was great. The public areas are very nice and the rooms are done well.”

“The hotel was nice, but we did not have a guest book in the room and when we asked for one it never came. We called room service for a menu but after waiting 45 minutes I finally went to the front desk for one and they proceeded to make copies for me. I would expect better service out of a so called 4 star resort.”

  • The grounds were beautiful, the spa was great, and the staff were very friendly.
  • The room I was given was dark and in need of some updating (carpet, etc.) I ended up moving after two nights and the next room was much nicer.

“This is a sprawling golf resort hotel and I think that the rooms can be hit or miss. I tried two of them and they were much different from each other. The service was great and the pools and spa very nice. It is a beautiful property. If the weather is good and one is not stuck in the room too much, it feels 4-star. If spending a lot of time in the room, I would reduce that rating.”

  • Extra charges were put on Cameron Rosss credit card we did not authorize because we requested two rooms close together.

“The hotel was very nice. The desk staff was nice, but didn't speak very good English. We were not told that either of us was being charged extra for the rooms we were given. This was not expected. Valet parking was all we were told we would be billed extra for and a credit card was given for that use only. We later discovered they had charged extra per room onto the credit card of Cameron Ross. He is trying to get that taken off. Not sure what the status of his attempts have been.”

“My family and I recently returned from a week long vacation in Florida. We stayed at the Miami Doral golf resort and spa. Last night we had arrived at the hotel at 10:30 p.m. And parked in at the lot adjacent to our rooms, the valet parking area. To avoid leaving the keys for the van with 9 suitcases inside, we went to the trouble of parking the van ourselves. The next day we discovered that someone had broken into our rented vehicle and that all of our nine pieces of luggage had been stolen from the vehicle. Immediately after discovering the breaking and entry we called hotel security. We also contacted the loss prevention officer and other members from the administrative departments. They called the police who also showed up minutes later. The police opened a case and assigned an incident number. Unfortunately, it appears that there are no security cameras covering this area and none of the security staff of the hotel witnessed the robbery. Because of the confidence we had in the hotel, we had no trepidations about leaving our luggage in a locked vehicle inside the security perimeter of the hotel in order to facilitate our early morning departure to the airport. We were thoroughly surprised and shocked that this type of crime could be perpetrated inside such a prestigious hotel. We visited Florida to go shopping and spent a considerable amount of money for the items which were in our luggage. The hotel's "investigation" resulted in nothing. The security staff was quick to tell us the hotel was not responsible. They didn't seem to take any responsibility for the stolen luggage. We were told that this was the first incident of such kind but later we learned that other guests had lost sets of golf clubs outside the club house and ipods from cars. Stay away from this place where it seems thieves operate from inside, no one will stay in a place where they feel safe.”

  • The bed was not as comfortable as other Marriott hotels.

“We stayed here the evening before leaving for a cruise. It was like starting our vacation a day earlier, very quiet room and atmosphere. A great place to relax. Exceptional bellman service. We like having "pick up room service", no service fee, just order by phone and pick food up near central lobby. Only drawback was the bed was not as comfortable as other Marriotts. Maybe they need replacing.”

  • I didn't appreciate the Blue Monster being closed.

“Marriot should practice full disclosure. I feel like you all lied to me, you could have told me the Blue Monster was closed. I wasted time and money, but you don't care. You can continue lying to guests, but you won't have any guests after a while. Very Disappointed!”
