“This hotel is in a good location, but is really a resort and not very good for the occasional business traveler. The rooms are in lodges, which are hard to find if arriving late. Parking is either $22 a night for valet or far away. The food is good but expensive. Internet access is $13 a day.” Jul 26, 2008 by
Communic8tor from Las Vegas, NV
“This is an elegant, old resort hotel which would be impossible to recreate in today's dollars. As a golfer, I appreciate the legacy and significance of the world famous golf course. The landscaping, fountains and gardens are a feast for the eyes of a desert dweller such as myself. The service staff is top notch. My experience was such a pleasant one that I arranged to revisit the hotel on my return trip.” Jul 18, 2008 by
Bob from Monterey Park, CA
“From the time we arrived until we left we were taken care of by not only the hotel staff but also any person on the site. The rooms were beautiful and well stocked. The grounds were very well kept and the hotel offered everything a traveler might need right there on the site. Golf is very central in the offerings but other amenities abound. A full Spa which has it's own entrance is available for many different needs.” Jun 16, 2008 by
Mary from Tampa, FL
“The hotel was very attractive there were some unnecesarry layers that seemed designed to stimulate tipping. it is billed as an airport hotel but there are no airport shuttles. restaurants were hard to access.” Jun 15, 2008 by
Corry from Amsterdam, NH
“We did like the hotel but as we don't golf it's less interesting.” Jun 8, 2008 by
Barbara from Dundas, ON CA
“Lovely hotel with beautiful public rooms and golf course. A car is needed to stay in this location.” Apr 3, 2008 by
Judy from Larkspur, CA
“Large facility with many conferences/conventions. The individual traveler is ignored. "Airport" hotel that is 1/2 hour from airport with no transportation other than taxi. Cannot check in for flights unless you bring your own laptop - front desk/concierge won't assist. For groups only.” Apr 2, 2008 by
Joe from Lake Forest, IL
“Excellent. Well known, especially to the golfing community. A little worn. i.e., carpets, etc.” Apr 1, 2008 by
Tonje from Tacoma, WA
“The hotel was better than all my expectations! The room was big, clean and very nice. Had a balcony with a nice view. Very nice bathroom and the bed were really good. The staff was very helpful and very nice. The hotel has a huge area with an awesome golf resort and spa center. A lot to do at the hotel. This is one of the best hotels I have ever been to, and I would absolutely come back. I can recommend this hotel to everybody. A beautiful hotel with a lot of activities. This is the first time I actually had to use a map to get around at the hotel. I had a really good time staying there.” Apr 1, 2008 by
Mary from Peoria, AZ
“The first visit was a lovely room, the second part of our stay, the air wasn't working, room was dirty & old & by the busy road & very small. One of the worst rooms we've ever stayed in.” Mar 23, 2008 by
Bob from Woodstock, IL
“Excellent place to relax and refuel.” Mar 13, 2008 by
Katie from Rancho Cucamonga, CA
“In all appearances this hotel was 4-star quality. The only drawback, which is a big one when you get no sleep, is the rooms are not soundproof at all. You can hear everyone talk in the room next to you and the hallway.” Mar 5, 2008 by
Tom from Versailles, KY
“Quality service, good food, nice looking resort.” Mar 3, 2008 by
Wanda from Mesa, AZ
“I think this hotel would be wonderful for anyone to stay at. It is relaxing and quiet. If you want to have a fun getaway, this is the place.” Feb 21, 2008 by
Lady C. from Acworth, GA
“Great scenery but very overrated in terms of prices for everything. my friend was very uncomfortable with their beds. the carpets are old and the hallway smells. Outside it is great. Outdoor pool with a slide, ideal for romantic get always as it is quiet. Personnel is great.” Feb 20, 2008 by
Trent from Rohnert Park, CA
“Bell desk supervisor made a mistake getting our bags delivered to our room so 8 hours later I had to go back to the front desk to find them sitting behind the bell desk. These things happen. Overall, this is a nice place and the rest of the service was great. The public areas are very nice and the rooms are done well.” Feb 20, 2008 by
Joseph from Saint Simons Island, GA
“The hotel was nice, but we did not have a guest book in the room and when we asked for one it never came. We called room service for a menu but after waiting 45 minutes I finally went to the front desk for one and they proceeded to make copies for me. I would expect better service out of a so called 4 star resort.” Feb 19, 2008 by
Kristine from Binghamton, NY
“Staff was mostly rude. Room was not resort quality. I would fill ripped off if I had not got discounted room.” Feb 19, 2008 by
Nelson from North Port, FL
“Great location, initially the service was excellent, but as my stay progressed it steadily grew worse, calls for services or complaints went unreturned. I wouldn't recommend this location.” Feb 6, 2008 by
Jeanne from Shaker Heights, OH
“This is a sprawling golf resort hotel and I think that the rooms can be hit or miss. I tried two of them and they were much different from each other. The service was great and the pools and spa very nice. It is a beautiful property. If the weather is good and one is not stuck in the room too much, it feels 4-star. If spending a lot of time in the room, I would reduce that rating.” Feb 1, 2008 by
Tina from Pittsford, NY
“I think that for the brief period of time that we stayed there that I really didn't get to really see and enjoy all that the hotel may have had to offer.” Jan 19, 2008 by
Nicole from Springboro, OH
“The service was wonderful at the resort and this was definitely one of the nicest hotels we have ever visited in Florida!” Dec 16, 2007 by
John from Bandera, TX
“Far from airport, no transportation provided. Beware! Central building is nice but rooms are showing their age; carpets, furniture, etc. And could be cleaner.” Nov 22, 2007 by
Maryann from Tallahassee, FL
“The hotel was very nice. The desk staff was nice, but didn't speak very good English. We were not told that either of us was being charged extra for the rooms we were given. This was not expected. Valet parking was all we were told we would be billed extra for and a credit card was given for that use only. We later discovered they had charged extra per room onto the credit card of Cameron Ross. He is trying to get that taken off. Not sure what the status of his attempts have been.” Nov 18, 2007 by
T from Atlanta, GA
“I would return.” Nov 14, 2007 by
Francisco from Guadalajara, Mexico
“My family and I recently returned from a week long vacation in Florida. We stayed at the Miami Doral golf resort and spa. Last night we had arrived at the hotel at 10:30 p.m. And parked in at the lot adjacent to our rooms, the valet parking area. To avoid leaving the keys for the van with 9 suitcases inside, we went to the trouble of parking the van ourselves. The next day we discovered that someone had broken into our rented vehicle and that all of our nine pieces of luggage had been stolen from the vehicle. Immediately after discovering the breaking and entry we called hotel security. We also contacted the loss prevention officer and other members from the administrative departments. They called the police who also showed up minutes later. The police opened a case and assigned an incident number. Unfortunately, it appears that there are no security cameras covering this area and none of the security staff of the hotel witnessed the robbery. Because of the confidence we had in the hotel, we had no trepidations about leaving our luggage in a locked vehicle inside the security perimeter of the hotel in order to facilitate our early morning departure to the airport. We were thoroughly surprised and shocked that this type of crime could be perpetrated inside such a prestigious hotel. We visited Florida to go shopping and spent a considerable amount of money for the items which were in our luggage. The hotel's "investigation" resulted in nothing. The security staff was quick to tell us the hotel was not responsible. They didn't seem to take any responsibility for the stolen luggage. We were told that this was the first incident of such kind but later we learned that other guests had lost sets of golf clubs outside the club house and ipods from cars. Stay away from this place where it seems thieves operate from inside, no one will stay in a place where they feel safe.” Oct 29, 2007 by
Helen from Newtown Square, PA
“We stayed here the evening before leaving for a cruise. It was like starting our vacation a day earlier, very quiet room and atmosphere. A great place to relax. Exceptional bellman service. We like having "pick up room service", no service fee, just order by phone and pick food up near central lobby. Only drawback was the bed was not as comfortable as other Marriotts. Maybe they need replacing.” Jun 16, 2007 by
Luca from Bainbridge Island, WA
“A lot of problem with room service and housekeeping.” Jun 3, 2007 by
Pedro from Bradenton, FL
“It needs remodeling. Buildings and elevators are too old. Food is not good.” Jul 20, 2006 by
Alex from Plano, TX
“Marriot should practice full disclosure. I feel like you all lied to me, you could have told me the Blue Monster was closed. I wasted time and money, but you don't care. You can continue lying to guests, but you won't have any guests after a while. Very Disappointed!” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.
