“My wife and I both enjoyed the stay. Will use Priceline again for good price reductions.” Oct 10, 2009 by
Kim from Morristown,TN
“We definitely got our money's worth, but it doesn't really seem like a four star resort anymore. The facilities have really been down Oct 5, 2009 by
Jim from Atlanta,GA
“No room upgrades at hotel.” Oct 3, 2009 by
Marilyn from Dandridge,TN
“The grounds are beautiful as well as the lobby. the rooms need to be updated, We weren't expecting to pay extra for resort fees.” Sep 11, 2009 by
Judy from Greenfield,IN
“We were very disappointed in the hotel. The room was a very long distance from the elevator and we couldn't even hear the ocean from our room. The bell staff was extremely helpful but the hotel didn't live up to our expectation or our memory. We had stayed there many years ago.” Sep 8, 2009 by
Elaine from Owensboro,KY
“Nice hotel and very friendly staff.” Sep 5, 2009 by
Barb from Aiken,SC
“Nice check in-rooms were pleasant-no one around with a cart-no valet present so that was annoying. But overall a very nice experience.” Aug 1, 2009 by
darlene from ellicott city maryland
“Lovely location. Grounds and area are spectacular. Value for the money is poor. It is definitely not a 4 star hotel, more like a 3 star. the value for the $ is poor. You are charged a ridiculous resort fee daily. No lobby coffee. Room had a view of the roof and noisy parking lot. Very disappointing. Brella's food is good but so overpriced. Would come again, but probably not stay here. It was a long drive for what we got.” Aug 1, 2009 by
Chris from Cleveland,TN
“The hotel was very nice. We would recommend it to anyone. The only downfall was our balcony overlooked a big, ugly roof. We didn't get to view the resort from our room.” Jul 23, 2009 by
Rosalyn from Harlem,GA “Everything was great.” Jun 30, 2009 by
Spencer from Atlanta,GA
“Hotel, restaurants, location and staff all great, especially the staff. Resort fee for such things as free parking and use of the pool was an outrageous and should be included as part of the base price.” Jun 22, 2009 by
Willie from Kathleen,GA
“Nice but not what May 28, 2009 by
Donna from Roswell,GA
“Great location. Super staff, very friendly all around. Breakfast buffet was great. Room was well appointed but a little dated and noise from adjacent rooms and hallway were noticeable. Would definitely stay here again.” May 18, 2009 by
Sandra from ohio
“I just left this hotel last week, everything was pretty nice, there was a man who was very nice to us when we were looking for someone to look at our air conditioner. We returned to our room and received a nasty call from the chief engineer, he wanted to know why we stopped an employee in the hall instead of calling the operator. I was shocked this man was rude and very nasty to me on the phone. I am writing a letter to the corporate office and will never stay at this hotel or any other Crown Plaza. The rest of the staff tried very hard to accommodate us even stating that this man had a reputation of being rude to hotel guests and was very mean and abusive to his crew and other staff members.” May 18, 2009 by
Brandy from Irmo,SC
“Weekend getaway was wonderful. Wish I could have stayed longer.” Apr 15, 2009 by
Barney from Lincolnton,GA
“Hotel was somewhat older, however it was clean. The facilities were average or above. The pool and bar area was nice and clean. The only real disadvantage for the hotel was the distance of the ocean which was farther than normal for a resort.” Mar 30, 2009 by
from Lewisburg,WV
“The hotel was in a beautiful setting fronting the beach. However, in spite of having several parking lots adjacent to it, we were unable to find a parking spot after dinner, because of a function that was taking place in the hotel. This was particularly frustrating since we were required to pay the resort fee for parking, pool, and free coffee in the room. The valet service offered to park our car in their lot for an additional $5. It was a little cool for outdoor swimming in March, so the fee seemed unjustified. The rooms were badly in need of updating. Our room had a nice view of the pool, but was a very long distance from the elevator.” Mar 26, 2009 by
from Avon,OH
“Overall a decent quality property for Hilton Head Island. Rooms are decorated nicely and are fairly current. Our bathroom was not in the greatest of shape but was fine for the typical leisure traveler. Hotel is located in a private community/complex that requires you to obtain a gate pass. Free parking was a plus.” Mar 18, 2009 by
Sharon from Charlotte,NC
“The hotel was nice enough but not altogether what I expected from a resort. It is technically oceanfront, but very far back from the ocean. I was charged an additional resort fee when I checked in and the clerk said that there was an explanation of what it included somewhere in my check in documents, but I never found it. The concierge was friendly but the response to any question was a recommendation for some facility on the premises.” Mar 16, 2009 by
Jane from Marietta,GA
“The hotel is nice and friendly.” Mar 10, 2009 by
from Georgetown,IN
“Nice hotel. Too long to walk to room and pool wasn't the best. This is not the most ADA friendly hotel for someone with walking issues, but the gardens were very beautiful and it set right on the beach. You couldn't beat the value for the room. Lots of wildlife around to see thanks to the beautifully kept gardens.” Feb 11, 2009 by
Nick from Augusta,GA
“Beautiful Hotel in a private, gated and secured location. You have access to great restaurants and local "watering holes". The beach is a stone throws away, with plenty of space to lay down.” Feb 6, 2009 by
Linda from Savannah,GA
“We enjoyed our stay. Room was Jan 5, 2009 by

“First, the bathroom tub was not draining water. Instead of quickly switched me to a new room (it was 9 pm already), it tried to send a maintenance guy to try to fix the tub. After 30 min waiting, they agreed to switch room. Bath room toilet is noisy. The hotel room isolation is not good. I can easily hear noise on the hallway.” Oct 8, 2008 by
Eric
“The hotel is wonderful. It's a nice place to stay and the facilities/grounds are gorgeous. It's right on the beach, has a great pool, hammocks, etc. Do not hesitate to stay here. One of the nicer hotels I have stayed at.” Sep 24, 2008 by
Thomas
“We loved our stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Would strongly recommend to friends and family.” Sep 11, 2008 by
Jeff from Amarillo, TX
“The first night room was small and it was a handicapped room. It was extremely disappointing. They also provided complimentary appetizers each day the remainder of our stay. Overall, the first night was very aggravating but the staff did a good job of trying to remedy the situation thereafter.” Sep 4, 2008 by
Mario from Johns Island, SC
“Great location, fantastic service, will come back.” Sep 3, 2008 by
Terri from Wall, NJ
“Overall, this was a great hotel to stay at. The rooms were nice and the staff was friendly. I did not like having to pay to rent a beach chair. This was supposed to be a resort, and we were paying the $12 per day resort fee per room on top of the room fees. Wireless internet was also available at a charge. It's just the principal.” Sep 3, 2008 by
Emily Z. from Reston, VA
“Beautiful location on wonderful beach, nice facilities, helpful staff.” Aug 25, 2008 by
Kristen from Flower Mound, TX
“It was right on the beach and the rooms were nice. There was even a small bottle of wine and an appetizer salad in the room when we arrived.” Aug 24, 2008 by
Lucinda from Kansas City
“The room cleanliness left much to be desired. Mold in the shower and during our 5-day stay, the sheets were changed only once. The room was never tidied, only the towels were picked up and replaced. Trash left out on the balcony stayed there until we left. Our room had a tiny balcony with a nice view of the parking lot. We requested an upgrade and waited over an hour for a non-smoking room with a view. The view was much better, the balcony a little larger, but the non-smoking room came complete with two ashtrays and a lovely aroma; although they insisted it was non-smoking. The $12 resort fee is ridiculous. The location is good and just a short walk to the beach. Definitely a family atmosphere. Staff is friendly, too, but I would not stay here again. Everything is extra. Not a great value for the price.” Aug 23, 2008 by
Jill from Brownstown, MI
“Absolutely wonderful memories of our trip to Hilton Head. This resort is on the ocean and has the most beautiful grounds complete with hammocks, exotic flowers, pond with turtles (the kids loved that) and a beautiful view of the ocean. Incredible experience. Rooms were clean and well-maintained. Not a single complaint from us! We will definitely return next summer!” Aug 18, 2008 by
Tara from Martinez, GA
“I would definitely recommend this resort to any family looking for a great beach vacation. The beach area is nice, with two lifeguards during the day too. There is also a very nice pool. The restaurants are nice, clean, and serve good food. Shipyard is a very family friendly, safe area to stay, with lots of nice walking and biking paths and great scenery. The room was comfortable and clean.” Aug 17, 2008 by
Yi-Lin from Holly Springs, NC
“The room was a little dirty, and we were locked out on the balcony for 2 hours! There was no warning sign any where in the room stating that the door would lock when closed. Great location!” Aug 17, 2008 by
Randy from Romr, GA
“Great location. The rooms were comfortable and quiet. You can either valet or self park. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would recommend this location to a friend.” Aug 16, 2008 by
Larry from Holly Springs, NC
“We went out to the balcony of our hotel room and closed the door behind us, not knowing that the balcony door locked automatically when it closes. So, we were locked out for 2 hours until we got someone who luckily walked by and informed the hotel staff. Then, after 30 minutes of banging like cops on TV, they finally got our hotel room door opened and unlocked us from the balcony. There was no warning sign or anything on the balcony door, etc. The rooms were not all that clean or comfortable. The bathroom tub had previous guests hair and other particles, we also killed a spider on the bed. However, the location was great! Beautiful public areas, landscaping and great beach location.” Aug 16, 2008 by
Verni from Waxhaw, NC
“I truly enjoyed having the beach and the pool right there on the premises, Also, having the bike rentals right next to the pool allowed us to leave all of our stuff at the pool so when we came back we can go straight for a dip instead of having to go upstairs to fetch our stuff. Hilton head has so much to offer if you would like to leave the resort but really you don't have to. The crown resort has it all!” Aug 10, 2008 by
Christian from Springfield, MO
“Nice hotel. Quarter mile walk to beach even though it says Oceanfront. Beautiful gardens and pool area. Pool is open for 24 hours.” Aug 8, 2008 by
Jay from Stone Mountain, GA
“Property was clean and conveniently located to numerous restaurant options. The restaurants on property were very good and affordable especially for families.” Aug 4, 2008 by
Alan from Cleveland, TN
“Great hotel, my family and I will have many vacations there.” Aug 4, 2008 by
Karen from Lewisville, NC
“Very nicely landscaped area with nice bike trails and pool area. Comfortable beds. Quiet rooms. Very helpful concierge. Very clean beach. Did not like the $12 per room per night charge for coffee in the room, newspaper and coffee in the lobby area.” Jul 28, 2008 by
Tonya from Pendleton, IN
“Hotel is very nice. $12 daily fee is a little ridiculous considering the cost per night. Pool, towels, internet service should already be included in the price. I didn't even have a computer with me, but had to pay for the service?. I would stay again due to location and the atmosphere. I'd just deal with the daily fee.” Jul 22, 2008 by
Dee from Fayetteville, NC
“Hotel was beautiful, it offered on site dining and room service. The landscaping was exquisite.” Jul 21, 2008 by
Shellie from Arden, NC
“Overall we had a very pleasant stay at the Crowne Plaza. The hotel was beautiful and clean. With every amenity. The food was great and pool bar was so convenient. Also we loved having the beach access. We would definitely visit again.” Jul 16, 2008 by
Kyle from Huntersville, NC
“Very nice place to stay. Plan to go back right away.” Jul 15, 2008 by
Travis from Woodstock, GA
“The Crowne Plaza Resort in Hilton Head, SC is a beautiful facility with very nice rooms and views. The hotel staff is helpful and friendly. There is beach access and the hotel rents beach equipment including chairs, umbrellas, and towels. The hotel charges it's guests a hidden fee of $12/day ($24 total for one nights stay) for basic accommodations that one would expect from even a low-class Motel 6, such as coffee in the morning and access to a pool. It reminded me of the airlines charging for peanuts and a pillow on a 7 hour flight. The result of the extra fee is that I am unimpressed with the resort overall.” Jul 8, 2008 by
Diana from Cincinnati, OH
“Good location and friendly staff.” Jul 8, 2008 by
James from Greenville, NC
“Hotel staff was super friendly! Pool area and proximity to the ocean were a definite plus and the reason that we stayed. The concierge was very helpful even though we had limited time for activities.” Jul 2, 2008 by
Dave from Columbia, SC
“Friendly, conscientious staff.”
