• Location.
• It was poorly maintained.

“Very disappointed. Not well maintained at all. We own a motel in the Florida Keys which is 2 star and much nicer, cleaner, better linens, etc.”

• Near the Holiday Inn on although not on the ocean. Close to most attractions.
• Musty hallway, viewed 3 rooms, picked this one, one other was smoky, another AC didn't work. My room was fine and worth the money.

“This hotel is fine although the Days Inns are not kept up like the Marriott's or other brands. I had to check 3 rooms before finding this one. It was not smoky smelling like the other one, and the
A/C worked. It was well worth the money, but my advice to you is look at the room before you agree to stay in it. The guy at the front desk was very helpful and allowed me to move to another room before I unpacked my car. The pool was nice enough to eat a sandwich at one of the tables and sip on a beer.”

• The people at the front desk were friendly and helpful.
• It was outdated and the rooms were really small.

“I would not go back this hotel. When first arriving everyone was friendly and helpful. There was this woman in the lobby who said that she would help us find activities and restaurants since it was our first time there. Come to find out she was there to recruit people for timeshares for a near by resort. Then we get to the room. The room was extremely outdated, it looked like it had not been renovated since the early 80's. While it did have a lot of amenities (microwave, refrigerator, etc.) the room was so small that they were just placed in the most unusual and inconvenient places. We had to ask several times for extra towels without success. It was just not a good experience.”

• I liked the continental breakfasts.
• The chair and bedspread looked worn causing them to look not the cleanest. The air conditioners leaked down and dripped over the walkways.

“The hotel was ok. I would probably stay there again. It is definitely not the Taj Mahal, but one can make do. There are some things management could do to improve the visitors stay, move the microwave so the beeping doesn't start the minute that you turn the light switch on, fix the leaking air conditioner units, etc.”

• Great shower and bathroom, bed was comfortable, linens were nice, and appliances were exceptional.
• Room had a musty smell.

“This hotel was definitely worth the money. It was more than sufficient for two college-aged travelers. It had a nice microwave and an ice-cold mini fridge. All the room needs to be the best value on Hilton Head Island is updated vent fans for the bathroom. The moist air created by a hot shower has, over time, created a slight musty smell throughout the room. It wasn't unbearable and our experience was very good overall. It was quiet, well-lit, and our privacy and security were never felt to be in jeopardy.”

• Maybe location but there is better.
• Very cheap decor, very small room, poor bedding.

“This hotel is defiantly not a 2 star. I thought I thought I was getting a good deal. Poor room decor. Feels like a drive up motel not a hotel. Mattress is not a full king more like a queen and the mattress is foam and not Swedish. Would not recommend at a 2 star. It is a 1 star!”

• Great rate and the free breakfast were ok. The pool was nice.
• Paint was peeling from ceiling in room. Very outdated/old furniture and bedspread.

• Nothing.
• Room smelled of smoke even though it was supposed to be a non-smoking room. Staff unfriendly. Room not clean.

“We were very disappointed in the Days Inn at Hilton Head. The hotel from the outside has a nice appearance but the rooms are really unclean and stink. The receptionist first gave us a smoking room and we went back and told the lady we wanted a non-smoking room. It had the same smell and they tried to cover it up with some spray. We asked for another room and they said they did not have one.”

• It was a great hotel for the price I paid.
• The ice machines didn't work, but it wasn't that big of deal.

“I did not have any problems at this hotel. Everything was very clean. The beds were very comfortable. The staff was friendly. It is in a great location.”

• It's located in Hilton Head, SC.
• There was not TV and we were not told this at check-in, so we checked out.

“There was not TV in the room, due to the cable being out and it was not to be fixed until the next day. Cable was out in the whole Days Inn. We were not told this at check-in, which was very rude, and unprofessional. We checked out ant went to another motel.”

• Overall my friend and I was very disappointed.
• The room too small / not up to date in decor.

“For the price of $216.00 with taxes for that room for two days. I was very upset when I saw the room. I just could not believe that. To me the rate of the room should have been about $39.99 to $50.00. I was very disappointed and recommend to my families and friends not to go there for a room. I promise myself that I will not go to Days Inn no more... But I could not get out of the booking at that time.”

• Daily breakfast provided.
• Staff wanted to clean room while you were in it, didn't clean it one day.

“The hotel is nice, but not the greatest location on the island. The room was fairly clean, but SMALL. The bathroom was huge, but had a sink and no counter. The cleaning staff did not clean our room one day and tried to clean it while we were in it another (we had been gone the entire day except 1 hour). Overall, it is ok but I probably would pay more for a better place in the future.”

• The Days Inn in HHI offers a great location to the beach and all activities on the island.
• It - the facilities of the property - are a bit dated and in need modernizing/updating.

“The Hilton Head Days Inn has a great, central, on-island location. Tennis, golf, the beach, shopping, and great restaurants are within minutes from the property. The pool is larger than many hotels offer, and a miniature golf center is just a stroll away. This is a good hotel for families with young children.”

• I liked the variety of food at the continental breakfast -- very sufficient.
• I did not like having to use the room "key" to go "down" the elevator.

“The staff was very accommodating -- from the desk personnel to the maintenance man. I felt very secure in the room. My wife and I enjoyed the separate TV sets -- she could watch her favorite program while I watched the sports program of my choice. My only complaint was the basic cable package offered a minimum amount of channels to select from.”

“My first experience with the Fairfield brand was in there newer hotels. I have notice that Fairfield is incorperating older hotels into their brand. I am therefore weary of their hotels. That said, it was a nice stay and I would stay at this hotel again.”

• The fact I couldn't book a second night while I was there.

• nicely situated, outstanding for its star-rating class
• can't come up with a thing...

“I have been to at least 20 Fairfields and they were ALL uniformly clean and modern, with free wireless internet throughout the property, 24-hour coffee, USA Today to the rooms as well as at the front desk, and cozy and efficient lobbies where breakfast foods and local cookies are totally satisfactory. Ice cream snacks cost money but their very presence is better than most hotels. Best value I know.”

• beautiful resort, clean rooms, nice staff, friendly...
• 3:30 am false fire alarm! Noisy, cold, never got back to sleep!

“Having been woken up in the middle of the night for this fire alarm was unfortunate. We had to be up at 6:30 am for a event so by the time we got back settled in the room, it was time to get up. Plus you felt uneasy about relaxing. No one offered an explanation or an apology or a coupon. I realize it was an accident, but we had a very long day, a 7 hour lacrosse tournament that we could hardly keep our eyes open!”
